LittleRedSpirit Posted July 29, 2013 Report Posted July 29, 2013 Genki Sudo vs Dwayne Ludwig is a great fight! Quote
nerfbat Posted July 29, 2013 Report Posted July 29, 2013 (edited) agreed mate..! and it was at a time when Bang(training under Bas Ratten) was coming into his own, and not many peeps outside the J-MMA fans had only started hearing of Genki. i am a fan of Bang, still, but i felt Genki did enough to get the win, from memory(will have to rewatch now to confirm). if anyone is interested, google search 'Genki sudo fight entrances' or watch him clean out the west side(Chris Brennan run) grappling tournament. makes them all seem like amateurs. this guy is legit my old promoter and good friend has the same back tattoo, and he is such a fanboy that he went everywhere to find the guy who did it on Genki(can't remember where or who) no one has ever come close..! now he is one of the largest J Pop stars, and an ambassador for world peace, a great human being went off on a bit of a rant there, sorry Edited July 29, 2013 by nerfbat Quote

The ending was insane with Bang standing over Genki in the crane position, it was a classic moment in mma, a real life karate kid moment. Unfortunately I think that was Bang Ludwigs greatest mma achievement, besides probably his coaching of the alpha male team as those guys have started ko-ing all their opponents since Bang came to train them. nerfbat Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 (edited) i do agree with you there mate, all the boys at Team Alpha Male(T.J. in particular. probably due to being a relatively young dog, learning new tricks) have a crap tonne more confidence in their 'true MT striking', applied to MMA(if that makes sense, could go on, but it would turn into an even longer rant). i loved watching kick ass in the earl King of the Cage shows, pretty sure it was about the same time or just after Chris Brennan was dominating. i have always loved Bang, for bringing his style style into MMA arena(one of the purest Muay Thai strikers in the game, IMHO), it worked well for him for a while. if anything, if he could have spent more time on the mat, learning from a great wrestler(and i mean good mat time, not just a sesh here and there), he could have been bigger than say Chuck. and i love me some healthy debate, that fight was that close in my mind(a judge with a striking background would have leant more towards Bang, a ground specialist for sure would have leant towards Sudo. Cecil Peoples would have scored the fight 30-27 to Guida) I'm sure you get that joke lol and a GIF to keep it OT, love the ref's reaction. looks like the UK's Cage Rage event?
