Ah ok cool. thanks guys. Just to confirm ... So when that black piece comes off the lower shaft has no thread on it? And is the k40 and k50 shifther the same? So ive got a practice one it i screw one up ....
-
i was guessing that there was nothing out there for a genuine short throw shifter so just shortening the gear lever i suppose ...
-
don't forget the extra 5kw too .....

Hello Guys, Ive noticed a few people talking about short shifters and asking "was it done properly or dodgy?" What is generally the best way to do it "properly" Have a ke55 currently with a 4 speed but have a K50 ready to go in.
-
that looks neat as. wish my lil 4k looked like that ....

otherwise you diff will be nice and central and youll have a pretty sweet steering wheel when you hit that tree coz your brakes arent working

Yeah from speaking to the HSCC guys they are good. don't care what youve got as long as your not an idiot at the events. They have come and try days too where anyone is welcome even n00bs like me haha. heres a video of me in my silvia at one at QR EDIT: its not usually wet it just happened to be after a good nights rain... so much more fun :)
-
again they pretty easy to get just fill out a form... not the cheapest thing around tho. from memory bout $120 for the level licence that you need. it is for 12 months tho so not too bad....

another one ive dealt with is Holden Sporting Car Club. don't worry last motorkhana i did there wasnt any holdens there. They do motorkhanas at QR at the drag strip. They are pretty cruisy and the scrutineering is next to nothing. I did some in my silvia it was awesome fun. You do also need a cams licence. When my KE is ready ill be doing as many as i can too :jamie:

can't tell if making fun of me or the picture ..... All good mustve held some sort of bracket at some stage like you said. Pulled it out and the hole went nowhere lol. Cheers.

Hello, more than likely a silly question.. but i had my master cylinder redone yesterday and it has a screw coming out the front of it. It is at home and I'm at work i didnt get a chance to get a photo of it so found this pic thanks to aidaniel. Is it just a screw that used to hold something on the end of the master? or is it something more important....

Need Help For Ke20 Gearbox Convertion
NinjaMekanik replied to KE20 MYS's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
yes it is internal. the aftermarket oil cooler kit may come with piping. If not then it will be easy to buy from any automotive store. just tell them what you are doing with the hose and they should be able to get you something as long as you know the lengths you require. If that 'pump' in the transmission isn't working the whole transmission wont work at all so you better hope it is working. As far as replacing it goes... i'm pretty new to the Toyota scene but i'm gonna guess that you wont be able to find any internal parts for the gearbox so it would be a better paperweight than a gearbox, however if i'm wrong feel free to join in anyone :) -
Need Help For Ke20 Gearbox Convertion

No you wont need another pump. Coolant does not go to transmission. It has an internal oil pump for transmission oil which will flow to your new oil cooler once plumbed up -
riteo. Cheers.

Hey mate whats your plans with the rear where youve taken the bumper off? I'm still deciding as to how to patch mine up after bumper removal.

Need Help For Ke20 Gearbox Convertion
NinjaMekanik replied to KE20 MYS's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Yeah mate the piping from the radiator doesnt carry coolant to the transmission it is to cool the auto trans oil. Like flyinwall said your cheapest and easiest option would be to get an aftermarket oil cooler and mount it yourself. Would perform better than the stock radiator anyway. -
Fitted my handbrake and now normal brakes don't work hmmm. No matter what i did i couldnt get it bled started at lhr pumped like 500ml of brake fluid and kept coming out airated..... Pulled the master cylinder off gonna get it reco'd. Hoping thats it. Any other suggestions?
