adam, this ultratune thing was titled to a guy called ken, and had an address literally around the corner from me.

i just talked to the guy that lives there now (he knows ken) and said that it DEFINITELY has a new clutch kit in it, and he reckons $1400 was spent on it.

 

I'm willing to bet that they got the quote from ultratune because it was close, then got the work done elsewhere.....

 

so i am REALLY REALLY hanging out to compression test cyl. 4!!!

wasnt it f@$king up when we use it on the celica.

 

It told us that it was dead and it was certainly correct. It has playing up up today though, I really need to pull my finger out and fix it properly (I intend to do this tomorrow).

I went with Adam to test this 4age round the corner today and it decided to carry on, did tell us that No's:3 & 4 appear to be right down though I would like to go back and get readings wet and dry when I fix it 100%.

I thought it was me that was the bringer of bad news, you have made me feel better. I will blame my tools from now on.

 

The 4A at BJ's? What sort of readings did it pull? I imagine the wet and dry will be vastly different, but suppose time will tell.

 

And yes I do feel guilty if roys forklift got bogged... seeing we didn't need him to lift the car anyway! :)

With the slightly dodgy compression test we got about 125-150 on Cylinder 1, 100-125 on Cylinder 2, and nothing on Cylinder 3 or 4. |blink|

I will try to fix the compression tester today, did not get around to it yesterday as I was busy with family. We can give it another try later in the week Adam?

There was some compression in 3 & 4, I would not proclaim doom until we have done it again with properly working tools.

 

Don't be too fussed over the forklift Daniel, I offered to help him get it out at the time and he said he couldn't be stuffed. Was just teasing you.
