The Rebuild Of Slw42 Version 2.0 Ke55 Coupe
Chillin replied to Undertaker_is_the_best's topic in Rollaclub Rides
Nice to hear you scored a 5 speed. Are you still having drama's with the whipers? ps. very keen to see this in the flesh when you come to pic up the wheels! -
Hey guys, just had a search on the forum and FAQ/wiki could not find anything to confirm. Does a Ke70 wagon diff have the same leaf spring mounts as a ke30/ke55 and will the sway bar on a stock 70 wags diff bolt straight into a 55 update? cheers
-
Looking good dude, are you going to stick with the black bonnet? How far are you off a RWC?
-
Loving the progress mate, not liking the fact you removed the update tail lights! If you don't mind me asking, what setup are you running on the front suspension?
-
As far as I'm aware the engine would not produce enough exhaust to create back pressure, unless 1'1/2 or smaller pipes were used. what diamiter twins are you thinking of? EDIT: worded wrong
-
Loving the look dude. just curious how much the diff set you back?
-
Few new pics from the hills. Have now welded on a dump tip to keep the oil dust off my bar :D Also pulled the rear guards out a little more. enjoy

Spotted: light blue (green p plater, stickerd up, pretty stock) ke70 along nerang southport rd just before. the passengers could not get enough of me and brads 55's :D
-
As the lads above said, 3k is almost the most they go for. It's hard to say goodbye to all that money spend, but you know it was never 'wasted money'. ps. i will take those 20mm spacers off your hands if you're keen? $$

I got all 5 of mine off a 31

I've been informed by my local Nissan wreckers that the odd bluebird and r31's came with full sets of 15's. other than that you will need to find multiple r31's to scavenge the spares out of. You may get lucky and score all 5 15's at once, but most likely you will have to run around a few places to find them all.

Congrats on the purchase, I'd been watching that particular vehicle for a while wondering when someone would snap it up. Welcome to the forum! I'm not sure how some members come to the conclusion that lowering blocks are 'unsafe', But I do not find this a problem if installed and maintained properly. Currently I run flipped eye with extra leaf added to the pack, plus 2 1/2' blocks. Up front I run a Subaru brumby short stroke shocks with standard springs shortened under tension. The package stacks up quite nicely and is firm through the hills. The front travel has been reduced a considerable amount causing a fair amount of camber too, this gives the extra little stance to grip through the windy stuff. Running 14's and it rides around the 94mm from the sills with full fuel and driver. *I know that is 'too low' for the law but if your a sensible driver and keep the car nice and clean the :fuzz: will keep of your back*. Hopefully some of the older and well educated members of the forum jump onto this thread as they would have a few tricks ans suggestions to share in regards to suspension. Cheers Hayden

Have you considered any diff/brake/suspension upgrades to accommodate or the extra power, weight and speed?
-
Nice score, It's a much better 'point A' than the pearl. ps. please tell me you aren't thinking of keeping that sticker on!
-
Love the roof racks man!
-
anything over 6 inches wide on a 17" rim will not work out they would also need to have a lot of positive offset as the turning path on the front will scrub within the wheel wells on a low offset rim. don't even bother if the profile of the tires are over 45. Don't get me wrong, it is possible to have 17's but you are very limited in tire/rim choice that will not need alterations to you're wells.
-
try replacing the front shocks with subaru brumby short stroke shocks, will keep the front tighter and pull the rear roll down.
-
Trx rims have the same problem that r31/early s13 15 steelies had. the offset is large and will contact on the front struts with any reasonable tyre choice. they also contact the rear wheel arches under hard corner forces (with 60 + profile). 20mm spacers are a good option up front as they sit slightly in the guard, this also could be translated to the rear to minimize tire scrub through body roll. your tire choice is also quite important 60 profile will work but 50 or less would be advised. feel free to hit me up with any question about this topic, as i could jimmy up a pictorial for you. also what is you front suspension setup like? that dramatically effects the rear roll cheers

Phil came with us for a drive on Saturday, i think his referring to 'was phat when he seen it in the flesh' I am also looking into the wheels getting polished to super shinny and the roof racks to be chrome dipped. Aiming for a JDM cross granny spec theme, so keep tuned....

New shoes WHOOOOOO! she now sits alot lower and has a mean stance. will try to get more pics from my photo man. check out his blog (has a mean 1200) enjoy.
-
New front end bushes today! tightened up all the front end suspension and added another leaf to the pack on the rear. overall i am extremely happy with the handling, getting amazing grip and length through the gears . may have some footage/ stills on the way....
-
wow that thing look identical to mine when i came in possession of it!
-
Thats plush! keep the great work up. also looking forward to interior remodeling plans, sounds overrated.
-
Gave the beast a detail today and polished the shinny bits, she came up a treat. currently looking at a closed door respray of the car of the original color (possibly just the rear to get it looking ok again). I've herd down the line that autobarn can order in the original beige paint? can anyone shed some light on this? Just a pic from today's muck around. Cheers Hayden.

He has too many rolla's and should share them around! that is the problem
