TRD ke70 Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 Alot of work to change it to 5 bar link, but i can see the reason why. NO diff steer. Quote
coln72 Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 (edited) Seems to be a lot of work for a little gain. edit - beat me :( Edited March 3, 2015 by coln72 Quote
altezzaclub Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 Just stick a few bars in beside the leafs... You'd need the chassis mounts for the bars anyway, but retaining leafs means you don't have to worry about the coil's seating points. I thought you'd have thinner leafs lying around where you shave the sides to reduce the spring rate. I'm sure it would be easy enough to swap one leaf pack for another, even if not as easy as coils. Have one really soft set for smoothish dirt, one with more lift for dirt with yumps, and one stiff low one for tarmac work. Then have lower bars and a panhard rod to stop it winding up and walking around the place. Quote
Jono.C Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 The problem with a Ke30 is more the front end not the rear.. No point switching the back and not touching the front. Quote
styler Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 What about running one leaf to locate and provide the suspension direction and using a range of softer swap in coil springs... Would probably need a panhard rod to locate the system and then of course the upper towers and lower bottom mounts would be quite a bit of work unfortunately. Also the standard multilink rear end was a vast improvement over the standard leaf spring suspension issues that were part of the design. Maybe just get 3 leaf packs made up but it does take a while to replace them... Quote
