Does that mean you left the sticker on or you didnt clean it after you removed the sticker?

ok so not as much progress as i had hoped but not too bad. Have had a new addition to the household so ive been busy making the house puppy proof lol 5 speed is now all good and it drives so no i know clutch is sweet. have got the spare diff centre out and cleaned. Have it soaking in acetone before welding to get all the diff oil out. Here are the belated pics i promised earlier vv

don't know much about these engines but did you have the head skimmed when you did the head gasket last time? slightly warped head could cause it the prematurely blow the gasket between cylinders

So i now have a deadline! First motorkhana for the season is FEB24 http://www.hsccq.com/upcoming-events/come-and-try-motorkhana/ Should be good to go. In the process of putting the 5 speed in so at least i can get there without blowing the 4k up on the highway. Put a new EXEDY clutch in while i was there. Wow those spigot bearings are a pain in the a$$ to get out arent they? Have been putting in 20 mins a day this week while i have light after working doing the gearbox work. Have redrilled crossmember and got all bellhousing bolts in last night before it got too dark to see what i was doing. So ive got left: Finish off gearbox - cut extra hole for different shifter position in ke70 5 speed Removed diff and weld up Make up some rails for a replacement seat i got and i think that should be it for the first motorkhana and see how it goes :thumbsup: Will hopefully put some pics up this arvo with gearbox in unless i get stuck at work longer :down:

Ok cool. I had a look at it last night and there is already heaps of backlash so i thimk either way i should sort it out. I'm familiar with marking blue and getting a good pattern just never played with a salisbury type diff so I'm not sure how to adjust

Hey Guys, I am going to lock the diff on my ke55 via welding the diff centre. I got a spare matched diff centre and pinion. My question is, how important is it that the specific pinion and crown wheel stay together and how do you adjust the gears together if I'm going to use a different centre with the existing pinion? Havent pulled it apart yet just wanted a bit of an idea before i did it. any help would be apreciated.

yeah pretty much all aftermarket systems and alot of modern cars would sound an alarm as soon as the door is opened. Old corollas on the other hand......

Not heaps has happened, got the exhaust done as mentioned before. It definitely runs alot better now. it still surges alot when cold but to be expected with no choke mechanism on the carby i guess. Got a steering wheel for chrissy so pumped about that looks pretty sweet. Some Pics:
