  1. Got a ke70 steering rack last week for the car and yesterday the rear end turned up. I changed my mind on the 4 link commodore rear and got a complete independent rear from an ra65 celica. Now I can have a bit of rear stance haha. Thinking about mounting the motor this weekend and get onto seem welding the car over the next month and tackle the rear end. Should be fun
  2. Looks pretty good, I reckon I've seen it a couple of times, I recognize the kincrome stickers
  3. Thanks mate good to hear more people liking it rather than complaining about it being "poo brown", I'm expecting good things from this ke30 when it's done, you'll probably see it when it's done, maybe late next year
  4. Bought my engine yesterday, 2nd gen 3sgte rebuilt with low k's, gen 3 ecu and loom, loom has been modified to remove all the useless bits and keep it simple, custom flywheel, gear reduction starter motor, 2s sump and bell housing, supra 5 speed and a custom distributor relocation kit. All that for $3,200. Now to get a tig and mount it
  5. So am I, ill try my best to continue posting. The plan it for it to look like this first pic but with custom made front splitter. So far I have remove the tank and all the disgusting fuel, the entire loom and the fuel lines, will be going to Melbourne in the next couple of weeks to check out an engine, 2nd gen 3sgte with gen 3 ecu and loom rebuilt and converted to rwd with 5speed supra box, then I will get myself a tig and seam weld every little bit of the car
  6. Late December last year I found this siting on a container while I was getting the engine bay blasted in my ke20 a couple of months later I went back a took it home for $350. The body is fantastic considering its age one small dint in the roof a dint in the door and a tiny bit of bog in the wheel arch. The third part to the fleet
  7. My latest project, ke30 powered by a 3sgte with a 5speed supra box, vs commodore diff and vs front struts with coil overs all around, full cage, fuel cell and a full paint job
  8. A mechanic who deals with this sort of stuff said that seemeed right and he will look at it next week and try to sort it out but I'm trying to fix it my self to save a big bill if I can
  9. Plugs are new too I had to clean all the carbon off but they're fine, ignition system is fine, just running really really rich
  10. Ok I have tested lots of stuff and it all seems to be working fine but it still misses, map sensor working fuel pressure is 2.8 bar what ever that is in imperial, the coolant temp sensor reads a resistance of 1.88 when the engine was cold and had not been run all day, then I started the car and it dropped 1 decimal ever 1-2 seconds, by the time is gets to 0 the water is about 40°c, the 2 wires to the temp sensor read, brown wire 0-0.2 resistance with the engine running and the green wire 5-5.25 volts with the engine running, do those readings sound right? If yes than what the hell is going on its doing my head in, could it the the ECU?
  11. Hi I have recently fitted a completely rebuilt jap spec bigport 4age to my ke20 and I am having trouble with it missing or surging, It happens once the revs get to about 3,200 but only under heavy acceleration, slow acceleration is fine, timing is set properly, it has a good strong spark to all cylinders, the engine check light isn't throwing and codes other than the speed sensor code when I'm cruising at 3,500rpm in 5th (I don't have a speed sensor), the TPS is set correctly, map sensor seams to be working fine, at idle if you give it a quick rev it blows a tiny bit of black smoke, could be running rich? Or maybe just cause its such a sudden rev the ECU doesn't respond quite quick enough? I am running 98 octane, any ideas to help me out its driving me crazy Thanks heaps
  12. Name: Justin Car: 1973 ke20 2 door sedan SL rally/track car Motor & Driveline: Worked 4k 4 speed manual Suspension & Brakes: Stock rear corona front struts and breaks Wheels & Tyres: Datsun bluebird TRX rims with Achillies 123 R-specs and Corona rims with Cheapo tyres Interior: 6 point cage, Autotecnica monza evo bucket seats, 2" autotecnica 4 point harnesses Body: 2 pak full repray in the original mocca brown and has some signage Other: This beauty was bought in 2006 by my dad and brother for a khanacross car, after 2 races my brother lost intrest and i was keen to take over. once i turned 14 and was able to drive in the khanacross i got stuck into the car, it was only ever a bit of fun but over time has become my life (mum's sick of hearing about it). First I fixed the rust in the front quarter smashed out the dints, flared the arches and repainted them. Next was the cage followed by a tidy up of the dash and door trims etc, then the car got a full respray (back yard job) and covered in stickers. We pulled out the 3k and wacked in a 4k. the 4k has been completely rebuilt, 20 tho oversize, new pistons, rings, bearings, full gasket set, new valves, valve seats and valve springs, port and polish, retuned dizzy, 10.5:1 compression, twin 40mm side draft webers, 4-1 extractors and a 2" exhaust with a hotdog. Revs to 8,000RPM and sounds awesome. Made 45.5rwkw on the dyno with 9.8:1 comp and I haven't had it on a dyno since putting the comp up to 10.5:1 but it made a huge difference so I'm guessing 50-55rwkw now. I am currently rebuilding a big port 4age for her to go in over christmas with a t50 and ta22 axel.
