  1. awww yeah, can't wait to see this thing !! that looks so sick, great power too :y: who will be driving it?
  2. brackets actually turned up today :P had to go to shepparton to get bolts, they are all on and bled feels nice, just have to cut the top rad hose a bit for the temp gauge thing
  3. thanks mate, yeah can't wait to drive it again hahaha
  4. G'day, cars getting there, surge tanks hooked up and working, seems a touch better too, might be because of more fuel pressure, put a different air intake setup for a bit more cold air, i can't use it in saloon cars but will be better for now anyways. waiting for my caliper brackets to turn up so i can put the brakes on, you can only buy them from one place that the rules allow, he was meant to send them a week ago but i rang today and it was sitting on their desk, should turn up as long as they sent them today. pulled the rear brakes off and removed the handbrake shoe etc, and had a play with the pads and discs, there was a rusty lip that the pads had been touching, before i could barely turn the wheels, now they spin freely, was hard to push the car before too and now its much easier so should be a bit better, racing sunday so should be fun, might even rain ;)
  5. WGMG: have had my big discs and calipers for my vt racecar for a few weeks now, the saloon car rules make you buy caliper mounting brackets off one certain person, i messaged him about 2 weeks ago saying that i'd be wanting a set in about a week, then about a week ago i ordered them and said i needed them asap as i have a race this sunday (21st), its now thursday so i rang them at lunch time and a lady answered, i asked if he had made them yet and if he'd sent them etc, then she says no they are sitting on my desk, so i asked her if she could send them today so they get here tomorrow because the post office is closed on the weekend, and shes like yeah i'll try to get to the post office before 4. Get off your ass and send them, they were meant to be sent a week ago, if they don't get here tomorrow i might have to fly kick some people hahaha For f$@k sake your the only people that i'm allowed to get them off.
  6. i take the nooooo back, that looks sick too haha

  10. God dam thats sick, my dad has had so many old holdens, heaps of lj's and lc's he had a white LJ XU1 perfect replica, and a nice LC GTR, and just heaps of nice ones, my uncle put a 308 in a lj about 20 years ago, and dad had a stinking hot lc 2 door :y:

  14. i like the throttle bodies, me and my cousin were looking at doing that to his vn, but i ended up buying the whole car for $500 and using the t5 in my vt racecar haha, would love to hear a vid of this running, what are your plans for this thing?
  15. awesome will keep an eye out, nah its actually only 1.5L but i think it will do the job, so actually good score with yours, the only other one there was about a 3L maybe 4L but it was over $300 bucks haha
  16. thats awesome mate, feel free to post any new footage you take, i love watching it :y: well done in the race, it looks like a awesome track, and i love the wet too, gotta love a bit of sideways action, yeah i would have liked something like that but the one i got was the only one i could get around here so soon, and it was $95 and the pump was $90 too so was pretty good. oh and i subscribed to your channel haha
  17. G'day, firewalls made, and in, just gotta put some sealer stuff around it, fire wall is good enough, bit of a pain to do with the back window in haha
  18. this is what can be done to the heads. 9.2 (a) Cylinder head valves: The valves’ seat faces must be re-cut at 45°. Back cutting of the valves is permitted. The maximum inlet valve size is 45.7mm and the exhaust 38.6mm. Cylinder heads: It is permitted to machine the valve seats in the cylinder heads at 45° with the overcut/undercut angles/radii being free. It is permitted to reclaim the valve seats as per the manufacturer’s specifications, including through the use of a seat insert. It is permitted to machine the top of the valve guides to a minimum height of 20mm above the spring seat. It is permitted to machine the ports from the valve seat to the untouched valve guide boss with the largest diameter at the valve seat. All machine work must be concentric with the centre line of the original valve guide. It is permitted to machine the cylinder head face parallel to the original surface to obtain the minimum combustion chamber volume. The use of hardened or machined valve collets and retainers is permitted. The valve springs are free subject to there being a maximum of two springs per valve. It is permitted to fit shims under the valve springs. It is permitted to machine the valve spring seats to obtain the correct valve spring installed height. It is permitted to de-burr the valve spring seats locally after machining, provided it is to industry standards. Other hand or mechanical finishing of the valve spring seats is not permitted. 9.9 (a) Head gasket: The cylinder head gaskets must be of standard configuration type and dimensions for the model with the following minimum thickness: 0.95mm. 9.10 (a) Valve train: It is permitted to shim the rocker arm pedestals to obtain the correct tappet settings.
  19. yeah i'm following the rules, yeah probs wouldn't make any difference, i can't remember the measurements but they were smaller than the max size, wonder how much its gonna cost to get the valve seat faces re-cut at 45°
  20. i got some off a windscreen bloke the other day, wrong stuff too
  21. yeah iv'e been meaning to get the chrome strips for mine for the last 3 years haha
  22. ooh and i forgot to mention, i got a surge tank today, and have a fuel pump coming from eby, same specs as a bosch 044, just gotta make a firewall to put it in the boot
  23. yeah there is alot of little things that can be done, yeah my heads have the crowns on the front :y: but i'm sure that my heads have bigger valves than maybe an earlier ecotec, but the rules still say i can have bigger ones, and i think you can only port near the valve from what the rules say, would be awesome if you could port the crap out of the heads... thanks mate, will you be racing at winton?
