Hey guys, my names Chris Smith. I am 16 and this is my panel van. its a litte rough around the edges, well lot. theres alot of problems with it, like the diff is gone. they guy says it has a locker in it but i have a feeling its been welded. its got the 4k in it with a 5 speed. ummm I'm not to good with words so i think ill let the pictures do the talking. THINGS TO DO to fix up all the body work repaint either baby blue, peppermint green or skye blue fix up the inside of it fix all the little problems with the engine fix the diff repaint rims and just what ever else that needs to be done I'm still trying to find another pair of these if any one can help out in adelaide going to get rid of the twin side drafts and run a single one due to i see this as being over kill and is putting way to much petrol thought the little motor and also due to the fact that carbie number 2 the guts of it has fallen out. I have just bought a full set of interior for 120 bucks not bad dash isnt cracked or any thing its blue so I'm changing from brown to blue. ill be updating tomorrow if all goes well plenty of pictures to come thanks for tuning in chris

do you know of any good online walk throughs. it has a locker and there is a lot of play in the left axle so pull it apart and see if its repair able?

so I'm going to need to find a panel van diff?

Do you have any ideas on a manifold to suit this set up? What size jet should I start looking at? They wouldn't be mine either but I have two and could get one good one out of the two

Hey guys havnt really had much involement till now, since I got my first car. My problem is.. At the moment I have twin 40mm solex side drafts. I have been hit by the curse of the solex my ventura(sorry if it's not spelt right) has fallen out of one of my carbs. I am thinking about running a single 40mm carb. Would this do the job with out leaning out or spread the fuel mix uneven? My reason for this is that I have found for the one carb that's working that its putting to much fuel in and it's going to waste, and I can probely build one good carb up out of the two. should i look for a auto one(less chance of beeing thrashed)? what would you not pay for a diff qny thing over say $150?

hey guys I'm thinking about buying a ke70 panel van. it has a winy diff though. whats the best way about this and the cheapest? buy a diff from the wreckers and hope its good? or get it rebuilt? thanks guys

so with that does the small turbo get powered by all the cylinders, then feed the larger turbo? or does the small on get powered by two cylinders, larger turbo powered by two? so I'm just confused in how they are set up :hmm:

thing is with having one small and one big turbo wouldnt the small turbo spin to fast and be out of the limits of its capability? or because its the first turbo or they arnt blowing though each other it doesnt spin to fast? I'm quite interested in variable pitch turbos, they seem like a great idea being able to offer the same pressure at all RPM correct me if I'm wrong

It would be intresting to learn more about the under 1 litre turbo because if you can do that what's stopin you making quite abit of power?

It reallyjust comes down to what you want to do, there's reasons for twin turbo and for single. But maybe the single turbo is just the way to go it's simple and produces good power and if set up right not much lag

wel you have to have your L's for 12months 75 hours P's can't drive v8 turbo or any thin over 3 litres i think it is but you can drive turbo diesels and you have P1 for 12months P2's for anotuher 12months limited amount of passingers and you can't be out driving later then 12am or some thing like that volvo seem to be pretty good with there diesel's maybe that might be a good appounshion to?thta what i thought about good power eays on the wallet when it comes to the pump and so on

that would be the next question why wouldnt a hilux turbo diesel do it ?

does any one think putting a turbo diesel in a rolla would be worth it wiht the new laws for P plates and so on coming in soon for SA. would this be fun or not ?
