  1. good job with the bodywork so far. Like the flares too ;) sorry i don't know much about the chrome bumpers. I'm sure someone on here will lend a hand
  2. ah rito so your using the flywheel from the donor car which originally had the manual anyway. I see. All good. :2thumbs:
  3. how old is the battery? when you say the battery is good.. before you mentioned it was 68% but still said good? i would have replaced the battery at that stage. with a reco'd alternator it is probably the only thing left other than wiring gremlins. The most obvious solution is usually the right one.
  4. Not speaking from experience with these exact clutches but usually the splined nose points away from flywheel because if the other way around it can contact the flywheel. And if that is the spigot bearing .. thats the one that sits in the middle of the flywheel. Just replace it but if you want to get it out, bang it with a hammer and a socket and take it with you to a bearing shop and they should easily be able to get one for ya. It is usually best to replace it anyway for the sake of a cheap bearing it will save you the possibility of having bearing noises from there later
  5. Hey mate, Just found this looks great man good effort. Any progress in the celica?
  6. was thinking about getting something from them as well. Have you bought from them LongJohnSilver?
  7. I find the easiest way to line up the clutch is doing by feel. When you have the pressure plate slightly more than finger tight if you jam your finders in the side so you can feel the pressure plate and clutch disc on your fingertip. just do that all around the edge until you think its centered while using a screwdriver to carefully adjust the position of the clutch disc. And make sure you put the clutch disc in the right way, coz it you put it back to front you have to take it all out again and start from scratch. Your kit should have diagrams in the box.
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but i think it would be cheaper and easier to fly to australia, buy a two door, and have it shipped back. Wait... where are you from arysms? Of course you wouldnt have that sense of achievement from completing such a massive job but hey ... I'm lazy lol
  9. Yea 5cm sounds a bit tight. How dd it make it notchy? Was it made too short mayb?
  10. Yea I'm pretty happy with the lip. The silvia is fun... Pretty damn fast but so expensive to run. Rb parts are bullshlt expensive. I had it for like a month and the t belt broke, bent all valves like a bannana. Was bout 3 grand to fix with me doing labour!
  11. Also took some picsof the front end with the new front lip - thanks to DPM automotive cheers mate. Shows the poor silvia being ignored. Kind of ironic I'm focusing my time on the lil corolla whin i have an RB26DETT powered silvia sitting there built to drift hahaha. hmmmm oh well. I bought the silvia like that though so i have no pride in it. Whereas the lil corolla is my build from a standard granny spec. Still not sure if making right choice by focusing time on this instead of silvia.. will see when i take the corolla out finally!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. So this is what i found when i started cleaning up the rear bar :abuse: so shlt. oh well. Looks like ill have to do the same to cover up. Want to run a few races/motorkhanas/whateva before i spend heaps of time on the body, want to make sure I'm happy with the car. Jus gonna get rid of rust and cover up for now so its at least "presentable". When I'm happy with performance and handling ill get back and focus on making the body sweet as. EDIT: the little weld on patches on the LHS was my doing ..... never welded sheet metal before so leave me alone haha the RHS was there beforehand ... id like to think mine was a better job??
  13. looks ok ... might help if the pics werent upside down
  14. This is the sickest. I don't suppose you would mind a stocko ke55 having a try on your track? just keep the 4wd ready to tow me out haha. Good job man wish i had a track to practice on
  15. Good build mate just found this thread. The sickest.... Good to see all that effort getting you plenty of Cudos
  16. So cool man. Love the colour choice. Those California plates look bada$$ too haha 8D
  17. this looks pretty sweet mate. Will be keeping an eye on this one ;)
  18. So i started to patch up the holes in the back of the bumper. Started to sand back the paint and I was stunned at the previous attempts to fix this. The rear bar is pretty much constructed from bog .... will upload pics tomorrow. Too scared to start the rest of the car or it will turn into a massive bodywork project which i didn't really want to tackle at this stage
  19. yeah will see how it goes. There is enough slack in the flexible lines that i can just switch it around and re-orientate the lever if i need so all good. Mostly motorkhana stuff anyway so will pretty much be 1st or 2nd gear action. don't think the lil 4k will be enough to make it a drift machine. Have an SR20 at home but don't want to get involved in a engine transplant as of yet .... wanna make sure the chassis and suspension is right before i do that.
  20. lucky you don't have to drive it hey ....
  21. yeah i get it styler, so in other words redwarf's way is definitely seems like the better way to go. Don't have access to any machine shop though...
