  1. The car is back on the ground again haha, I changed the radius rods, they now have a left and right hand thread for easier adjustability and support further out on the lca. I have all new steering links, just waiting on the outer rod ends then I need to make some extensions/adaptors
  2. Another section completed ????????????????????. The arms are all mounted up, wheels are on and the car is rolling on all 4's. The new idler arm is in, waiting on the pitman arm and rod ends, then time to rebuild the steering box, ordering new swaybar linkages tomorrow so that's why they're not painted, cage is next after all that's done
  3. Ok, radius rods done, lca's are just waiting to be painted, also painted the sway bar
  4. Base plates have been welded on since taking these photos, just need to get high tensile bolts, then make some spacers to go in place of the flat washers an paint it all, assemble and she's ready to roll (with floppy wheels until my new idler arm, pitman arm and rod ends turn up
  5. Radius rods and lca's are almost finish, might finally get this thing rolling on all 4
  6. Awesome, gettin a little exited
  7. Got it running yet Craig?
  8. They are standard series 5 rx7 lower ball joints, no taper or thread, it slides into a hole in the hub and a bolt locks it in buy sitting in the groove similar to a pto coupling on a tractor
  9. Thanks mate, me either
  10. Lca's coming along, gotta make up some rose jointed radius rods then finish the arms
  11. Yes I am going to put 2mm sheet on the bottom, no real reason for it I just feel like doing it, considering this is a dedicated track car if I smash them I should sell my cars and take up knitting because I can't drive for shit
  12. Yeh, I just buy them and put them in the corner till I'm ready to build them
  13. Yeh it's pretty good, few little tidy up jobs but other than that good as gold
  14. Well I bought another 30 today, this is replacing my ke70 build as it already has a built 2tg, t50 and celica diff, I seem to have an obsession with these things haha
  15. Hey Craig look what I got today, new rally car haha
  16. Pressed up some 3mm mild plate, yeh look a lot neater I think
  17. Finally made a start on my lower control arms today
  18. Ah ok well this is a supra w57
  19. Really? What's the difference? I never looked into it too much and I found this whole setup ready to go
  20. It's a 2s bell housing, and apparently a 2s sump to fit the cross member better, direct bolt up to the w57
  21. Yeh was thinking today maybe I should grab it, even if I got caught in a bad hail storm or something who knows, I'll cut it off on Monday haha
  22. I was going to take the roof too but I thought if I kill the roof it's probably a right off, dunno
  23. Had to make some space for all the new spares so I put them where the bonnet and quarters were which ment they then needed a new home, soooo........ I couldn't help myself, I just love the 30/55 shape
  24. Purchasing this donor ke30 means I've made more changes to my plan, and for the better I think, because I didn't get a dash with the car I was going to run a bare fire wall with a custom made dash over a custom steering column and a tilton style pedal box on the floor. Now I have a dash, I think it will look much neater, I will have the dash restored in either black vinyl or black suede with red stitching and retain the factory steering column and pedal box then modifiy the pedal box for brake bias. Also got some stainless wiper arms off the donor which are a bit nicer than what I already had plus the wiper motor that I was missing. Now I'm on the hunt for the chrome trim that goes on the gutter as there was none on the donor car. Off to the Phillip Island 6 hour this weekend in the 20 then I'll get back into the 30, I have some new rx7 lower ball joints and I have parts pressed up for the lower control arms, need to do some cutting, drilling, machining and welding then onto some radius rods
  25. Originally I was going to do a 4 link with a vs diff and front struts then HSV brakes but as you will see in the earlier posts I changed my mind and went with an RA65 celica IRS set up and coil overs with series 5 RX7 front hubs and brakes all around, these are all spare panels for the car that I hope to never use, I might store them on the wall when I get my own shed haha
