yeah i want the head and block to be the same colour, and the rocker cover and side plate to be the same, but i'm just not sure how the block will look silver, and the car starts easy cold and just idles with no choke :)

well i finally fixed the flooding and flat spot it used to flood the manifold with petrol when you turn it off, then would take ages to start and was embarrassing, also had a flat spot at around 1200 rpm which was annoying, i replaced almost everything in the carb that was changeable, never made a difference, also tried a carb off my spare corona and still no change, then today i though i would put the carb of my original 2r that just has a touch smaller secondary throat, so i put it back together (had ratted it for bits) and put it on, starts first turn of the key and has no flat spot i drove the car around for a year like this, never put that carb on because it was a touch smaller.... :no2: and i put the black rocker cover on because the old carby has the throttle linkage holder on it, anyways here's a few pics. what I'm talking about... what are your thoughts on the black rocker cover?

did your car come out with an 8rb?

yeah wont take long, just gotta drive down the line about 1.5 hours so i can get the paint matched up, i'll get there eventually haha, hopefully in the next month, can't wait to start doing a few bits to it :y:

yeah, its gonna get cleaned up and painted green, motor painted etc one day, just not at the moment, yeah the speakers sound good, i don't listen to it much but still cool to have, you should post a few more pics of yours up :)

thats sounds cool, i wanna put a 18r in mine, mates got one in a hilux, just wasn't sure if it would fit, i have to get a different gearbox, might do it though, and i pulled the plates off my firewall the other day and painted them and the wiper motor, will put a pic up sometime today, and cleaned all the crap out from inside there, also changed dizzy too, and greased the front end, just nothing exiting....

yeah but they cost lots, and there isn't any manifolds for them

i cut up an old towbar for the manifold plates, then cut up some old extractors, drilled the port holes out the use a file to get the right shape, then cut up the extractors and welded the extractor pipes on, but welds are crap and ports are crap, and the carbs used to overflow petrol everywhere, but i think i good fuel pressure regulator would take care of that

last round i race at over at winton, a lady came up to me and asked if i would like her to take pics of my car for $20, she said she would take around 60, i missed the last session and she ended up taking 125 pics, not to bad quality, was pretty awesome, then there some guy that wants $12 for 1 pic about the same quality as the others....

not too sure if i wanna sell them, still in 2 minds about using them, they need a good go over, and the manifold isn't great, to be honest you are probs better off getting a set of 750cc - 1000cc carbs and making a manifold to suit, mine are too small, i only did mine to see if it worked, it was before i had seen anyone else doing it, so it was just to test out that it worked, then i waqs going to re do it properly, just gotten lazy and building the vt racecar is taking all my time and money....

the only real difference with the 8rb to the 18r is the the 18r is a 2L? they look the same don't they, apart from twin carbs etc
