  1. have a look at the turbo 4kc thread in the engine conversion forum just below this one. theres now heaps and heaps info in there. :jamie:
  2. so is the grill gone yet rob. Its too expensive to try and get one sent from interstate, even though they're light as shite, just too long!!
  3. yeah shane will do a good job on any rotor exhaust, he did mine which I'm more than happy with. ask him about driving an rx4 from adelaide to melbourne in 3 hours while your round there!! :) they (him and missus) had an rx4 coupe which there son kym (simon is the other one who races bikes) now own, or did, had a very tough sounding 13b monster port and niels wheels!! :) btw, his missus would know more about rotors than you and me put together!!
  4. btw nick, you'll have to convince your bro to bring his rolls aswell so we can finally have the 4ktc vs 4kze race!! :)
  5. admission fee and licence is basically for the racing, then if you want to go in the burnout comp its NO extra. If you only want to go in the burnout comp its still the same $55, so you'd be crazy not to race aswell. :) got my commonwhore radiator all fitted up yesterday, so I'm all ready for some skids. got a bit hot last time I went in it. :) Forgot to mention before what the whole "sports compact" format is about for anybody who doesn't know. Basically any 4, 6 or rotary, carby or efi, turbo or NA, and then 'high tech' V8/10/12,.......so EFI only. This eliminates the typical carb fed v8's that normally dominate tassie drag racing.
  6. more>
  7. Ok guys, sports compacts is on again soon at Tarmak. 18th of Nov,....so thats about 2.5 weeks away. I gunna take both my cars out hopefully, I'll race the mazda and my GF's is gunna race the rolla (still gotta teach her to do toe's :) ). I know NickZ is planning on running his v6 rolla, but who else is going to race????? entry last year was $45 for entry, insurance etc and $10 for an andra day licence, so for $55 + fuel its a great days fun. heres a couple of teaser pics I took last year.
  8. cool, just letten you know incase you wanted to offload it. FYI, andra sports compacts on the 18th of this month,.......bout time you bought that red bitch out for a run I think!! I'll give ya a grudge match!! :) edit:.......well katie might have to, she's gunna race the rolla and I'm driving the maz.
  9. if you wanna blow flames just rev it up to at least 6 grand in say 2nd or 3rd and then take your foot off the go pedal without shifting, should pop a few out on the rev down. :)
  10. talk to tye if you wanna sell the other one then Q, he was looking at buying Jade's engine out of the mr2, but its a bare block atm!!!!
  11. cummon guys, someone should have experimented with this before. or since ke70 wagons are leaf sprung like a 55, are they basically the same diff??
  12. I meant more along the lines of making 1 good box out of 2 fugged ones. ie, some will wear out the shaft that the solid gear set is on, some will shear teeth etc, find a good 1 of every part and make them 1 box! :) they're a bitch to try and work out to start with, with the sliding gears and all, but once you've done it once it easy. I can just show you how to do it if you want??
  13. I have a whole ke55 dash!! don't want much for it, but as its in Tassie it would cost you a little for a courier!! PM me if interested though.
  14. brendo if you've got a couple of busted box's and wanna buy some new bearings I could re-build a box for you!!
  15. they're performance challengers / Bathurst globes. :) ahhh, so thats why I saw your 7 driving through Launy a couple of weeks ago!?
  16. As above, just wondering if the axles and centre from a KE55 can be used in a KE70 and vise versa??
  17. any more progress pics yet matty boy?? how's it all going?
  18. I saw a red bog filled ke30 yesterday that didn't sound like a 3/4k!!! :)
  19. "f@$ken ages" :) how much for the t28!? :y:
  20. grill and headlights.
  21. yeah all stocko, only thing that isn't stock in the whole motor is your 609!! I lower my C/R at the time of firing with the retarded timing. :)
  22. hey josho, Ed had a t25 listed in the parts he was selling with the car. PM me if you're interested in selling it. :)
  23. the rolla!!?? :)
  24. ok, with your plugs: the outer ring on the edge of the thread is the bottom end, and the tip (bend bit) is your top end. to read the mix, you just need to know the colours. stoich is a nice dry black, over rich is also black, but you will notice if you take the plugs out after it has just runs, there is still some visible fuel on the plug. then for your leans, if they have that brownish tinge it is starting to lean out a bit, and if they start turning white then you're into danger zone. If you're ever querying your electronic readings, check the plugs - they can't make computing error!! :P :y: comp ratio is standard, or maybe a pooftenth higher as this head has been skimmed a couple of times. Just using a permaseal H/G at the mo, as that is what was available. Timing is locked at 20o BTDC. the car has been running boost since august last year. Blew a couple of head gaskets about 2 months later, due to full timing advance. since then I haven't changed a lot, apart from timing!! :P so its been running well now for over a year with no issues. ;) the car gets given driven hard every time I drive it!! ;) which would be 4-5 times a week. I have a work van I drive to work, so the coroola is a bit of a run about & fun car, and my mazda is sorta a weekend cruiser. With so o-rings, and the copper gasket, you should have no dramas at all!!
