does it use one of the old HKS twincharge kits?? :D

yeah guy I know has a spare t28 off a GTR. This bits a little off topic but oh well. He's had an 11 second VL turbo for a while, has a HUGE turbonectics (IIRC) turbo on it. Has just taken the VL off the road and stripped it. Bought him self an RB26DETT head for the RB30 and is using the turbonetics (hence the t28's being available). yeah yeah, but heres the cool bit - this RB30/26 hybrid is going to be in a tubbed, 2 speed powerglide, andra approved 10 second UC Torana hatch that will also be fully road registered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) anyway, back onto my car! :( I know the GTR t28 is not the best t2 flange turbo I can be buying, but I will just get it running with this for a while till I can get my hand on a GTiR t28 or maybe a disco potato!! :D

I knew you would say how the 10 has less room than the 55!!:D Yeah I had a good look through that 7k into ke10 thread again to see how you did yours. At this stage I'm thinking about even starting from just a exhaust manifold flange rather than the extractors and make it all fit real nice. I'll get my exhaust guy to come round and have a look, make his recomendations (cause he's the one who'l have to make it) and then make a decision. I now want to built an etntry class rally car out of the old bus, so I can then keep the extractors for that, only other mods to this car will be the 609 and maybe a nikki. Caged and lightened. Thats just the td04, which is going. t28 will fit a lot better than that as the td04 has quite large flanges, well espeacially the dump pipe flange.

this is the dump pipe I will have for sale....

Hey guys, new stuff is coming in thick and fast. Got about 1 month now befor the carby stuff is sold (30/6-1/7). Stripped all the carby stuff back off last night and started test fitting these goddies. Gunna have some fun trying to fit a turbo in the below gap. was actually hoping to hang the turbo from the ex main like on a silvia etc, but theres no way thats gunna happen. The dump pipe I have bought now won't fit. Anybody with a t25/28 silvia, 180, 200sx etc wanna buy a stainless split dump pipe?? IROKIN?? and heres the td04 sorta sitting in its usual spot to show how little room I will have.

I set my tappets in the 4k with camtech 609 to 8 thou on the inlet, 12 thou on the exhaust COLD. Thats what I found in a list of all cars clearance in a mechanics workshop manual.

Yeah you need to make really sure you have a clean surface to put it on, try and push it right into the hole if you can too. :D

:D $1876!!!!! donubt you'll find one for that much these days,.....be worth more like $5000+ for a macco one!!
-
what were you trying to fix it with?? There is products available for this, permaseal so one (IIRC) called "kneed it". Its an epoxy putting that you mix together and then push over holes in fuel tanks and radiators. Give that a crack. :D Otherwise have you considered getting a fuel cell?? being for a ute it would be very easy to fit. You can get them on ebay for around $100, I paid $50 for mine off a mate.

That would just cause another defect though! :bash: what if he had a fire under the bonnet!! how's he supposed to put it out?? Honestly I think he might be more liable for a defect on the bonnet latch, rather than the v6!! ;)

best to check to rules and reg in your state. ;)

Correct,....and very leniant. I went past a cop a couple of weeks ago with the rolla venting nearly 20psi from the BOV (which is bloody loud). I was looking in the rear view mirror, but they didn't look twice. ;) Oh and yes, nicks rolla is registered, but probably just with a k.

Thats sorta like a technique I have discovered for doing cookers in work vans. Step one drive along in first gear slowly, floor the accelerator and just after that give the brakes a real good standing on, this will cause the van the lurch foward taking a lot of weight off the back wheels and start to make then spin. Once they start to spin you can release a bit of brake, but still kepp enough on it to hold it there. :bash: -

Thats what the rev limiter is for!!!!!! BTW, if you didn't know, I think your clutch hates you! :D :) -
IIRC, Hydrolics in a high revving 5k will start to close up the valve lift at high RPM, due to the "slop" or give in the lifter. Converting to solids tightens everything up and gives better high RPM results. Oh and matt, apparently the cruiser lifters are a fair bit lighter than the chev items.

Casey has some 4x100 17"s

Bout to head up, tell ya then.

My car still has the ke30 master cylinder Rob put in it as the ke55 master fouled the webers on the 2tg. Let me know if you have trouble with it and I may do you a stright swap. Only catch is you've gotta do most of the work!! :)

Nine left testicles!!

Yeah next weekend would be good for me so I don't have to come being followed by a "steam screen" :y: (as apposed to smoke screen!!) all going to plan it will be with a 5k too!! :P
-
How come I have neer seen this post before!!!??? :P Nice car mate, if you ever need any help with the trubo set up, gimme a yell! Couple of weeks ago I was very shocked. Did the rounds of every local wreckers and could find a single ke30, 35, 55. All I did find was 2x KE50's!!!!!!!! One was front ended, other one was still in alright condition, let me know if there any parts you're chasing! :y:
-
Not at all worried about the blown HG, I just laughed when it happened!! That 4k will get raped for parts for the 5k anyway, so the fact that this happen will motivate me to get it in sooner! :y: Would have been running over 100rwkw with the 4k a couple of weeks ago on around 20psi, well by my calculations anyway. Nah this is gunna be a TOTALLY new set up!! I've sold the whole carby turbo set up to James (Ollies mate) with the really neat ke55 coupe (same colour as mine with pin stripes).

Sr20det Into Ke55 Coupe And Engineering Laws
Taz_Rx replied to Osmosis6176's topic in Engine Conversions
Legalities - I live in Tassie dude, we basically get away with anything!! :P Mind you, even if I had to get it pit inspected, it would probably clear IN TASSIE. Do you know anybody with sr20 s13,14,15, or GTiR?? check there engine bay. I'd dare say that the stock corolla IN would be as big if not bigger than a sr20 return!! but don't quote me on that. As for the different sizes, no real drama in the return being smaller that the send, remeber some of the fuel that comes through the send does get used by the engine!!! :y: -
Hey Leon, By lookiung at that pic, you can just see one of the loobs that hang off the bottom of number 1 and 4 spark plug holes. This indicates that your 5k is actually a dished piston motor. See how you go with the parts for that dizzy, if you don't have much luck then let me know and I could provide you with on e of the more common 4k dizzies. I'm actually coming to Hobart on Friday and could fit and time it if you wanted!?
