  1. yeah knew who you were, just didn't know who the guy was who said hello like he knew me (cause he does). Then when I was telling Liv (the chick he was seeing sorta) she said is Ed Kurts friend, then I was like hang on, Kurt lives in Longford right? on the corner of a Gravel road? Then it all came together and realised it was Kurt. Yeah the old girl isn't too bad for a k motor. It was way too rich before the tune, so add the altitude making the air thinner and it would have been an AFR of about 6-7:1!! so was it blowing heaps of flames?? would you guys be keen for tomorrow night if its raining?? I'll be in Hobart friday and Saturday night otherwise I would suggest then.
  2. is that with injectors and stuff, basically everything but a computer??
  3. hehe, gotta do that again real soon, maybe a little earlier though so it not so foggy!! spose to be raining the next few days I think. She got all tuned up on Monday so I'm set now! Oh by the way, I had now idea who you picked up in Longford and who said hello to me when I was fixing the throttle spring, was too dark and I didn't want to be rude. Then the next day was telling Liv and she said "Ed, Kurts friend" and then I realised who it was!
  4. purple flat tray one with 18"s on it??
  5. I'll let you know James. :D
  6. That would be awesome if you could. wreckers here would have no idea what I'm talking about I reckon. :D What did you pay for yours?
  7. come have a look at my car the next time you're in Launy Brendo and you'll see how simple everything really is! :D
  8. picked up 2x electronic dizzies for $50 yesterday too!! :D So were did you actually get the 7k mani Matt??? Locally? I gunna start collecting parts now for the re-build and EFI. He's pulled a little bit of timing out and closed up the points gap slightly so Ireckon with a quick fiddle I could pull 90rwkw without too much effort! :fuzz:
  9. When I bought the RPM heavy duty one, it had on the side of this box that they were avaiable with a couple of different clutch plate options including normal organic, Ceramic IIRC and a buttom plate. I've still got the box at home though so I'll have a look and see if maybe there is even any part numbers for them. I payed $125 trade price for mine (just heavy duty organic) from REPCO. As for driving with them, for an experience driver like yourself it will be no problem on the street. I've got a heavy duty button in my mazda and that quite exceptable to even do blocks in!!! :fuzz: considering the amount that it get driven on the street, then go for it........... .............however, as Redwarf said say good by k40!!! we both seem to be now having some serious box issues, so do you wanna make it any worse!!! Maybe you need to seriously consider the K-T thing and get a decent brass button for that,....if you can find 1!! :D
  10. yeah bone stock 4k + your old cam. Yeah definately gunna do a tougher re-build and then efi probably at the same time. reckon I'll use a 7ke setup like you with a decent exhaust mani!! :fuzz: Brad turned it down to 8 psi, what do you think the first thing I did when I got home was???? :D
  11. Nah Chris Colgrave did have a dyno.....because Brad Sherrif owns it and worked for Chris. Brad now works at Duggin and Parker and so does his dyno! :) Anyway....Brad did a pretty conservative tune, but I'm really happy with it now, runs heaps smoother. He even fixed the problem thats been bugging me for nearly a year, being a small piece of gasket goop deep in the primary fuel lines. at 8 psi made 69.7rwkw (on a DD dyno Matt  :D ) thats just with 20o of timing and I've been running 25 lately, said he didn't want to push it much more than that cause that engines getting a bit "fumy" :fuzz: but I totally agree with that. Better start looking for some parts for a re-build now! Already sourced another head, now just need some decent pistons etc...... :hmm:
  12. Thank you very much for that comment.........It would have been Brad Sherrif driving it cause its being dyno tuned today!!!! :D
  13. :D That was nearly a perfect run by the eski!!!! Who was driving the black skyline?? f@$k face or his dad?
  14. thanks Nick, looks like Jamie has his wires crossed then. still gunna stick my head under a liteace the next time I see one just incase. :fuzz: Just dropped the old girl off at Duggin and Parker to go on the rollers today!!! :D Will be updating this thread with a dyno figure later today or tomorrow.
  15. Thats what I'm also seriously considering now......gotta do something about burning out the hot box and flange gasket. If I make a custom manifold I'll loose both of these. :D
  16. Had to cancel the tune till tomoz, cause I had to change the hot box gasket :D :fuzz: So I'll no doubt update my projects thread with a power figure tomorrow or tuesday.
  17. haha, Ollie only copied me anyway!!
  18. Yeah that may give you a higher MPH, but it may also make you slower overall. I took mine to the drags once (before it was turbo'd) with a mates 14" supra wheels with 60 series tyres. ran like a 18.2 or something. That meet got rained out and we got free entry the next week. That time I ran 185/60/R13 (being the only thing different about the car) and then ran a 17.6!!!!! and that was half way through 4th, with the 14's I was still in 3rd accross the line.
  19. Hey Raven, PM ke30chris. I sold him a ke55 extension housing about 6 months ago to do this very thing. He was tols it is possible. I don't know wheather he had any luck with it, so give him a yell and find out. He may be able to tell you mods that need to be done to make it work. :D
  20. They look like "brake warmers", aka centre lines. Did you fold out the guards on the front rather than rolling them under??? :D
  21. No thanks.......I'll have a CC!!! but you've got a spot for that too!!......and the Beam.........and the Turkey!!! :D Just something for you to bear in mind though....The whole rule about not having open acohol vessels inside a vehicle!! I know the lids are sort of "sealed", but the safety seal on the bottle will have been opened, so that could get you some dramas. :hmm:
  22. Looking good!! :D
  23. pretty sure thats the one that has a 21R in it.
  24. HELL YEAH, thats quicker than my mazda!!! :P top effort! Not sure what type the dyno is, I know he comes accross the wrong way most of the time, but he means well. Just seems like one of those "tell it how it is guys" and people take that as arogance. OH heres some food for thought for you too Matt. Member on here and one of my mates noticed I was chasing this K-T. Rang me up to tell me that apparently the town aces that have 5k's with column shift have removable bell housing. These bell housing can then be bolted to a W series gearbox!!!!!! May be a better option for both of us to look into! :o
  25. Haven't really got a figure in mind but 90-100kw would be nice! Power figure to me really is just a bragging right, its only going onto the dyno to try and get it running 100%, rather than 80%. Mechanic gave me no garentees but I mentioned to him that I'm thinking about EFI. Just gotta find a computer cheap enough, then I'll either go 7K like you or maybe falcon injection on the stock manifold. You went to the drags on Wednesday didn't you?? how'd ya go??
