Well guys, I've been hanging to start this thread the moment I seen this car. I knew it was mean to be! It is a 1 OWNER, that's right 1 OWNER KE55 Coupe. It was clearly well looked after, probably the MOST original KE55 coupe in all of VICTORIA! The interior is honest to god, like NEW, I shit you not! It has never been smoked in, it has the original carpet and original seat covers. It even has the original radio and cassette player in working condition! There is 1 crack in the dash, 1 tiny rip in the back seat. The exterior has rust in most arches, some terrible others easily repairable, I'm taking it to a panel beater tomorrow morning so he can look it over. This car is absolutely overrated! The 4k-c under the hood runs like a dream, with only 167xx km's under her belt, it's almost silent. A few times I had to check if it was running LOL! I'll let all the pics do the talking :) I picked this beauty up for a mere 3100 WITH 12 months rego and no RWC. SCORE! Plans for this baby include: - Ripping out the amazing 4k-c and replacing with a worked and rebuilt 5k - Adding a twincharge setup, AMR-500 BLOWER and T28 Turbo - Upgrading the carby - NEEDS MORE LOW! - Manual conversion, 5 speed - Rims, preferably some Superlites - Respray in original colour, rust removal to pass roady - MOST IMPORTANTLY ROADY! Fair enough then. By the way, it's not the size of the blower it's how you use it. :P

Man my setup was just painful as! So much trial and error! It's going alright now just need to change points and condenser then get the timing done. It's a lot of work.

Last time I changed the points before supercharging it, I think it was positive 11 or 15 was a few months back. Today I took it to Advanced Carbs in Maidstone and he found 2 vaccum leaks, which he fixed. He changed the idler circuits from 45-40 to 50-55. Took it for a few test drives was running heaps better, dunno how much boost yet, still ironing out some problems. After a few test drives there were some issues that were non carby related, he explained there's some electrical issues somewhere, so I changed the coil then ran out of time to do the points and condenser again. So it hasn't had the timing done yet :P By the way just asked the old man if you checked out the car, he said, "Not to my knowledge..." Cheers, Jake.

I am now the proud owner of a 1979 KE55 coupe :D Interior is like NEW, seriously. NEVER BEEN SMOKED IN! I'm pretty sure it's a 1 owner car too. Unfortunately it's an auto but at least it has original plates with rego :D It was hard to take photos in a krammed as car yard but I did what I could. Also worked on the Ke70 today, had the pip that was terribly recut and realigned redone by some exhaust guys in Laverton North. So, I'm getting the carby jetted and whatever it needs tomorrow. Hopefully it runs fine then :) Also I'm unsure as to whether the KE70 is for sale at the moment, if the right offer is made, it may very well go :D Cheers, Jake.

HZ is like a lifetime project lol, that one's an expensive one! I was tempted doing a efi setup on the Rolla, but I think I want to stick with using a carby, even though it's been giving me HEAPS of shit lately.

Yeah that's kinda why I'm ditching the ksev and going for the coupe. Twincharge is the idea, bit different :)
