  1. Are you putting 225 and 235 on a corolla? that is too wide for the front of a corolla. a car that small and light will not turn with that much rubber. anything wrong with running 185/60s? you can get bridgestone re001. awesome tyres. Just try your local tyre shops or check the link below seeings as your in SA. AJPS http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/showthread.php/18965-Bridestone-RE001-and-Kenda-on-special-this-week!!
  2. This morning around 1am i spotted a white ke10 on Thompsons rd near the freeway. from the brief glimpse i caught of it, it had a rear venetian (white), very low and a personalized plate. (black with white lettering) anyone on here?!
  3. Can you tee into the brake booster vac line? if so tee in Before the one way valve. so from: brake booster > one way valve > add tee piece join > manifold.
  4. Still in two minds. I'm now thinking about not putting the gutter trimming on and blacking out the chrome around the front windscreen only.. too many chrome trims, surrounds look a bit dorky i think! not the look I'm going for on my car. It is hard to find! its coming off a wagon parts cars i share with a friend :)
  5. another pic from a rolla cruise :D (thanks Ben)
  6. Hope i set this poll up ok! (noob) Anyway I'm repainting my car (same colour) and i have sourced some chrome gutter trimming for it. trying to decide if i should get it and put it on. here is my car now, without it. (i marked all the other chrome sections on the car) I'm trying to work out if the chrome guttering trim will tie in well with the rest of the chrome. excuse my ms paint skillz.. car with chrome gutter trim Can someone photoshop a chrome gutter line on this pic for me please? and a pic showing all the chrome blacked out (different grill/parkers though) this car looks sick! thats about it. any help would be real good :D
  7. Hey buddy^ Don't have many exciting pics to show (been sick all week, stuck in the house/tonsils FAIL) The drivers side window inserts are finished and in highfill primer. passengers sides are about 1.5hrs away from done. here's a progress pic of pass side. redoing filler/sanding/primer/sanding/filler etc Got my headliner material and my Nan is starting on that  Ordered the vinyl for my boot trim/panels (same colour as door trims) From Grant at otomoto i have ordered a 5kg coilover sleeve kit and a pair of 14x7 +2. these will be my new front runners after they are sandblasted/reco'd. wait till you see the colour i paint the centers :) :) got another front bumper to go on and ive started cleaning up my headlight surrounds, grill, lenses etc too. Also sourced the exterior chrome trimming for the A pillar to roof line gutters. but I'm unsure if I'm going to use it.. i'll start a thread about that in general discussion. need some peoples opinions on that :) thats about were I'm at. so frustrated that ive lost about 2weeks of time to work on it. first week was the shit weather and my lack of rain coverage. 2nd week I'm sick!! bah! need this thing done and cruising in december!
  8. How much power do you want? what do you use the car for? street, circuit racing, drag, drift? how much can you afford to spend? There are plenty of options. just to name a few common ones: non turbo - 4age (16v and 20v), worked 5 or 7k, sr20de turbo or supercharged - sr20det, 4agze, 3tgte, 5 or 7k turbos or supercharged. All depends on your budget and goals. :)
  9. Hey richard, welcome mate. When you lower a ke70 the wheel on the drivers side pushes out to the guard. the adj panhard will correct this (brings the axle back to center). any panhards suited for an ae86 will fit your ke70. :)
  10. destroyer: hilux is good but the leaf mounts aren't in the right positioning (so you have to mod it anyway)and its hard to get the right model lux axle with 4x114.3 PCD. r31 is already 4x114.3, they're cheap and lots of spools and different centers on the market.
  11. Hey mate, this is for your ke38 rotor project I'm guessing? Don't waste your time with lowering blocks. they make the car handle horrible and can be really unsafe especially if your chucking a rotor in there! Get your springs reset and add +1 extra leaf to each pack. it costs about 200-250ish if you remove/refit yourself. There was a bloke in QLD I'm pretty certain advertising to reset leaves on this site for a slab! i can't find his thread. maybe he deleted it? someone help me out here..! :) I was going to say in your build thread to re' diff choice. maybe look into a cut-down r31 diff and get your corolla leaf mounts welded onto the housing. I did something kinda similar in my panelvan but used a t series celica diff because I'm only running a 4age (low power).
  12. Ahh yes, forgot the daily part. i just love seeing old rollas as low as possible :P My 70van isn't that low and its not very comfortable riding on the already cut bumpstops in the rear! the price we have to pay for a HOT stance i guess! hehe
  13. looks brilliant :D really like this van. going lower on the front?
  14. sorry to read about the set backs dude, but what you've done so far looks great. show quality engine! what colour are you painting the actual car? is the white in the pics undercoat or? stick with it dude :)
  15. Yeah, we get ripped off in Vic. from what ive found, an engineer in vic wont write a report/cert for anything under $500.. scuttle panel their called. didnt know you needed to change that. there you go! :)
  16. Welcome to the site mate :) Good choice for a daily . you will be glad once you get back in an old rolla ;) Slant front to square front conversion is easy pie. all bolts on. you will need bonnet, guards, headlights, grill and pretty sure the bever panel/front apron. (bottom piece) Ke70 to 4age is easy to get engineers with. there is an engineer in bayswater (near toyospares, edelmaire rd) that can do that for you. approx $700-800 for the cert.
  17. one size bearing only. bearing: 6001-2rs. bout $5 from any bearing shop/autoshop.
  18. Technically your not allowed to. your only meant to use unregistered vehicle permits for taking the car to a workshop to be repaired for a rwc and for driving the car home after just purchasing it , but its up to you! would be awesome to have 3x 65's there :P :)
  19. :y: I THINK these will fit your car. Ive messaged the guy 3 times to see if he makes the rubbers for full framed doors on a panelvan and the knob wont reply ! http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-COROLLA-KE70-2-DOOR-SEDAN-FRAME-RUBBERS-/140413231447?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20b147e157
  20. ^Do the bottom sections white too. IMO it looks more complete and it sort of gives the illusion the car is lower to the ground. :)
  21. Hell ya! nice :D I like how you got the white lettering on black, suits the period of the car ;)
  22. Thanks mate :) your van is nice! progress is slow (prefer to go to the beach on the weekends :P ) This pic below is a rough sand with 40grit to get the shape with a bit of primer to seal it. lots more sanding to do and another coat of filler is needed over the low spots. I'm liking the shape. looks smoother (cleaner lines) than the original van inserts. lets hope it looks good once I'm done!
