  1. sometime i wish i had a carby so i could do this, youd think EFI would be a dream but not the case
  2. Yeah no fuel was filing the filter before the surge tank, Getting into the seat and thru the cage in the heat and no air con was really testing my patience also, I miss my EVO at times, haha *edit - bahaha Joe Namath
  3. Other than the above previous post, any reason why you are wanting to part with her, don't seccumb to the non finished project car group
  4. haha ADM bar, classic Welcome to Toyota, nice lookin wagon you got mate Try either a 3RZ 2.7L with a Turbo, being a Holden man try a Rodeo 2.6 You can put any engine in their, what are you wanting to do the conversion for? location helps also
  5. So living in Central Australia and with this super heat most of us are having, park the old girl up in the sun, go to the shops (long walk, keep away from other cars) come back turns over but no go, Seems 98RON don't pump all so great in the heat, so push her into some shade to cool down, frustrating, any one else have/had this problem?
  6. Good progress mate, looking sharp, gotta love the wagon stylin what mounts you going to use on the crossmember? either the silvia or ford 250 crossflow mounts will do the trick, move it a bit forward and wack a trust 5L sump under their, looks trick front on :-)
  7. Nice in depth build up mate, makes me want to throw more money at mine, where does it end, haha subscribed to this thread!!
  8. nice work mate, our rides are almost identical haha, but is a ke30 two door can i ask where you got your strut brace from
  9. toyota carona coil overs with camber and caster kit part number #760916 k macs i have these in my ke30
  10. i have hilux 4 pistons calipers up front, hilux diff 3.7 lsd up the back with ford xd solid rotors unsure of the booster i have can't remember have to have vented / solid combo to be engineered with the SR
  11. you could look at restoration perhaps, refoam and pad it and re-skin it?? If you have the time and curiosity? If can be a costly thing mine was and to use similar original guages was a hard feat so picked up an s13 cluster for $70, although i don't have the stock ecu is tricky to wire up the ke30 fascia has alot of space for some customisations
  12. I have a S13 Dash in my KE30, just need to make some brackets, and a shroud and put what ever you want in there also
  13. Id say my KE30 Carolla would chomp my EVO 8, don't wanna test the waters on the road, they are crap out here ill get her down the track if I'm ever bothered Crazy Carolla owners i see, haha
  14. Since being a small town where i am, people usually admire the nice paint, then look inside and see the full cage, and stripped out interior and start thinking whats going on here, other than people trying to guess whats under the bonnet, the trust sump and oil cooler kind of gives it away, everyone wants to go for a drive in it its a far fetch from the EVO tho, but she does what i want her to do
  15. You can put any engine in any car of course, depends how you want to go about it mate if you want to do it yourself, the stock CA engine mounts and gearbox 'can' mount up to the body otherwise Ford 250 Crossflow mounts and mild steel plates to align the engine where you need it to sit otherwise get a shop to put it in, your location helps also
  16. Carona coil overs with camber and caster kit, Part number #760916 - K-Macs might be a good time to whack on some Hilux Twin pots and Vented Rotors while your at it, if not already
  17. Nice work mate, the sound of a 4G63 with a 20G roar is wikked, make sure to use the stock E7 ECU with EVOscan, you might be surprised how much tuning and datalogging you can get out of it, and with the super AUD is a bargain with the cable and software, My only suggestion other than the nifty engine mounts, most RWD converted 4G63 engines i have seen use an engine plate mount to the stock driver(front in your case) engine mount on the chassis rails otherwise than the massive torque these engines spit on 4WD system to a RWD is gonna be awesome
  18. Not a bad little write up shame if you don't get it engineered, I got a KE30 engineered with 6 ADR codes on it and has an SR20 and a 6 point roll cage welded in, with 4 wheel discs, your on the right track mate, don't give up on her
  19. Well seems it has been a while since a post in this section, either the wet season, or the non air con in the early Carollas is not favoured amongst the NT, haha
