  1. engine bay before I started, will have a pic of it all clean soon. btw this cross member is modified for a T series and will be for sle if anbody wants it!!!!! Pulled the fuel tank out and lines out, gave the boot bout an hour of scrubbing, and fitted the fuel cell.
  2. firstly started hiding the wiring in the engine bay by running it through the guards, so.................. gettn naked!! just took the front guards and stone tray off in one, much easier, plus, since Ive been working on it bover a few weeks i can just slide the front end back on, put in a couple of bolts finger tight, alside the bumper in and its all good till next time I want to work on it. were the wiring looms come through the fire wall I have just drilled a hole the in the inner guard. painted the inner guards, ran the wires through the box section at the top you can see.
  3. though it was about time I updated with some of my progress. :D Been working on the car I bought off Rob1, just been trying to do stuff at the moment that doesn't require taking my other rolla off the road. anyway here a couple of the first night I started working on it. NOTE: the front does not have any springs or shocks in it atm, waiting on new shockies. the struts are being held in and upright by the rope you can see in the engine bay. Camber!!!! :y:

  8. Mines just 2.5 off the turbo till under the passengers feet, then goes into a 2 inch system I bought off here with a very quiet muffler. sounds like a completely stock car when its just sitting there idling. don't think its going to make any biggy what size you really use, just keep it above 2". noticed you have a t25 listed in your sig matt! what happened to the saab turbo??
  9. Hey guys, Just thought I'd let you know I'm having a party on friday for the hottest 100. If you don't have any plans feel free to drop round and watch the JJJ webcast on the plasma and listen to 1000 watts of PA!!!! Will be also having a BBQ, Propable for lunch, so BYO meat. All welcome. :)
  10. additions = Flares!!?? mine got sent out of MMS yesterday so I should have them next week. btw, when iwent round to rob1's place that night we didn't get any work done stripping parts............cause I bought the whole car!! :jamie:
  11. that might have something to do with it currently have no springs or shocks in the front of it at the moment!! :jamie: did you notice how much camber its got too?
  12. yeah since the end of august 2005!! :)
  13. nah, thanks anyway though. I've got another one thats only done 160k! :)
  14. Have you actually tried driving this yet?? guess so. How laggy is it? cause thats a bloody big turbo for a 4k. mines off a 2 litre wrx, but you should really consider the 12a as a 2.4lt when your interested in the turbo so i can see it be VERY laggy!!
  15. I have since resprayed the dash again since the sanding it back. the new paint colours is call "aluminium", its a little darker and duller than the chrome, I like it. and if I end up putting any real alloy inside the car it should match up pretty well. yes. that reminds me, searchs for meridian motor sport addy!! :) yeah 4ktc is going in it. don't know what I'm doing with the old shell yet.
  16. think I did ok with the guages, the boost one is fugged and i was just using that for a fitter. all the other guages: volts, oil temp, oil psi, and water temp cost me $140 for the lot!! :)
  17. :P I can make you one for a price casey!! :)
  18. I'm about to put this set up into another car, so when I do I going to cut the front panel, around where the piping goes through. that way I'll be able to get the cooler back another 3 inches or so and won't have to cut out the small section across the bottom of the grill. FYI, the cooler is the standard item out of a '89 mx6. they take all of 1/2 an hour to fit in a ke30-55. :)
  19. seen this car before, but not the top gear vid. thanks :) .......and in return....... :P http://www.fineartmodels.com/pages/product...t_area=139there was a site with around 100 pics of it, but I can't find it. :)
  20. theres a post in automotive discussion with a list of 1/4 mile times for corollas, cross breeds etc. tell the guy who started the thread your times and he'll put you on the list. low 13's is nothing to sneeze at!!!! :) was that just with your usual road going tyres?? how was the traction situation?? Maybe try and get hold of some slicks and if you havn't used them already, since your rear end setup seems like it'll handle the power!!
  21. those wheels actually look very similar to a type of SSR wheels which are sorta rare. SSR make shark stars etc, the old school wheels you see on old skool japanese corollas, rx's etc.
  22. heres a couple more of the tacho. I used the same tacho I had in the old rolla, can see pics of it on the first page. after removing the fuel guage, temp guage, oil and charge lights a cut out a heap of plastic to accomodate the back of the tacho inside the instrument panel. I then trimmed back and filed the face of the tacho to fit inside the standard plastic dome. I also had to drill a hole in this for the shift light knob. once it was all fitted, most of the wiring was a piece of piss. what i did was drill into the back of the intrument panel through the plastic circuit board to pick up the required circuits, ie, on power, earth, allumination etc. I also ran some wires for the new oil and charge lights the same way off the circuit sheet.
  23. 4: After some more filing to make it fit onto the dash nicely in was then screwed down. I also cut way the required plastic from behind to fit the guages. 5: then began the bogging to mould it into the dash. In the above pic you can also see the other guage i've been working on - the tacho, I'll post a couple more pics of that soon. 6: After more bogging and heaps of sanding I sprayed the whole thing in spray putty. This was for 2 reasons: to smooth out the bumpy finish that the standard dash plastic has, and to cover the MDF with a layer of something non-porus like the MDF. if anybody has ever spayed straight onto MDF they'll know what I'm on about, the MDF soaks up the paint and looks shit, takes like 10 coats to make it look any good. sorry I don't have a pic of in in spray putty. 7: paint time. I just used some paint I found down stairs at first, can said silver, but it turned out to be that fake chrome stuff. Didn't like the look of it so I sanded it back. thats what this pic is of, the sanded back paint. The 3 lights below the boost guage are for oil pressure, charge, and the thermo fan (lights green when on) i had to relocate the oil and charge lights because of where I put the tacho.
  24. Picked up the new car on Saturday (thats why I didn't make it to the cruise) and work has begun!! :) Heres some piccies of the custom dash I have been working on for the new car. 1: mark and cut out MDF for guages, 2: drill holes with hole saw for guages. I used a drill press with the platform on an angle to get the guages angled towards the driver a little. 3: the drivers side of the holes then needed filing back so that I could get the guages to sit in far enough on the passenger side.
  25. rx4, its in my sig...
