well got the engine and gearbox out, clutch and brake master cylinders off as I'm swapping the, wiring is mostly out of the way, grills out, might get paint on the weekend, then tidy all the wiring up

ok well iv'e almost got the engine and gearbox out of the rt80, i'm pulling the 12r out of the red corona, putting a w50 on it that i have, giving the engine a coat of paint, pulling the front end out of the blue one, painting it and swapping so i have discs up front, and bosster too obviously, and painting engine bay aswell, :D yay haha

i'm pulling the engine and gearbox out of mine right now, to paint the engine bay, swapping the front end for a disc one i have too, and i'm converting it to w50, mine has a different style 4 speed that the earlier ones had, but i have 2 spare coronas with w40's, so will swap the bell housing onto the w50, and my tailshaft fits the w50, i just have to cut the gear stick hole out a bit as the L43 i think its called has a shaft on the side of the gearbox for the gears instead of the top at the back like the w gearboxes.

i had to follow my sisters boyfriend in mine, he was sitting on about 75mph for about 30 minutes, had to follow him coz i didn't know where to go haha, i picked up a w50 off a mate the other day, i thought the 4 speeds were a w40 so was thinking of changing it, although my 1971 rt80 had a different 4 speed, i think its a l43, tunnel is a bit smaller on some of the earlier models

if i sell it, i'll be swapping the brakes and the rear bumper as mine is a bit dinted up from old granny owner, its got a near perfect one! pics of inside a bit cleaner

yeah, i'll probs just do it up and flog it, might get it club reg'd and cruise around for a while, but i really need cash to get the vt racecar finished...

i'm on my way now, haha nah vic has enough to do me for another 5 years, then i'll start making my way around aus haha

yeah, i was thinking of painting it black, although i don't mind the blue, but it needs some paint no matter what as its got some rust in need of repairs, and its been patched up a bit in a lighter blue in a few spots, but yeah i was thinking of going black, dumped with a set of fat beanies or something, but i'm also thinking of doing what you said, i want to keep it for a daily and use the green machine on weekend as i don't want to get the miles up in it, but i sort of need a daily that can tow a tandem, will see what happens anyways, i do have a tow bar for one of these, can just imagine a corona towing a vt racecar down the freeway at 50kph haha

thought id put some pics up of the blue corona all washed.. took some pics of both cars together :P i gave the inside a clean, looks ok apart from the back seat having a few tears, didn't get any pics though haha, not sure what to do with it yet so i wont start a thread for it, if i decide to do something to it i'll do it then. cheers :y:

finally have a bit of an update, i purchased a new set of pbr-c4 callipers, they are the control saloon car ones, cost $800.... at least they came with good pads that are around $200, but they do look pretty sick, will get the calliper brackets that are a control item too, and i'm getting a pair of 330mm x 28mm discs off ebay for around $400, most of the saloon cars run discs that cost around $1000, also iv'e pulled my old cluster out and apart, and will mound the gauges in the old cluster housing with a bit of tin plate, anyways here is some pics!

haha its awesome, people i know keep finding them, this one was on my mates works road, and the red one i got was at a job my cousin did haha, i gave it a wash, came up pretty good, lovin it :D

so here is the latest family member, up to 4 now haha, picked it up yesterday for $250, pretty straight lil bit of rust but not too bad, runs and drives well :D has disc front brakes and high back seats as its the latest one, the interior is quiet good, just missing the dash pad and a few lil ripps in the rear seat. i'm thinking of doing it up, but wouldn't mind a few of the bits for my rt80 too...

looks tidy mate, looks like its still got the original plates too!i just picked up a 1973 model yesterday for spares or resto, has discs and high back seats too, i now have 4 of these things haha, have a look at my green rt80 on here if you haven't yet :y:

thanks mate, nah not doing the tampered days, i can't afford to do both so i might as well do the sprints and keep getting trophies until i'm in saloon cars haha

yeah i might do that one day, but for now i need my fuel gauge so i'll just do it like that, seeing if i can get my speedo to work atm, if i can i will leave the gauges for now or mount them else where

hey guys, cars all going again, also have some saas gauges i'm gonna install, just a tacho, water temp and oil pressure, and a shift light, they were just ones i had sitting around that a mate gave me, its nice to not have anything to fix on the car, so i can spend my money on making it go faster. the stupid thing that ended the day haha they look crap in the pics... what do you's think?

yeah the vt would be fun, but dads hunk of turd ea would probs be fun too, and i probably wouldn't take the vt on dirt haha, pitty it doesn't have a handbrake anymore...

and race 2, this one has a ke70 in it, its a friend of a friends, its got a 4age in it, i think its lap 3 that he does a big slide up the straight, was cool to get it on camera :y:

G'day, i see there's one on in june at shepp, i would have thought about bringing my vt as i'm not too far away, but its on the same day as the saloon cars at winton, i was hoping to have the car ready for winton but not gonna happen... but i guess i'd better go watch them anyway, would love to have a go at this in something one day, looks like fun :y:
