NEW WHEELS!! :D

I went with the 949's again, theyre a great wheel and very cheap for what you get! Same goes for my tyres, Kumho KU31's! They grip really well but as soon as you got that bit too fast on them they lose grip straight away and arent progressive at all, I'm putting that down to more of a new tyre syndrome rather than the tyre itself.

Met this guy as I was handing my tyres over to the shop and he has an Escort track car, with a turbo duratec motor, which does 1:35's around winton when it doesnt snap axles haha! From having previous experience with these cars and suzuki swifts he recommended a few things with the suspension, so the car is now lowered 25mm in the front and 35mm in the rear and after a string alignment to the toe settings he recommended the car is handling great!! Only one problem with running this low (which is surprisingly legal height still) is that the sway bar is hitting a lip on the body of the car, so some mods with an angle grinder will fix that :)

Now enough of my blabbering... PICZORS!!!

And then I drove into my drive way...

Removing more weight.. doesnt look suss at all with only one seat and no rear plastics! :P

I'm really tempted to remove all the sound deadening but it goes against the philosophy of this car lol! I'm borderline butchering it already! haha

I'm really surprised with the "ruined" suspension geometery how quick this thing is around corners! it just grips and grips and grips! Even in the wet! Although the rear needs a wheel alignment and stiffen up the rear sway... also some grinding action too stop the knocking haha

also signature photo with new rims ;) lol

strut brace ;)

^^ this. :P

Feels great, feels alot more solid in the rear and I feel there is less roll again. Car is handling better than ever, but it needs a few more tweaks before i take it racing again which should be very soon ;)

Very cool car. My wife wants one of these but in a 2 door. I told her the corolla was a better bet than the tercels that she has been looking at. I can't wait to see more track action!

Thanks mate! guessing that you arent from Australia are you?

2 doors are great and even better, the chassis are a lot stiffer and they weight less. They have a larger footprint to the tercels and a better suspension design.

Mate, I'm itching to get back out there myself... soon! ive got holidays coming up :)

Those Kuhmo's are a good wheel for the price, pissed I went for a $15 cheaper option (was broke as). I still have a pair on the front of mine and its been almost 18 months? Almost time for new ones though but I reckon if I had a decent wheel alignment I would of got another 3 months easy.

Yeah theyre a top tyre especially considering their price!! can't beat them... Went to the annual TOCAU cruise today and put them to their test through the hills. Must say the car is handling almost how i want it to. Definitely showing the newer corollas how its done thats for sure! ;)

Congrats on your gripshiftslide win, that is awesome!

Now question for you - TCCAV is running three teams in the Winton 6 Hour. Are you competing?

Team Corolla (which is 4 x AE82's and 1 x AE92 currently) could do with a sixth member.

You would fit in! Let me know if you are interested?
