fluttering is not 'intercooler' sound, its the sound of the air pressure formed by the turbo being pushed back against the compressor blades. yeah it sounds pretty cool, some people debate on whether this is all that bad for the turbo. the pipe work in these cars is horrible, so shortening it would be a good idea, although the diameter wouldn't have to be bigger if you aren't going to throw extra boost at the motor. i don't think you'll gain much and at 115kw from the factory you would want some decent gains for it to be worth buying.

every $100 you blow on the 4k is $100 further away from your conversion. you could spend a small fortune on your 4k before you know it and it will still go like ass compared to a proper conversion.

if you are doing a CA or SR conversion why waste money on an exhaust system for the 4K?

most people run a remote booster, as that one will get in the way of the clutch master cylinder (if you put one in line with the pedal).

different things affect different people in different ways. i know lots of people who have come off unscathed after more than 10 years of partying hard and smoking choof hard.

depends on how much you will do yourself? if you do it all, then just the cost of the motor and any sundries to get it wired and fuelled up. if you want a drive in, drive out price - then take it to a workshop for a quote.

i know they were sold in limited numbers, but apparently they took a long time to sell with many dealers struggling to move the ones they had bought for stock. Didn't Soulsearcher have ECU problems too? If i remember right she was lucky it was under warranty otherwise it would have been cheaper to replace with a Haltech or something.

dude just go a 4age, cheap as chips. wait around for a RWD manifold to pop up on ebay and you have less problems to worry about. if i was you i'd look for a 7k efi.

you won't get a good conversion done, and on the road LEGALLY with $4000, double it and its possible but you won't get the good shit. IMHO, 20v isn't worth it. put in a 16v and turbo it. heaps more torque for your dollar.

legally you have to use a year 2000 or later series motor, not sure how much a late model 3SGTE motor + conversion would cost. Overpowered RWD cars are more fun than overpowered FWD cars.
