  1. Didn't have a bad day at the drags. Made it into the final of street cars, then broke out!! :) Wasn't gunna win anyway cause I was a bit slow off the line with a 0.8something, up against my competitor's 0.412!!!!! Anyway best for the day was a 15.808 at 135kmh, which I'm sorta happy with. Think my turbo might be on its way out though, cause its taking ages to get full boost. Oh yeah and I couldn't believ how much I was revving it and it was loving it. Getting 80kmh out of 2nd and 120kmh out of 3rd!!! with a stock k40 and 3.9. Will upload a couple of vids later. :y:
  2. Consider that 5k sold James!!!! :y: Reall busy at work at the moment so I will PM you later today hopefully.
  3. I'm a big fan of the local nuts and bolts. Hardly ever walk out of there spending more than $10 for what ever you want!! they're always like "....oh, $2 will do mate!"
  4. What type of coil to use with what type of dizzies are basically irrelevant. What is important is using a ballast resistor with a coil that requires one. so to answer your question: Yes its fine to use a GT40 with a electronic dizzy, as long as you don't use a resistor. But, yes, you can also use a GT40R with an elec. dizzy, as long as you do use a resistor. The "R" bit is all you really have to worry about. What were you told!?
  5. Is it possible to have a compulsory spell check when ever you try to make a new post?? I can see now though that the problem with that would be that people (espeacially those with consistantly bad spelling) would just get very used to hitting the "ignore" button!! When I make a new post I normally preview it just to do a bit of a proof read - this is what a lot of people need to start doing I think! So,... maybe if when making a new post if rather than having the 2 tabs at the bottom for "add reply" and "preview post" we only have the one for "preview post". That way the thread will then pop up in the preview box so the author can have a quick read, then scroll down to find the "add reply" button. I know everybody isn't going to do this, but maybe if they HAVE to see the preview they might find some spelling or grammar mistakes......like I just did then and found a couple! :) ^^this is the other advantage of the preview, I just decided that I wanted to add a couple more things, and now do not have to EDIT this post, but only add to it. Can I also make note of somebodies recents attempts to rectify their bad spelling/grammar habits - Camerondownunder - Dude, your grammar particularly, used to be friggen shocking, and I know I'm not the only one that used to have trouble reading your posts some times. From your writing, you seemed like one of those guys who would need to take a huge breath after every sentence because you wanted to use every last molecule of air for speach!! ;) Purely through your lack of full stops. I have noticed lately, that you have made a huge effort in your posts to make them a bit easier to follow, and I for one, am now understnading what you have written the first time I read it, not the 5th!! ;) Well done matey!! :kiwi:
  6. cool, wheres Gaunt street Leigh?? doesn't have a 5k in front of it does it!!?? Have you sold your wagon yet leigh? Probably a stupid question, but if you haven't, would you consider swaping me a 4k for your 5k with a cash adjustment obviously. I would do all of the work in an arvo.
  7. Last round of the drags and burnout comp are on this week end!! ;) Who's gunna come out and laugh at me!? :)
  8. Cool. Lemme know when you wanna start collecting parts, cause I can help ya out with the turbo cams! :)
  9. :) Cool, something different. Why no forced induction?
  10. My missus drives the car its in now!! ;) Ah, so you have the creamy coloured corona I've seen about at the drags and symmons etc? That things sounds just like the rolla used to on boost with the CT12. has that wierd whine. sounds cool when you flick the boost switch on boost and then whine doubles! :)
  11. more power than a 2t with the engine you have!! http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=12482
  12. this is sorta the idea I'm toying with for my old '55 shell. Basically, suzuki sierra's have a very similar chassis width,....have a seperate gearbox and transfer case,.......just need to convert the front end of the rolla to leaf and change the steering! :)
  13. ALL of the new setup is in the parts traded as an EOI!! :D
  14. Disregard above post. Sold this morning sorry. LOOKSIES!!!!!!>>>>>> http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=12482
  15. Thats what I explained above.....GT40 and GT40R. It make no difference to the dizzy what you use, but if you use no ballast resitor with a GT40R you will fry the coil really quick. If you use a ballast resistor with a GT40, it will most likely struggle to make proper spark. For anybody who does know, this is what a ballast resistor does: When under normal driving conditions, with the engine running, obviously with the key position as ON, the power that the coil draws from the battery (12v) runs through the ballast resistor, which drops the voltage to the coil to 6v. ONLY when you turn the key to the START position is the ballast resistor bypassed, and hence gives a 12v power source to the coil to help the engine start. The coil will tolerate 12v in small doses when starting, but if it is constantly run on 12v when its a "resistor type coil" it will burn out very quick. Having known how a ballast resistor actually works I have used one somewhere else in my car. I am currently using a VL turbo fuel pump, which makes too much pressure and flow for a carby 4k......so, I wired a ballast resistor into the power source to that fuel pump, and hence halved its flow and pressure by halving its voltage!!!! :D
  16. unbolt stock carb.......bolt on new one. Bout that simple. Hardest part would be running a positive on power wire to the fuel solenoid if it has one. Are you talking about the one Ollae82 has for sale, cause that used to be mine??
  17. got a ke55 booster and MC Leigh!
  18. There's one in my back yard!
  19. Done and PM sent. There you go peoples, bout 6 months and the old girl is gunna be fuel injected!!!! Now does anybody have a cheap fuel only computer for me like a microtech d5, digi etc?????
  20. the "R" on both the GT40R and GX-80R is short for resistor, ie they are to be used with a ballast resistor. A straight GT40 is run at 12v all of the time.
  21. looks more like my missus on her knees!!
  22. Chuck a 13b turbo in it instead!! not too hard to make it run 10's. It'l be lighter, so therefore handle better in the front (although that probably doesn't matter if it a drag car only). easier to fit, ie don't need to cut the fire wall. and more choices in gear boxes!! Plus if you changed your mind then it would be easier to rego, but hey its tassie - just put in and drive it on the road, whatever engine it is!!
  23. ah, thats the ex turbo 5k block that scott had?? I was thinking about send him a PM about that today!!
  24. Yeaha, welcome! You wanna sell those extractors when the k comes out!!?? sorry casey, I was first!!
  25. Yep!! Sure thats Ok?? I'll get you to post it with the head then if thats cool??
