Super Jamie Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 everyone here likes to think about cars, besides what we're all going to do to our current cars, no doubt everyone's got some wild idea that is never going to happen, but you like to think of it and talk about it anyway. what sort of wild dreams do you guys have? here's a few of mine feral 3k motor i've got some 040 pistons, a spare bigport head, several sets of 4k valve gear, a 3k bottom end with a bill of sale, some second hand bearings that are pretty fresh. i'd love to just get a gasket set and some 040 rings, and slap it together with a cam. to keep it truly budget, a set of standard pistons would be better (none of this fancy boring business) and a quick hone, who cares about bore clearance. $300 engine, put cheap oil in it and thrash the f@$k out of it until it died. i think i'd be thrashing it for a surprisingly long time as an aside, i'd like to go all out on that spare head. full professional big valve race port, probably worth $800 or so. the 3k would be quite an amusing bottom end to stick such a head on. another other k motor goody i'd like would be a jun 3.2kg alloy flywheel (only $1110 from speedworks in WA). yes, jun do make a part for a 4k! (actually 2 parts, the 3.7kg flywheel is $990). my lightened stock flywheel is 7kg series 5 rx7 turbo i love these things, they just look so good, you can get them to drift like a motherf@$ker, and turbo rotaries are so easy to get big power out of. buy a decent japanese one for about $15k, throw another $6k into the engine bay (dyson rebuild, cooler, hiflow) plus exhaust, stiff suspension, nice wheels and you'd be set. if i worked hard and paid all my shit off i could probably do this in reality next year, but you have money to have a life beyond your car (don't you? come on, talk me out of it, quick) mitsubishi lancer evolution iv even a stock one would be enough to keep me happy. just a simply beautiful car. however i don't have $40k-$50k and you can't register them here yet anyway. looks like i'll have to stick to gran turismo 2 toyota hilux minitruck candy apple red paint job. big chrome bar, huge wheels, dumped on its arse on airbags - the kind of airbags how you can drive down the street and make the car jump, like in bling bling rap film clips. high quality stereo, a stock motor would be good enough, and just a quiet chrome cannon out the back, this ute is all about looks and cruising mmm escapism :P Quote

demuire Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 Dream car? An Evo. I used to be a big fan of the Ferrari Testarossa, that was before I was old enough to know anything. And then the Evo came out. And I've been rather hooked on them ever since... Anything newer than an Evo1 and I recon I'd be happy. As an ultimate dream? Evo5, 6 TME or 8. Not a major big fan of the 7's, but I wouldn't complain... If all that failed... I think I'd like a Lotus Elise. Or maybe a Series 7 or 8 RX7, the batmobile. I like them. Or a Skyline GTR. I like them too. Although neither of them are really very practical cars. If I really wanted a practical car I recon I'd buy a Nissan Stagea. Then again, I don't like big cars much. Evo. Give me an evo any day... *edit* darn it, not only do I miss my GSR, but if I didn't roll it I'd be the happy owner of an Evo3 right now :( Quote
Super Jamie Posted May 21, 2004 Author Report Posted May 21, 2004 mmm stagea would also be phat. i was trying to talk my mum into buying one of them when she was shopping for a new car recently, but she decided they were too big and got an SP23 instead series 9 rx7 should be out soon, according to an aquaintance of mine who runs lismore's mazda dealer Quote
Teddy Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 Dreem Car ey... well 2 years ago i couldnt wait to get a car, and started to look @ Cars, and eventually Corollas, and Ke70s (back then i only new them as the cool car!) Now that i have a ke70, and its lookin smuck, i coudlnt be happier - it hasnt cost me a overrated, it looks the way ive always wanted my first car to look like, I'm doing stuff on it all the time without the hassle of teachers saying no u can't do that, and u must do this.. blar blar blar - and best of all theres rollaclub :) But back onto the dreem car, i spoze ive never really thought about it, but 1 car which i was very intrested in (early stages of lookin 4 cars) was the first generation Rx7 :D (1979 - 1985 or so) - but then i started looking into running costs, insurance, repairs, Rego, Etc - and the price just went WOooooom out the roof - its a first car, not a $10,000 road roawer thats gona make me 2 tempted to drive fast - and get a back reputation with the coppas :P Still, i must say u can't beat the sound of a purebred rotory, although now the K motors have got me hooked, and thats a fact ! (simply becuse i can understand them, they are cheapish to look after, and there are plenty of parts for them....*looks up at nicks car*....*....*... :fuzz: ... ohhh i like nicks rolla lol*) Eventually ill move on, but don't expect that to be some time soon. I still havnt mentioned the dream car question... Ahhh - (takes a wild pint) - 1275CC Cooper S (1964) - Red Body, 2 Black Stripes, Black and red vinal / leather interiour (not that leather that is all bumpy and wrinkely) - TA22 Celica thats had the works - kinda a show car :) - Still like the shape of the generation 1 Rx7 :D - how could i forget, the Ke70 :) - Quote
ae71neo Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 Umm so many cars i want. Audi RS6 would be in my garage, along with EVERY GTR skyline model. AE86, Elise 111R with 2zz oh god i couldnt list everything, ttooo much. Quote
andrew Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 if i could have any car it would be a 1966 pontiac gto with the 389 tri-power v8 (it has 3 x 2 barrel carbs) with the muncie "rock crusher" 4 speed box and silver paint and rally 2 wheels. oooooooooooohhhhhhh yeeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!! :P Quote

Super Jamie Posted May 22, 2004 Author Report Posted May 22, 2004 talking to one of the couriers at work the other week, hes casually talking about the racecar he's got with his son. i ask what it is, a 60s anglia (harry potter car) with a 20 grand cossie donk with dry sump pushing 230bhp. fark me :fuzz: if stock supras are anything to drive like they are in gran turismo (and from my experience with fwd corollas, gt is pretty accurate) i would be pissed off if i bought one i don't think i'll ever own a car younger than me :P Quote
