This morning I sorted out the hunting issue, I can't believe I didn't realise this earlier, I knew about this part of the idle-up system but just completely skipped over it.

Throttle body off:

The cause of the problem(the cold-start/idle-up thingy):

The solution:

New gaskets made up and the blanking plate installed:

Me and my friend took it for another drive, it goes pretty good. Not quite as fast as I was expecting but it's still very fun.

^yeah man come check it out, I'm usually in Bangalow during the week. I'm coming to check out your car some day soon as well.

So today at work, instead of working I went and found the parts I needed to finish of my exhaust and intake:

I've also modified an AE82 4AGE air box, using parts from a VS Commodore air box, to sit in the corner where the overflow bottle used to be. It looks pretty neat, I'll post up a picture when I go back home.

Here's that airbox I was talking about, AE82 airbox with a VS Commodore airbox outlet:

Yesterday I sanded, cleaned and primed the whole exhaust system with some 1000*C primer. Then today I painted them, and soon I'm going to heat wrap the headers:

So stoked that my friend was kind enough to help me make the exhaust from the headers back (actually he pretty much made the whole thing because he's a boss at welding), it's a 2" mandrel bent over-diff system with a 300 cell cat, resonator and straight through muffler. It cost about $300 just in parts but I think it was worth it.

And while it was on the stand I took a picture of the ridiculous lack of droop up front compared to the ridiculous excess of droop in the rear (I'm going to sort this out one day):

And here is the new bumper, it sits a bit crooked:

And the interior is basically back together (I finally mounted the ECU in the original bracket, I had to mod it a little bit but it fitted up behind the glovebox nicely):

The overflow tank is mounted down beside the radiator on the drivers side, the charcoal canister is going to mount down near the chassis rail and I haven't figured out the washer bottle yet, I might try and find a smaller one from the wreckers, or get one that goes inside the guard.

Red one is power for the amps the other one is black split tube with all the other wires inside it. The guy before me ran everything through there to keep it tidy inside the bay.

Oh and there is an old red amp power wire still there that my central is hooked up to because lazy.

It all needs to be tidied, I might pull the front end off tomorrow. Needs to come off for the new apron and guard (if I can find a guard) anyway.

Bought something to keep me cool this summer:

It's an AE71 3 core aluminium radiator. It's about 20mm wider and 20mm thicker than a KE70 radiator, not only will it be a huge upgrade over the KE70 radiator but it puts the inlet and outlet on the correct side. So no more dodgey radiator hoses passing from one side of the engine bay to the other. However I'll definitely be replacing the radiator cap.
