Axle Tramping With 4Age?

My Datsun 1200 with a stock A12 motor had axle tramp. And that's a Datsun A12 motor, not a 12A Rotary.

If you are serious, you will need to look at improving axle location with trailing arms, panhard rods etc, and having adjustability in your spring hangers to adjust pinion angles etc etc.

Here is some light reading for ideas. If it worked for an Escort, it will work for you, though unfortunately you can't buy these bits for a Corolla of the shelf.

I had tramp issues bad on my 55 there are many options to fix it currently running modified 10mm overleaf seems to work well so far but sticky slicks will tell in the next few weeks. I have tried slapped bars they work awesome but are far from legal I have purchased materials to fab "caltrac" bars which I'm informed are tunable to get good launches but SRD assasain bars are another option to look at.

So are tramp rods, assasin bars etc. all illegal?

meaning the only option is to add some leafs to stiffen it up?

I was pulled over and defected while my car was fitted with slapper bars the cop said he couldn't defect me on them as they were not a compliant item and only dept of transport (QLD) could issue me with a fine for them but then searched for 20mins to find something he could defect me on......... At least caltracs and assassin bars look more standard issue reset and extra leaf will of course bring the least amount of attention

We cut a leaf from a spare spring set and mounted it upside down on Rob's KE55 khana car. It was clamped onto the leaf pack at the front and extended behind the axle slightly to get clamped by the U-bolts. Taking the bottom (stiffest) leaf out gave room for it. Sadly things changed and we never got to use the car enough after that to really make sure what difference it made. We'll get back into it in a year or two...

Can't be hard- Although I'd make a pair to go beside the springs rather than underneath and not lose the road height.

That would mean welding a foot onto the diff on each side. and while you're there you might as well make a panhard rod!!

Just search anti-tramp bars in google images.
