You think yours is moving slow? Mines still on the rotisserie haha. This thing looks amazing I hope mine comes out half as good
-
Finally getting back into it, finishing of the seam welding, just a parcel shelf, floor rails and drain holes to go
-
Have had any time to work on the 30 for a while, I went to marysville earlier this month and had a woops, it wasn't very nice but it's fixed now, off to the mallala 6 hour this weekend then back into the 30, I'm sick of seeing it sitting on the rotisserie will be good to get it back on the ground
-
In a way the seam welding May have helped, gave it extra strength but I don't wanna do it again all fixed now anyway haha, can't wait to see your 30 done, I'll have to get back into mine soon

New guard, bent bonnet, smashed headlight surround, crushed engine bay shirting and kinked chassis. A mate gave me the rally tires, not sure what they are but their old

Been working on my 20 lately instead of the 30, going to marysville this weekend for the intro, went to winton today for the V8's and while I was there I caught up with Adam Ronke and bought his old teins from his FC rx7 so that's one big purchase off the list
-
Yeh it's idling pretty high considering there's no engine there
-
Yeh dad looked up his book and said fulcrum do urathane, but he doesn't like urathane coz they chew out or something, but I'm gonna see how it goes with the rubber, if I wanted to make it rigid I cound machine up some cast nylon mounts or ally for a real solid mount like some of the rx7 guys do, time will tell I guess
-
Changed the mounts a little, now the load is spread over 2 different points not all just on the base of the mount
-
Got the front mounts all gusseted today and fixed the rust in the chassis, getting close now. Couple of holes to fill, fix the rust in the back, finish the seam welding the paint it
-

Cheers, I'm still not sure on that one, I might run the standard computer for a little bit and see how it goes power wise and when I wanna crank it up a bit put an aftermarket ecu, I don't know what is the best for a 3s but I suppose really they're all the same, if it gets a new ecu I will be able to run coil packs, and up the boost and hopefully run about 220rwkw safely

Went backwards tonight and started hacking again, turned 2 holes into 1 now I can reform the chassis but run it into the cab rather than underneith in the way of the subframe then gusset them to the subframe mounts and sheet the rest off
-
Correct method for welding a fuel tank that may still contain fuel is to fill it with water leaving only a small air pocket where you will be welding, but there is clearly no fuel in Craig's tank

Got the first sheet welded in today so that means the work on the rear end is done, just the tidy up jobs to do, gettin close now
