G'day, got a bit more done today, mounted the gear knob better, put the steering wheel on straight, polished the top of the manifold, mounted a ss lip i got for $20 and painted it :P looks heaps better now :y: mounted the lip, just used cable ties as the bumper is different on ss then pulled it off coz the tow hook went on the inside motor back together polished put some new stickers on that i got with the tyres few more things to do but its getting there, still have 3 weeks and 2 days :P
  2. hey, made the extractors fit the sidepipe today, sounds sick as :D so can't wait to drive it haha first one is lumpy idle this one is 5800rpm :D

  4. hello, got most of the motor back together, should have it going after a few hours tomorrow, cam is 1.5mm higher lift and heaps more duration :P old cam out new cam in :P heads on ready for manifold where its at now :D semi slick on :y:
  5. well i have finally got new semi slick tyres, and the cam turned up :D i put 2 wheels on but its so hot in the shed haha, i'll chuck the others on later, and i'll start putting the motor back together tomorrow :D can't wait to see how it goes next race :D
  6. hew, well heads are done, forgot to mention that i got some extractors from the wreckers for $55, and a near new power steering pump for $50 :P testing the cc's, this side is pretty tuned length but other isn't, still lots better that standard, and will look cool haha and power steering pump haha :D
  7. hello, picked up the heads today, they came up awesome and they acid tanked them to so they are all clean, i gave 2 valves a valve grind and put the new valve stem seals on and put them in, then checked the cc's i can have down to 54cc, and mine are 54.5 or 55cc so they are perfect, i'l start getting the old cam out tomorrow, hopefully the new one will turn up too haha :D can't wait to have it all back together, next meeting is december 1st :P
  8. yeah mine was a bastard to start cold, had to use start ya bastard haha, but if you can find a way to hook choke up it should be ok, i just used a bike brake cable that was a good length for throttle
  9. hey, here is a pic of my throttle setup, it wasn't awesome but worked fine, also with your carbs you will have to mount the close to the same angle as the bike they came off, i think they are down draft carbs so if they are mounted flat i think they will leak, cheers

  11. g'day, well they didn't work that great for me, i didn't have choke, and they were too small, i think a good set of carbs would be some mikunis off a 81 ish gsx 750, but for now iv'e just got the stock carb on, and i'm keeping an eye out for a weber, just coz its a daily i don't wanna be stuffing around with it all the time, but on something you want a hotty motor in it, they would be good to play around with
  12. i got a 1.49.3 in this, in the corolla i only got a 1,56 but its clutch was slipping on gear changes, hoping to get a 1,45 or lower next round with motor work lowered at the back and semi slicks
  13. hello, cleaned the the heads up and took them in to get machined, and ordered a vrs kit, found out its a vy motor, all that i can find is different on them is 1.83 inch inlet valves instead of 1.80, and in saloon cars you can have up to 1.85 so they should be the goodsand different computer but mine is a vt one anyway, and i need a special one for saloon cars anyway, i got half the valves cleaned up and polished them too they look pretty good :y: i'm picking the heads up on monday, so the cam should be here by then and i can start putting it back together :y:

  15. hey, when i finish the car ready for saloon cars, i have to take it to a saloon car sealer, they check everything then seal the motor, diff, computer etc, then you can't pull anything apart without breaking the seals, yeah i can't wait till the next race, hopefully it will be a big improvement. Here is all the rules i have to go by, if you have a look go down to the vt/au bit about half way down saloon car regulations 2012.pdf

  17. just took a few pics out of some outside vids, i'll chuck a few of the vids on later too i cleaned the chambers on one hehad and wire brushed the ports, i'm gonna take them sometime this week to get machined :y: little slide with no power steering haha supercharged 6 froad was shooting flames n shit at me haha

  19. hello, got the valves out of one head, other head is ready to come off, then ill trake the valves out of that and take them down in the corona :D and get 20 thou off them, the bottom end looks good, not allowed to port the heads from what i can tell in the rules, but i'll clean them up with a wire brush, so hopefully if the cam turns up tomorrow i'll get the time to have it going by the end of the week, if not early next week :D
  20. hello, iv'e now got some money, ordered a cam today, should be here in a few days, getting semi slicks in a few weeks, got one head off today, i'll get the other one off tomorrow and figure how much i need to get it shaved, and i'll get the cam out, give the head etc a clean up and put it all back together :D and match port the inlet manifold to the head.

