  1. All I use for my tuning is my eyes and my spark plugs. might sound really primative, but it works for me. Never had the car properly tuned, only time mechanics have looked under the hood is when I'm giving a mate a laugh!! so have no idea of AFR's yeah, just run here nice and rich. Do you know how to read a spark plug?
  2. this is OllAE82's car. has an AE82 front bar on it. held on with cable ties!! :y:
  3. "normal" boost is spiking around 9, runs anything above 7. with the switch on, will spike around 12, run about 10, and on cold Tassie nights spike about 14 and run 12!!! If you crank yours up to around 12psi it'll feel like you just doubled your torque!! :y: What have you done in terms of ignition? you just running a standard 7k electronic retarded a little? Have a guy on Ausrotary who is going to send me a diagram on how to convert a vacuum advance into a boost retard, will send you a copy too if you want?
  4. No it was Falken_30 who wanted it. was going to buy an engine off me for it, but told me the other day he's not getting it any more.
  5. good to hear. :y: thats the best thing about k-series turbos, the amount of torque they make at low rpm when you first get boost!!! :P
  6. huh!? I'm wrecking buddah's rolla, not mine. anything you want??
  7. thinking something like an old microtech D5, if i could find one, should be able to pick it up for about $100!!!
  8. :) oh, I feel so speacial now! discovered something handle I've been mulling over lately...... the first lot of injected falcons had a pretty simple carby style throttle body on them that actually shares the same bolt spacings for the manifold as the webers that were previosly equipped on them....... And I reckon you could get one from a wreckers REAL cheap!!...... Adapter plates are available at nearly any auto shop to put these webers on corolla manifolds.... So probably for under $100 you can have injection on a standard corolla manifold!!!! cheap fuel only ECU, and a hat for the top of the injection.......hey presto.....uber cheap injection!!
  9. any in car piccies yet matt?
  10. I reckon it looks pretty good!
  11. wow, that thing sounds like it has a 'motec system exhaust'!!!!
  12. here a pic of the front of it rolla_boy.
  13. casey - I have a good condition carpet in my new spare car. hasn't even got rips in the driver side. also have 2 sets of ke55 front caliper.
  14. I have over a whole cars worth of parts available in Launy. add is here> http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=9787
  15. civic, not city!! :jamie:
  16. the guy has probably only driven the car with the broken axle!!!! has anybody ever driven with one?? they make the car seem like there is twice as much power as it put twice as much power to one wheel. and will surprising nearly spin in every gear. he's still obviously a nob jocky though!!! :jamie:
  17. sorry james, that comment wasn't directed at you, but at an opinionated 14 y/o!! :(
  18. sorry by "pit inspection" I mean a certified inspection station. same thing as having an inspection to register a car normally. :(
  19. SI rego DOES REQUIRE a pit inspection James!!! I've been looking into it for my mazda. Just another point about it (although this probably isn't relavent so much to HEKTIC) is the fact that you cannot sell a car with SI rego. the current owner must cancel there SI reg, then the new owner has to have it inspected again and re-rego it in either SI or normal rego. Also if he had it SI reg'd for a couple of years and then wanted it to have normal reg so he could drive it more often, then he would have to cancel the SI reg, have it re-inspected and then re-rego it normally!! its all a bit of a head fark. :(
  20. cool, you'll probably be right with the anker rad then! :( I've gotta look into getting a vn etc. v6 radiator I think.
  21. no james, you should take the advice of someone that has never had a licence or legally driven on a public road before, let alone towed a trailer!!!! :P
  22. No I don't care that it doesn't look pretty, mine didn't used to look real good. what I meant more by the comment was the use of other bits and piece like the compressor valve etc. kudos for using his brain. :P and 14's on 20+psi!!!!! Has it had any internal work done!!??
  23. if its not moulded it will fit shit. knox moulded carpets are $175 delivered, and thats for the "super plush" (best). I have one in my mazda and I would highly recommend saving a couple of extra bickies for a quality product. :D
  24. what do you mean by "polishing tip"??? if its sort of like a die grinder bit, then you could create yourself more work than you save if you take the smooth finish off it!! best way to get a nice polished finish is with wet and dry sand paper, getting finer and finer and then a bit of a polish after that. REMEMBER - The high gloss finish you maybe after will always be more so from wet sanding that what you will ever actually get from a tin/tube of polish.
  25. patients young jedi!! :D
