anastasios Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 hey guys while repairing the rust in my brothers ae71 and thinking of doing the short bumper on the rear, i put the plastic bumper behind my ke55 with ke30 chrome bumpers, i looked again and could see that the widths were the same, so anyway off came the ke30 bumpers and i put them onto the ae71, i think they look pretty cool and with brand new lights on the way, it should look hot Quote
JiP Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 WoW, it actually sits very well. Great job. :( Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 Will be interesting to see what it looks like when it's complete. It sort of doesn't look right, but maybe it will just take some getting used to, it doesn't look stupid though, which usually means it will grow on you Quote
ancullen Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 It looks great, but just needs to sit a little higher to cover the original bumper groove in the bodywork. Also, it'd be cool if you could put in different numberplate lights that sit flush with the top of the bumper so you can't see them from behind. VERY nice work. Quote
ancullen Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 Oh, and to finish it off you'll need a chrome bumper for the front, plus the black side strips will need chroming or removing. Then it will look super sweet! I'm thinking about getting into the chroming business myself, so if you're keen, just PM me. Quote
JiP Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 Where are the number plate lights usually located on a 70?? Are they also in the bumper?? Quote
anastasios Posted September 29, 2006 Author Report Posted September 29, 2006 i can't remember if its the same for a 70 but yea they in the 71 bumper, don't we all hate rust, should look better once its all clean, lowered with exhaust etc, anyone have any good pics of those twin diagonal pipes, not cannons but straight pipe? Quote
Raven Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 I say install flush mounted numberplate lights and it will look a heap better. Quote
anastasios Posted September 29, 2006 Author Report Posted September 29, 2006 how should i do that?? Quote
Jason Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 to be honest i think it looks far from perfect the bumper dosnt folow the stright edge stlying of the car, youd be better off trimming the plactic bumpers. but each to there own Quote
Des Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 Like ancullen said it needs to be moved up to the original bumper lines then i think it would look sweet as. :( Quote
anastasios Posted September 29, 2006 Author Report Posted September 29, 2006 yea i know it has to be moved up relax its balancing on that little metal strip lol and looks way better than any shortened bumpers ive seen Quote
JiP Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 At least it doesn't stick out as far as a KE70 bumper. Quote
