yay...finally the car has gone in today for its long awaited conversion.

 

Starting today car gets transformed with the aid of:

ae101 4agze

ihi rhb5 gtx familia turbo

custom manifold

t teries diff w larger axles & cusco 1.5 way lsd

custom tailshaft

w57 g/box (ra60) with modified w* housing

2.5" mandrel exhaust

calsonic i/c

larger radiator with d/c thermo fan

hpc coatings on all pipework

 

once thats up and running i'll be sourcing some 2nd hand tein coilovers for the front and adjustable koni yellows & king springs for rear. Lower the car 1.5 - 2 inches. the rest of the suspension is yet to be decided but definately a big mofo swaybar, panhard rod, strut brace & maybe traction brackets (if required)

 

At the same time as suspension i'll be upgrading front brakes..s13 struts, rotors & calipers and on the rear going for jdm ae86 vented rotors. EBC greenstuff pads all round.

 

usuing standard gze computer to start with so boost will be limited to 13psi but i'll prolly have it set around 8-10 to lessen chances of detonation. Down the track will be fitting a haltech e6k and by that stage will be upgrading turbo but will wait and see how it goes initally. I need to learn more about turbos anyway :|

 

then for the cosmetics...respray, bucket seats, interior goods and decent rims (superlite 15x7s). I'm not a big fan of the current rims on the car...just doesnt feel right. plus i want to negate the use of spacers. So if anyone's out there looking for a set of standard looking 5 spoke 15x7's let me know :)

mmm 15x7...unsure if theyd fit on my front...spacers would be a must...but I need 14" or bigger to clear my planned celica brake upgrade.

demuire:are you referring to the car in the pic? it's not mine...it's just a pic the previous owner had from when he had them on his sprinter.

 

irokin:prolly about 3-4 wks...looking about for a replacement set atm. As to the spacers i have 2 on the front atm which you could have...they're pretty thick actually & i just clear the struts. I'll make a reminder to measure thickness.

oh and if anyone wants an s series diff & drum assembly or a 1/2 dead 4a-c they can have them just need to pick them up.

no worries it's yours ...do you want the whole rear assembly or just the diff? Take your pick as anythinng else just goes to the tip. As soon as it comes out i'll let you know

I'll take the whole lot. The current diff in the red car is leaking from every orifice.

but at least the motor and rear end are out now. So i've got an s series diff & drum assembly ready to go.

 

mumblezzz, i assume your still after it...if so how do you want to get it? You can drive to the shop in capalaba anytime or you can wait until next week and pick it up from my place in sunnybank hills...let me know your thoughts :)

Anyhow, sounds awesome ... I hope it goes great and I know you've been hanging out for it for a very long time, is that you driving it in the 2nd pic? I saw a nice white sprinter at GE the other day, tho it wasn't a hatch it had a boot lid, deep dish rims, drift spoiler, I assume drift damage to the front left side - black gaurd. I thought you were back kicking some arse :o

 

Anyhow take it easy, I hope to get funds sorted out to fix up maxi and me and Arani will come along to a meet and say hello :devil:

i'm doing well...still bumming around. lol, yeah i know what you mean...it's been a while in the making & its finally time. Car is still in the shop but i should be getting it back tomorrow.

 

Thats not me or my car in those pics...i posted them as an eoi for the wheels which i will be selling as soon as i have enough cash for better ones. Those pics are from when the wheels were on the previous owners (Cal) car & its him @ qld raceway.

 

I know the car you're talking about....it must have had a mishap since i've seen it last as it didnt have the drift damage...it looks pretty nice though....mmm jdm levin coupe

 

I hope maxi is faring better than it was on the last update. Looking forward to catching up :D
