Cleaning My Supercharger

Featured Replies

My SC has some well lots of surface corrosion, like you see on aluminum and it looks like shit. Question is though how would I go about cleaning it because it has all these little reinforcing 'lines' , which can not be taken off but a brush?

Suggestion welcomed, would.

That pic is not mine, but you get the idea of the reinforcing

well i keroed it, rust converted it and dremeled it to a somewhat disapointing result. The dremal brushed are to big to fit in all the pockets well. So i cleaned off the residue and sprayed it. Its currently drying in etch primer. And it looks so tuff. So I'm going to spray it saturn black. Still got some of the brake panint left over.

Every one says to use etch primer for stuff in engine bays, well any were makes the paint adhere better apparently. I used brake paint. I'm going to redo my rocker covers in this colour since there a little scratched from storage.

Etch Primer all the way...Oh and had you cleaned the supercharger with carby cleaner, and a rag....it would look like new...mine did :)

nulon carb cleaner also smells quite fruity, and doubles as a somewhat attractive cologne (caution: do not apply to bare skin)
