SLO-030 Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 Any more work done this weekend? Is that the new sticker for the 10? Quote
Jono.C Posted August 30, 2011 Author Report Posted August 30, 2011 Wasn't home the whole weekend really haha. But managed to get the beaver panel in paint and the the rear guards ready :D Also picked up an ae82 boot wing to chop and mod to fit the front of this Got 2 days to get a fair bit of tafe work done so putting it off until saturday and then i've got 2 weeks to get this thing hopefully painted or atleast ready for paint :D Quote
Jono.C Posted September 1, 2011 Author Report Posted September 1, 2011 Hmm, The paint isn't really coming out how i'd like.. It's coming out brighter and sorta satin finish. Both rear guards, drivers front guard and door should be sprayed over the holidays :) So i'll see how that goes, Might have to mix up some clear with tint and mattening agent in it. Not sure if i posted this but.. This is the turbo i got (Without the fuel setup and some other things) First thing is that i've ditched the crappy sidemount setup and i'm using a front mount intercooler concealed behind the beaver panel to get some proper flow. Another thing is that the turbo in that photo isn't the one i'm using. Mine's a bit larger than that. I'll also be blocking up the bov mount on the back of the carby box as i can't stand the sound of cheap blow of valves. So she'll have a does pipe off the mouth of the turbo. It's only a cheap ebay turbo so i don't really mind either way. Quote
Jono.C Posted September 3, 2011 Author Report Posted September 3, 2011 Coming out lighter than i wanted.. Also raided a ke10 today for some parts. It was rather sad to see. Pretty much everything destroyed.. Lifted the bonnet and it's number is KE10 - 32XXX Way older than the oldest on here.. Yet it's running the ke11 late model dash? Unfortunately the passenger guard was toast so i'm going to have to try and get mine as good as i can.. Quote
kickn5k Posted September 3, 2011 Report Posted September 3, 2011 Don't forget the lifters. They should arrive Monday/Tuesday were cheaper than mine. Lol. But yeah was pretty happy with price too. I still think it will look cool in that shade though mate. Stu. Quote
abbott Posted September 3, 2011 Report Posted September 3, 2011 I reckon it definitely needs to be darker personally. that colour kinda reminds me of nicks 11 1 Quote
Jono.C Posted September 7, 2011 Author Report Posted September 7, 2011 (edited) Yeah you're not wrong.. I want it fair darker than that. So i'm taking it back this week to get it fixed.. again :/ You can see here just how light it is in the sun Edited September 7, 2011 by Jono.C Quote
Jono.C Posted September 14, 2011 Author Report Posted September 14, 2011 Yeah mate! Got stuck in and did a few things! Cheers to Kickn5k for getting me a deal on some solid lifters for the turbo build  Got the front end in bodyup. Just needing some finishing off before it's ready for paint Also decided to have a go at fixing the dash pad myself. Got some expanda foam and filled in the cracks after chipping off the plastic around the cracks Then sanded it back and applied bodyfiller to make it smooth and needs to be finished sanding and then fibreglassed and recovered Cleaned up the rear door trims and vynal died them Also fixed a few dents and rubbed back a few parts of the body. Accelerator was jamming on the corolla for some reason, relised the ke25 air cleaner conflicts with the 4k carbie and holds revs on. Sticker for the rear window.. :P Quote
Jono.C Posted September 14, 2011 Author Report Posted September 14, 2011 This also rocked up today  Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 I hope you're going to plumb that screamer back into the main exhaust. They don't seal enough between the wheel and gate to be open like that. :no2: Quote
Jono.C Posted September 15, 2011 Author Report Posted September 15, 2011 It's basically just to play around with and for track use.. I'm going to get a nice divorced downpipe for it for everyday driving as the dump pipe with the turbo I got looks pretty average Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Just make it once well (ie plumbed in) and be done with it I say. Its not like you get any extra performance from having a screamer pipe. Its only wank factor and poo-poo attracting. Quote
