Motor is built now, pretty much ready to drop in. All I need is a clutch and gear box, but I'm waiting to get the W50 in the other car and then I will just use the box and clutch out of that.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-COROLLA-CORO...VQQcmdZViewItem :lolcry: that was hard too!!!
-
yeah that'd be him. I was having a dixlestic moment!
-
Your not gunna get a normal grill over that cooler how it is mate, you'd have to cut away like 50% of it. If you could push the cooler back hard against the rad nearly. then you might have a chance. Can you take a pic or 2 of the exhaust manifold? I'm just about to get a custom one made too, but mine'l be down and back instead of forward and up. Did you spin the main body of the turbo on the housings to keep the oil feed on top? Also you got a fuel reg yet? I know were theres one here in a shop, and they're not all that easy to find!!
-
Looking a at least $1200 for a "usable" gt25. Just go blow through, either with a carby or EFI, then you don't have to worry about the carbon seals.
-
Yeah seems like theres a new turbo K popping up every month or so now. Dookie needs to hurry up and finish his now!! Up the mighty K!! :y:
-
Either Josh or Kye. Did it have a roll cage?
-
nice work! :y: Turbo position looks very familiar!! Using a ke70 mani and j pipe? So you know how to do the all the fuel set up properly then?
-
Ah, knew there was somebody else I need to tell.....Turbo kit swap has now been put off till next friday saturday, cause the guy buying it had his mum book him a holiday he didn't know about. sorry dude. reckon I might get it all out of my car say the wednesday before, so anytime after then. :y: oh and I'll just wait for some sierra parts to pop up first, then I'll find a 38...hopefully!
-
take a pic of the main muffler JC, they're seriously HUGE!!
-
:P That would be awesome thanks 7shades. Either a KR42R townace (from pictured van) or a KM20 liteace flywheel.
-
theres a little bracket the end of the cable attaches to. See if you can find it through the grill and flick it with a screw driver or something. :P
-
Yeah thats half of it really, if I have a rack on it like that above pic of the navara, then its heaps of roof space with a good weight load potential, hell you could have a couple of people sitting on it roo shooting if you wanted!! The other reason for the external cage is not so much practicality, but protection and piece of mind. Once this car has hauled all the camping gear into the camp site, its then there just for fun like the 4 wheelers! :P so with the external roll cage I can roll it down the side of a sand dune 15 times and probably still drive away with every pain of glass still in it!!
-
Townace was still there last night, but I forgot to take my camera home! with any luck it'll still be there this arvo and I'll get some pics of the diff, if JC807 doesn't beat me to it. All good mate. :D The diff does seem a bit wider than a corolla one. Its also coil and banjo!! Was shocked at the size of the stock muffler when I had my head under it. Its seriously nearly as big as my 13b!!! :P as far as bell housing bolts, I'm more inclined to suggest they are a W50/40 pattern rather than a W55-58. In the second pic of the GB you can just see a slightly raised section where I have no bolts in my W50. 7shades: Could you please get a price for a 7k flywheel off the "idiot wreckers" for me? :D
-
GB...... note the electronic speed sensor in the pic of the rear ext housing. this would probably be a really easy way to put an electronic speedo (as aposed to cable) in any old toyota!! :P the rear ext housing is also very similar to that of a W50.
-
Neat. :P What country are you from?
-
I think the diff is the same as a ke55 one (except no sway bar), but don't quote me on that. If that van is still there this arvo, I'll take a couple of pics of the diff. I also have a few pics of the gear box if anybody is interested in seing that!?
-
Hey guys, ok, everybody has seen a 7k motor, but who has actually seen one in its home!! being a KR42R twonace!! Took these yesterday and thought they might be handy for reference pics if anybody is ever working on a 7k, and wanted to know how something goes standard - if you can see it in the pics. Some may just be interested to see what a 7k engine bay looks like!! Note to ECU controlled dizzy as well! if you have the ECU to run it, this would be a better option to the over priced 5k electronic items. :P
-
painted bits.... Got most of the bottom end done last night..... Head should hopefully be ready today, so might put that on tonight. Also just on the external roll cage again, this was down stairs today. Basically what I'[m thinking, but have the bars go all the way to the sill.
-
I'll build you a turbo 5k if you want!! what do you want...a motor for $1000!! or a fuel injected, t25 stainless mani wearing complete motor for about $2000...... or maybe you can just read the FAQ and other relevant info (all available here) and build your self a motor for under $500! and btw, the only real thing that make a k motor a "turbo motor" is the snail hanging off the side. :P
-
Hey man, do you have retarded timing in the turbo motor? If not thats what blew your head gasket!! lock it up to about 20-25o and you can run a shite load more boost. :P PM me if you want more info.
-
Nothing really makes that block "turbo"...and it was over priced anyway!! :P Have a search around and have a look at mine and others cars.
-
pretty rough, but you get the idea...... would basically be a 6 point cage with vertical supports on the A, B, and C pillars. At least a horizontal support across the top of the front and rear winscreens. Maybe across the bottom of the front WS too as pictured. Do know if I'd go around the rear wheel arch or not. Oh and I'd probably put a little bull bar on it too, with maybe a winch. Wouldn't be anything big enough to pull a cruiser out of a mud hole, but enough to be able to pull the rolla out of what ever it gets stuck in. :P
-
I've already decided against the alloy cage. Its bolt in for a capella, or requires modding for the rolla, so it can just go into another capella I think. Entry class tas rally does not require a cage, but car will most likely end up with one. Reckon it would make a subliminarly give me so confidence, as well as chassis regidity. I also want to buy a MIG soon, so I might even end up making it myself! :D As for the planned ke38 4x4, what are peoples thoughts on an external roll cage!? .....Hang on I'll do a quick paint drawing to show exactly what I mean. :P
-
indeed! :P And imagine the looks you get when the old rolla comes screaming over the top of a sand dune with roosts off all 4!!! Ever been to east sandy cape?