FITTED WITH A 4AGZE BIGPORT TWIN CAM 16V SUPERCHARGED & INTERCOOLED ENGINE, THIS CAR WAS REGISTERED WITH THIS SETUP, BUT HAD SAT UNUSED FOR A LONG TIME WHEN I BOUGHT IT, SO I PULLED THE MOTOR APART, PUT NEW RINGS AND BIG END BEARINGS IN, HONED IT, HAD THE HEAD SHAVED 10 THOU, FITTED ALL NEW BRASS WELCH PLUGS, CLEANED UP THE PORTS IN THE HEAD AND PORT MATCHED THE MANIFOLDS COMPLETELY CLEANED AND RESPRAYED THE ENGINE BLOCK, NEW OIL & FILTER ETC ETC SUPERCHARGER HAS STANDARD PULLEY SO IT HASN'T BEEN BOOSTED UP, SINCE I DID ALL OF THAT TO THE ENGINE, I HAVE ONLY DONE 40 LAPS OF WINTON SINCE REBUILD, AS THIS WAS MY FIRST TRACK CAR, WITH A BEST LAP OF 1.56, THERE'S LOTS OF POTENTIAL LEFT, SOME STICKIER TYRES & MAYBE A BETTER CLUTCH & CAR SHOULD BE GOOD FOR AROUND 1.50'S OR BETTER.. FROM THE FIRST TIME I STARTED THE ENGINE IT HAS HAD A RATTLE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS, IT SOUNDS LIKE A VALVE ETC, BUT I'VE TAKEN THE TOP OF THE ENGINE BACK OFF TO CHECK EVERYTHING & ONLY THING I CAN FIND IS A SLOPPY DISTRIBUTOR DRIVE GEAR WHERE IT GOES ONTO THE CAM, IT HASN'T GOTTEN ANY WORSE SINCE THE FIRST TIME I STARTED IT, IT COULD BE SOMETHING ELSE BUT I'M NOT REALLY SURE, IT STILL RUNS FINE & PULLS HARD TO 7000 RPM WITH NO PROBLEMS & ENGINE SOUNDS FINE UNDER LOAD, HAS A SPORTS EXHAUST WITH THREE HOT DOGS FITTED, IT HAS A FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER DUMMY FITTED WITH PVC PIPE BUT DOES RUN FINE LIKE THIS, HAS K&N POD FILTER, THERMO FAN,AND IT RUNS A VL FUEL PUMP. IT HAS A JDM T SERIES DISC BRAKE DIFF WITH A WELDED CENTRE, ITS A T50 5 SPEED, ITS NOT NOISY AND CHANGES WELL, I NOTICED LAST RACE THAT WHEN I CHANGED GEARS THE CLUTCH WAS SLOW TO GRIP SO IT WILL PROB NEED A NEW CLUTCH SOON. THE CAR SITS ON 15" X 7" WORK E WING2 3 PIECE WHEELS WITH 205/50R15 TYRES, THE FRONTS HAVE ABOUT 60% TREAD AND THE REARS HAVE ABOUT 40% TREAD AND HAVE DONE 40 LAPS AT WINTON, THE TYRES ARE A LITTLE BIT OLD AND HARD AND HAVE SOME CRACKING ON THEM, ONE TYRE HAS A SLOW LEAK & GOES FLAT AFTER A DAY. THE CAR HAS KONI ADJUSTABE SHORT STROKE REAR SHOCKS, PEDDERS REAR SWAY BAR & LOWERED SPRINGS AND IT HAS STANDARD FRONT STRUTS THAT HAVE BEEN MODIFIED WITH A CUSTOM RETAINER TO KEEP THE CUT PEDDERS LOWERED SPRINGS IN PLACE. I STARTED TO TIDY UP THE BODY BUT RAN OUT OF TIME TO FINISH IT BEFORE MY FIRST RACE, SO I JUST SPRAYED OVER THE REPAIRS, IT HAS FLARED REAR WHEEL ARCHES, THE PAINT ISN'T GREAT BUT THE CAR STILL LOOKS AWESOME, IT HAS A LITTLE BIT OF RUST BUT WOULDN'T TAKE MUCH TO REPAIR, IT DOES HAVE SOME DENTS BUT NOTHING BIG AS CAN BE SEEN IN PICS, IT HAS A SPIRIT BOOT LIP AND THE CAR HAS BEEN DE-BADGED. THE ROOF AND BOOT LID HAVE HAIL DENTS, I HAVE REPLACED THE BONNET, AND I HAVE A SPARE BOOT THAT IS REASONABLY STRAIGHT. ALSO HAVE A SPARE BOOT SPOILER THAT HAS A FEW CRACKS BUT ISN'T TOO BAD, AND A SPARE LEFT FRONT GUARD THAT IT PRETTY STRAIGHT WITH A LITTLE BIT OF SURFACE RUST DOWN THE BOTTOM. I'VE STRIPPED OUT THE INTERIOR & MOUNTED A FIXED BACK MONZA RACE SEAT, IT HAS A SPORTS STEERING WHEEL, A 5" TYPE R MONSTER TACHO WITH A SHIFT LIGHT, SAAS VOLTS, BOOST, WATER TEMP, AND OIL PRESSURE GAUGES THAT CHANGE COLOUR BUT ONLY THE VOLTS AND OIL PRESSURE GAUGES ARE HOOKED UP AS I DIDN'T HAVE THE CORRECT SENDER FOR THE WATER TEMP, AND I COULDN'T GET THE BOOST GAUGE TOO WORK, THE IGNITION BARREL HAS BEEN REMOVED AND HAS A PANEL WITH SWITCHES FOR IGNITION, F/PUMP, THERMO FAN & START BUTTON MOUNTED ON THE DASH.
