  1. I recon it will look awesome! keep us posted via progress pics!
  2. Just stick with the trusty old 4k's if you abuse it, change the engine over every 3 months with the oil, for around $100. k's don't like boost on a 'tight budget' Being an apprentice you will not have the money to work/ maintain it much. my 2c
  3. Why not just static low? if you were to bag it, would you go all 4's or just the rear?
  4. Purchased a sweet 5k last weekend, currently giving it a once over while i get a manifold for the carbies. Rust repair is set to begin in the next few weeks then paint!!! I don't have a camera atm, but have taken the roof racks off... love it! Will be attending the all jap classic on the 20th of this month, hopefully engine will be in.
  5. Please keep us updated, i have the same problem!
  6. Awesome work! Sounds like she is running like a dream.
  7. If any members are making the trek up from the Gold Coast we have a few dudes going up together, all welcome to join, thinking a 6:30 GC departure time, details will be posted in thread closer to date, hope to see more rolla's than last year!
  8. Twin solex side draft's purchased, watch this space over the weekend!
  9. Detailed pics are needed!
  10. Update time, overrated dash + dash pad fitted yesterday, whole car given a once over + tune. she is running very smooth! pics to come once i find my camera. Below: updated height and setup in the rear, It is also is the last picture i managed to get with my brothers 55 coupe before it was stolen :(
  11. What woild you notice more.... a thief with a screwdriver in his pocket or a thief with a steering wheel. most thiefs will just move onto the next car if they seen either option, but no stering wheel would be more deturing
  12. Yes you do. But i run a stock exhaust so i don't think the 5.0 will worry to much about poping the hood. People up here are pretty relaxed witch is awesome :)
  13. Local wreckers want $1100 for a 7k, will try the toyota spec wreckers tomorrow but i do not hold to much hope. looks like engine may have to wait a couple of weeks :( Frontal stance, may need lip!
  14. Roof racks FTW! looking great man, well done on your wrecker scores too.
  15. Sorry bro, I'm trying to nut out where your coming from. Your comment sounded to me like you had the rear height of your 55 to 2' lower than mine and still legal. 60mm from the sills is illigal in QLD thats why i was hasseling for answers. Now i get that you were working from stock height, and nothing to do with the update. Cheers for the pics to clarify what you were saying.
  16. So how do the above pictures depict this quote? what base hight were you working from?
  17. I ran 20mm bolt on's on the front to clear. with std 13' 175x65's
  18. std bumps will not let you go any furthur than 130mm from sills. so you would be running 150mm ish from sills. hardly 2' lower.
  19. I understand completly what you have done, i just can't fathem how far you claim it has lowerd the car. fliped eye and 2 1/2 blocks got me to just above bumps, hard to picture just a fliped leaf getting the same result. Fliping the eye itself would lower the pack a good 1' further than your 'cut eye fliped' to a stock pack method.
  20. This is mind f@$king the shit out of me. could you possaible get pics?
  21. I can't see how that would produce and more 'low' than a reversed eye pack with added rebound leaf. You're running 2 1/2' blocks and standard bumps right?
  22. yes it is challange being that low, reflectors on the road are like speed bumps. was not practical at all. I do not have a working spedo, never have. getting that fixed soon. I'm still curious on how you managed to be 2' lower than 110mm from the sills and still be legal?
  23. what rims/tyres are you running? i had 15x195x65 and could get it to 90mm from the sills slammed on rails.
  24. Hey guys, Today i did a little work on the rear end. removed the bump stops as the car was sitting on them, shortend and put back in. car sat diff on chasie (65mm off sills) and rear tyres were jammed in the guards. as my direction for this car has moved towards a hill gripper I removed the 2 1/2' blocks. Suspention is firm yet takes small pumps well. The car now sits even with 110mm from the sills and handeling improving 200%. I'm extremly happy with the way things are going. no pics as of yet but ill try and get some shots with brad done soon. Plans for a 7k are in the works, keep tuned!
  25. Seen this on a cruise not to long back. Looked like a nice and tidy base to work with. looking forward to some updates down the track!
