You're welcome I let you near my car :P

Well the manual conversion is now complete! A BIG THANKS TO EVAN G FOR ALL HIS HELP ON THIS ONE! Ev did most of the work in getting the auto out, then I did all the work putting the manual in. The auto box looks to be in VERY good nick, not that I EVERhad a problem with it, I just prefer my cars to be manual. The Auto looks like it has been reco'd at some point in history, if anyone's interested in it feel free to PM me for it. For this conversion I didn't need to do any modding of the transmission tunnel as I was fitting the K50 I had lined up for my KE70, the shifter position lined up PERFECTLY. Although it's off a skew due to our dodgey welding of the crossmembers :P I've made a dodgey clutch pedal return spring which I intend to replace shortly as I don't feel it has enough tension, don't get me wrong, it works fine but I don't like how "loosey goosey" it feels. Also on start up there is a strange pinging coming for the engine, not sure what it is, but it's not a big issue. When I took it for it's first test drive it was like driving a completely different car, the feel of the manual is totally different to that of my KE70. The engine is pretty loud at the moment too, I'm assuming this is due to the trans tunnel basically being wide open? Not sure. That's all for now, this is only a temporary gearbox as well as I have a W50 Steel case Celica box coming in from QLD shortly. In a few weeks time, I will begin my Twincharge setup. Although I have altered a few plans in the setup, NOW consisting of a SC14 with 12PSI pulley kit and a T28 Turbo. Next on my list of to do's is getting the 5k rebuilt and WORKED! :D Will post pictures later. Cheers guys, Jake. PS: I've been informed to let you all know if you want some backyard work done, feel free to msg Evan G for help

They're Levin lights, I think... Good luck finding them
-
LOL, he was at my joint helping out with a manual conversion :P

Reminds me of my mates ex-Ksev, which is now owned by RX-747, a member on here... Looks good man!

Yeah man, the mats are pretty mad. It is after all a 1 owner, the driver's side one is pretty rat shit though :P Cheers, Jake.

So I've been a bit bored lately and been playing around and cleaning bits and pieces. On Monday I cleaned up my 2 centre consoles into 1 good 1. Although it will almost certainly require modding in the near future as I'll be running a KE70 K50 until I'm ready to fit my planned W50. Today I got bored and cleaned up the K50, not the greatest job as I only used degreaser and a sponge. Also decided to spray my turbo plenum on a whim, it is now gloss black. Also thought I'd share with you guys half of my precious boost system, the Garrett T28 Turbo! That's about it for now, plans this weekend is to complete the rest of the manual conversion, I'm gonna try and squeeze some work in prior to that. Slowly but surely the project is coming together :) It's getting exciting! Cheers, Jake.

Have you got the right firing order?
-
I might be keen on this, sounds like a good idea man!
-
He put a W55 townace box in it :)
-
Well I have another bloke inbterested, but he can't buy it yet, something about going to Japan in March then he might buy it when he comes back lol
-
Let us know when you're free man, you can take my car for a test spin :)
-
Mines got a bit of a flat spot too, probably the length of the fuel travel :P Also fitted a Boost gauge today, running 5PSI :) gonna see if I can swindle a small pulley for the blower and get more boost. AND yes, rule of thumb, don't let other people drive your car :P I tried to teach my missus how to drive manual... She can't stand it and over thinks shifting.
-
I'm thinking, if you didn't have bad luck you probably wouldn't have luck at all... Sorry to hear man... I'd definately get it looked at ASAP! Also what happened to your back end?!
-
WOW! That paint job looks AMAZING man! Nice work! You're making me want to respray my coupe in another colour, rather then the same factory colour.
-
Coming along nicely man, can't wait to see it running! Is the 5k gonna be stock?
-
ENJOY! I KNOW I DID! Cheers, Jake.
-
How'd you go with getting the emission control crap?
-
Thanks man! I like the wheel too, I kinda want to get a custom Toyota Symbol button for the middle, I bought it secondhand and it came with out a center and has a sticky residue from the old sticker/button on it still. Cheers, Jake.

After a few days of tinkering, I finally got the pedal box in. One step closer to being a manual :) Also the auto pedal box is up for grabs, for free, will post at anyone's expense, comes with a BRAND NEW brake pedal rubber! :P Cheers, Jake.

Hey twinky, Appears you and I have the same setup, somewhat. From what I learned about my setup, you will HAVE to change the way your carby is facing, it needs to have the Fuel Bowl facing towards the front of the car, otherwise when you plant it, your fuel may not hit the jets properly and cause LAG! Also make sure it's DEAD LEVEL. All the best, Jake.
