  1. ok cool thanks for the tip.
  2. so anyone been out to archerfield recently for drifts? Do they still run them?
  3. ok small update no pics yet Pretty sure problems with carby are all sorted. Was two things. 1. Crap fuel 2. The new extractors i had fitted had HUGE welds connecting the manifold flange to the pipes on cylinder 3. This meant when the bolt on the bottom of the manifold was tightened it bottomed out on the exhaust however did not geet close enought to get a sufficient seal on the intake manifold. - Trap for young players. So ground the weld down an bit and rechecked now heaps better. Still notperfect but that may be down to the exahust now. Exhaust is booked for next saturday. Getting 'hot dog' resonator with 2" all the way. Any thoughts on muffler?
  4. if its metal on metal that is a pretty horrible noise it would be hard to miss. Were you giving it some 'spirited driving' before you pulled over? Could be a partially seized caliper or slide seized mayb?
  5. Technically you will be doing to same motion to reach for the handle as the operation of mine will already be complete before you even get a grip on the handle to pull so thats where my logic came from but yeah like i said. See how it goes ...
  6. yeah i dunno i thought it would be less awkward but hey i could be wrong. Ill find out when i get it going. I have enough slack in the lines to simply swap it 180 degrees. Plus in that location where i wanted it to have to Pull instead the lever would be quite far forward and i would need to reach to get at it. - I Guess with a longer handle it would reduce that..... I picked push and that spot to have a quick operation and then hands back on the wheel.
  7. there is also the hotspark ignition conversion which a few people on here have had success and will be the next thing i do to mine. They are on Ebay and also from the supplier direct. Basically replaces the contact breaker points. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Electronic-Ignition-Conversion-Kit-for-4-cylinder-BMW-2000-2002-Tii-M10-e21-320i-/310525617091?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item484cc4e3c3&_uhb=1#ht_21767wt_1037
  8. just redrill it mate. did the same thin on my ke55 when i put sigma LCAs in. the standard sigma hole was too far out. EDIT: not sure what the go with the picture there is... wont embiggin. you get the idea though ....
  9. wheels look sweet man. looking forward to seeing them on
  10. are they adjusted correctly and/or excessively worn?
  11. Thats how i got my ke55. sat in front of this little old ladys house for months and never moved so i just rocked up and said, I can give you $500 and ill get that off your front lawn for you? she was like rito. *Winner*
  12. so many haters on the comments. losers. haha. i want one ...
  13. Hmmm keen to piss off my neighbour lol. Cheers. How does the dry ice method work? I'm guessing it freezes it and then it comes off easier?
  14. Hey Andy, What is the best way to remove all of that sound deadening? i started with a razor blade but it seemed like it was going to take all day. and then i gave up lol.
  15. Hey mate, interested to see how your handbrake goes there. When are you planning on getting it plumbed up and giving her a test? Mine is set up similar just swapped around and i ran flexible hoses through the firewall forwards. I'm not sure how mine is going to go so if you get it up and running id love to know how you go. This is mine vv
  16. That wasnt targeted at you Greesr. just frustrates me when people ask questions when the answer is right there if they read properly
  17. just buy the right kit instead of modding it (which was spoon fed to ya) and you will be able to fit it in. if that is too hard then mayb you should be paying someone else to do it.
  18. rito so i pulled it all off last night. Gave the carby a clean and set the float. It was pretty much spot on anyway. Need to get another manifold gasket as i tore it taking it off Grrr. its stuck to the exhaust pretty hardcore even tho it was only sitting on for a week. The fuel did look pretty crappy and the tank is really low, so its probably sucking in some crap from the tank. Would it be worth doing a full drain of the tank or just top up with clean fuel? Have to wait now anyway to get a new manifold gasket. Will be couple weeks as ive got few things on the next couple of weekends
  19. Ill pull it off again, check all gaskets again and clean out the carb and reset float while I'm there was hoping to drive it to exhaust shop :ninja: to save towing/car trailer hire so was trying to sort it out first (its not that far) but ill see how it is after i take it all off and put back on again. if its still no good ill get the exhaust done before going any further.
  20. unsure of what type i scavenged it off another corolla and no i don't have a regulator. It worked on standard with no issues and the standard had no return line. Is the job of the float to close off the fuel inlet when it reaches the desired level? after i had it running i pulled the top of the carby off and the fuel bowl wasnt overflowing or anything, from memory it was about half full which seemed to be ok?
  21. Have not adjusted float level. How is that done? I can't find any leaks
  22. How much effect do main and air jets have at idle? It seems to rev ok but the idle just keeps surging
  23. oh really? didnt even think of that.... would it make that much difference?
  24. Hello, I posted this in my rides thread but ill put it here too, I have recently put a weber 32/36 on my 4k and fitted extractors at the same time. The carby came off a 18RG? i think. I can't get it to idle stable. It seems to be very rich at idle. Have attempted to tune according to basic settings and will continue to surge at idle and when backed off from accelerating will drop and nearly stall. I have checked: 1/ Ignition timing - 10BTDC at idle and advance is working on acceleration. 2/ used starter spray to check for air leaks, couldnt find any. when i replaced it i replaced all gaskets including manifold gasket and used aviation sealant on carby and adaptor plate gaskets 3/ Have checekd jets, it has Primary/Secondary 140/135 mains 160/175 Air 50/55 Idle 4/ it idle very well before carby swap It has an electric fuel pump fitted which worked on standard carby with no problems My questionsn are 1/ Shoud the air jets be larger on the secondary instead of mains? 2/ Do i need a fuel return line, at the moment i have blocked it and i suspect this may be a problem? The red arrow is fuel in The green arrow is blocked fuel return the blue arrow is the vac adavance hose 3/ any other suggestions? Please see youtube video of what it is doing,
  25. i did .. poor car
