There was some hotrod place in brisbane I think it was that mod plated a mates roll cage when know one else would for some reason? Ill try to see where he was, he comes to you as well I think.

so according to the guy i rang, any car under 1100kg you multiply the weight by 2.5 and thats the engine capacity you can legally run? if the car is over 1100 you can multiply the weight by 4 and thats the capacity you can legally run, does that sound right?

Brendan, have you thought of doing the Mod plate course and become and engineer yourself?

Are the 2RZs imports or from a Hiace? The single-cam 2RZE in the Hiace is hardly inspiring and in my mind a pretty tame conversion, you'd be better off looking at a 3RZFE if it manages to scrape in under the capacity limit

i think it might just get under the limit. the only reason i was going to use the 2rz's was because they were basically free, the 3rz's are worth a bit more coin. a 2rz would make a substantial difference compared to an old 18r-c though

Not really, 2RZEs are only rated at about 88kw, only about 15kw more than an 18RC and barely more than a 22RE...

if we're being honest....there are many many engines out there that would be just as much work to put in, and 10x better when you are done.

 

like always, just because an engine is free, that doesnt make it a worthy recipient of an engine conversion.

 

22RE would be a bolt in job in the corona yeah? with the right bits? chuck on some extractors, and a decent intake while you are there and you would have a reasonable engine for very little.
