Gonna get it sorted when I'm back in tassie next week as its sitting in the shed looking very sad. its completely stripped ready to be soda blasted inside & out. I bought a ke10 for a donor shell for all the good panels and interior. Ill also be removing the dash out of the donor and welding it into this car as its a lot nicer, must be a later model? Also will be swapping over the red interior from it into this car. Plan is to have a nice quick fun street car with a bit of poke. Just the way my little bro wanted it. the donor car Edited October 18, 2012 by brappin Quote
philbey Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Wow nice. What rear end are you running? Is it a shortened one and what length? Love those rear wheels, they looke amazing. Quote
brappin Posted October 6, 2012 Author Report Posted October 6, 2012 (edited) shortened hilux diff, can't remember how long it is but its pretty short! i still have to buy a good center and gears for it, but theres a lot of different centers online from the u.s and i don't want to buy the wrong one. the wheels fill the gaurds nicely, but theres not much room between the leaf hanger on the diff and the rim. BUZ440 Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 I quite like it in its current guise, Did you use a rotary crossmember or on the ke member? And doing it for the bro, something about them makes them more unique Quote
Jono.C Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 (edited) You know I'm keen to see this done Reegan! Edited October 7, 2012 by Jono.C Quote
brappin Posted October 7, 2012 Author Report Posted October 7, 2012 I quite like it in its current guise, Did you use a rotary crossmember or on the ke member? And doing it for the bro, something about them makes them more unique used the rotary mount and made a new crossmember that bolts in between the rails. i havent got many good photos of it. the ke crossmember is all cleaned up so theres nothing un neccessary hanging off it. You know I'm keen to see this done Reegan! i can't wait to finish it and cruise around poppin cherrys Quote
philbey Posted October 8, 2012 Report Posted October 8, 2012 shortened hilux diff, can't remember how long it is but its pretty short! i still have to buy a good center and gears for it, but theres a lot of different centers online from the u.s and i don't want to buy the wrong one. the wheels fill the gaurds nicely, but theres not much room between the leaf hanger on the diff and the rim. Any idea what your offset is? And if you would be so kind to measure track, I'll work out the rest. Are you expecting a lot of scrubbing or is it pretty clear to the guard lip. Love it. 16 by 8 is massive but I do enjoy the way it fills it out! Quote

brappin Posted November 18, 2012 Author Report Posted November 18, 2012 change of plans, selling the 12a setup and dropping a new series 6 extend port 13bt in. maybe even a simple half cage too. fun! Quote
brappin Posted July 3, 2013 Author Report Posted July 3, 2013 I’ve started working on this again. I got the Hilux diff under it last week. Cut out the old dash and welded in the one out of the parts car. There’s a couple of difference between the years but it fits with some small modifications. It’s only metal! Next on the to do list is mounts for the R31 rear calipers, run new brake and fuel lines, pull out the crossmember and clean up all the old engine mounts. Dash in Diff in 1 Quote
