Just got a 5kc elec dizzy banged it in and OMG runs so much better and accelerates now unread of choking haha great upgrade

My father inlaw has a soda blasting company if you want cars and parts it's best to use soda blasting if your interested I can give u his number pm me for them Hes in se melb aswell but blasts on site or in your back yard as it just devolves with water u have not mess

Yeh mine was always manual but the last guy gutted an auto and put the diff into this not knowing the diff gears weren't the same

From what I have read on the net the new twin cam engine it the same old block with diff pistons and a twin cam head

I'm in hoppers crossing Found an elec dizzy I'm picking it up today then I don't have to stuff around with points again

Yeh mate swapped them for slant panels Yeh think I might need to change diffs aswell to get the revs down at top speeds

Bit of an update Bolted up a slant front end onto the rolla I am still waiting for my wheels to be drilled out by the engineer Hoping to buy these quad carbs next week or the week after Getting my 5 speed next week aswell so will be bolting that in ASAP cos don't like hitting 5000rpm at 100ks Think I might get some diff gears to fix up my high speed cruising Plan on a respray in a couple months gotta spray my mates navara mini truck soon so will have plenty of practice for mine lol

Nah it's a Bosch one it's the one with the thread on the mount and the bolt that goes through the vac advance bracket blots into it I have found the right one I was jast very surprised at the price difference

Got some new points and a condensor for my e7 4kc the other day to try fix up my idle and tacho troubles now got them from autobahn Points $15 or so Condensor $9 Got home and it was the wrong one so I thought Hmmmmm went back today said it's the wrong one they didn't have any others listed in there computer so I took then out n showed them the one I needed Now they found the one in the book listed for the car and bingo it was the right one but it's a huge price jump $41.99 Anyone els have this issue? I couldn't believe the price I have never seen a condensor be this expensive Before

Hey guys I have a ke70 that was 5 speed now has a 4 speed and it revs like shit at high speed and I'm talking 80 it's doing about 3750 rpm So I guess 4 speeds have taller diff gears???? I am about to get a 5 speed in a week or so I was just wondering Now is the tail shaft the same from 4 and 5 speed and clutch?? Thanks guys Miller

I had thought of mx5 and also s2000 running gear but excels are so readily available at most wreckers just seems easyer and cost effective to me amd if it all works out easy it could be a cheap upgrade for other rolla owners

I have a mate who has an engineering shop with a couple cnc machines so I would prob have to talk to him about an adapting plate or bellhousing to suit corolla gearbox

Ok guys been looking at a cheap easy enough conversion with a decent power upgrade from the crappy 4k in my e7 Now I have been looking at cheap twin cam engines that have a reasonable spare parts market and proformance upgrades Now the g4fk which is a twin cam hyundai engine out of the excel have been around for a while and there are plenty of guys racing them around the track They don't run a dizzy and have 74kw standard so with cold air intake and decent exhaust system and 98ron fuel should bump it up a tad These motors go for around the $600 mark with 3 month warranty from wreckers Just wondering what you guys think of my idea?? Any input would be nice Not interested in 4age conversion tho guys so don't mention it lol

Well plans for the moment are black boot and bonnet get my wheels back from the engineer that are 14x8 then off to the sand blaster and then powder coaters then get some flares from a member on here then paint them black bolt them on Then drive as a daily for a while until I get enough money up for and engine swap Now comes for the crazy part now u guys will say I'm crazy and don't do it and blah blah blah I'm thinking about getting a excel twin cam engine running quad carbs off a zx10 and a after market computerfor the spark bolt it up infront of a 5 speed prob just the stock rolla item for now

Hi guys new to the site live over the west side of melb ( hoppers crossing) loving my ke70 so far it's light and tiny so it's a nice change from what I drive all day being a truck driver lol Plan some more body mods eg flares and wide wheels but not to much els to the body love the shape
