  1. hello. haven't updated for a while, i made some 2" lowering blocks the other day, and chucked some 225s on the back, looks allot better. had to pull my tacho apart and swap the guts as my other one shat itself, ditched the console, cbf with it haha. but just really enjoying driving it :y:
  2. and ill be the only one without one haha
  3. you should be able to use your one, or are you getting one to sort it all out while your cars still going?
  4. that sucks mate, glad you all are well
  5. no worries mate, but can i have it coz i need one hahahahaha :(
  6. ok, i was thinking about the gearbox conversion, there really isn't much i can say, but here it goes anyways haha. Tailshaft: fits perfectly into a corona with w50, Speedo cable: fits perfectly, and if you use a celica speedo cable you should be able to use a celica kph speedo but i have not tried for myself. reverse lights: pretty sure they are the same, Shifter hole: had to cut floor on my rt80 with the L43 box, but hole lined up from w50 too w40 so should be sweet, Bell housing: w50 has 7 bolts, w40 has 5 bolts as they don't have top lump, doesn't matter at all, all 5 holes line up. Handbrake: all that i did on mine was space the mounts down off the floor about 1-2cm, and longer bolts, with the x member mods the box hangs down a touch lower so tail shaft is a bit close to handbrake cables, and the 5th gear lump on the bottom of the box is where the handbrake mounts so just needs to be down a touch, still works perfectly, Clutch, 12r clutch works, I'll try to get measurements of the clutch slave cyl setup tomoz, but basically just needs 2 12-13mm studs welded on in the correct spot once plate is mounted, can't remember the exact size... Just drilled then tapped thread into the holes at the front, will have to check how deep, basically whatever size ya want once i made the plate, i made a cardboard template off the w40, then bolt the plate on the w50 and sit template in same spot, mark holes and drill them, then i bolted studs on as shown welded the nuts on the outside as it spaces the slave cyl out from plate, then undo studs off and cut off the right amount, screw back in so that they are countersunk in about 1mm and weld it looks like this, i had nuts on front bolts so they were the right length haha, and have the tab on the back just against the box to hold the back, works perfectly fine, i'll have to measure a few things to see if the x member will be the same on the rt81, then i'll let ya know what the go is with that, but a w40 needs x member mods to fit rt80 so would say it will be different, hope this is helpful for you mate :y:
  7. cheers, will post vids up soon, takes like 4 hours a vid though haha
  8. yesterday was interesting but still a good day, 1st race was good, got a 1.42.2, then the second race i got 2 laps because i ran out of fuel so i had to come in, 3rd race i got 2 laps again but this time my gear stick bolts fell out so only had 3rd gear, then in the last one didn't get a good lap due to traffic, which is fun but not good for lap times, then as i went over the line to start the cool down lap my radiator exploded, popped it out of it mounts too, didn't hurt anything though, lucky it was on the in lap... the track was pretty slippery and my tyres are pretty dead too haha, still got 1st place and won the championship for my class!! oh and then when we were loading it on the trailer the ramps fell off with the car half on so that made it even more fun haha manged to get 16th out of over 120 cars, motor definitely goes better than the old one, picked up a box thursday, seems to be a good one, had no probs with it :D
  9. here they are haha, not perfect, the wire is coming off on the top right one, others seem strong still
  10. yeah i'll rack my brain during the week, x member might be different as mine was auto it has 2 different x member mounting positions, but won't be too bad, been a long day of racing though and i'm just about falling asleep haha
  11. motors all good still, pulled the box out monday night as it keeps jamming in 4th, pulled it apart, swapped the shifting setup etc etc, nothing helped, so trying to get another today, i know of one for $400 in town so will do if its a good one, racing on saturday so gotta sort something out....
  12. lucky for me a mate has a old van with one so if i wanna do it i can use it, or i can get a complete engine from pick a part for about $200, but i don't wanna get in trouble with the cops, and being on p's they might check things more, if i blow my motor up then i will haha, just wait while i go hold it flat..... ;)
  13. i will be really jealous haha, iv'e been thinking about putting an 18r in mine but i dunno
  14. this is the only one iv'e seen with one, and it was for sale on here haha, would have been nice to have all the driveline from it... don't know anything else about it but shows it can be done.. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/61729-1970-toyota-corona-rt80-2tgeu-motor-unreg-suit-project/page__p__618707__hl__+rt80#entry618707 i also saw it on ebay a few months back, had a few more pics too
  15. wheels look better :D yeah i thought about going with the celica speedo, but where it attaches in the speedo is different so would need a celica speedo cable
  16. can i have it haha
  17. thanks haha, nah not lately, got a few bits i wanna do to it but have been pretty flat out getting the vt race car ready for the 30th, iv'e got some 225's for the rear will look a bit better than the 205's, still could go a touch wider but they are what i have, can put spacers in the rear so they sit out a bit further, also wanna lower the rear a bit more, hopefully will get a few bits done over the next week or so!
  18. looks good mate, iv'e wanted to do a v6 rolla for a while now, one day haha need vids haha
  19. cool mate, haha thats stupid could make them easily for like $10 haha
  20. looks cool mate :y:
  21. iv'e thought about doing it to mine for a while now, but don't want to get hassled from the cops haha, to be honest though, if your gonna do it, get a 12r, they just go better and have better ports, but you need 12r manifolds as they are different, i think it would handle it, but you never know, don't think anyone's hotted up a 2-12r before haha
  22. haha first time i drove mine, second lap the idler pulley fell off so the belt came off, blew the head gasket, temp gauge only went to half.... and i just thought the lack of power would have been the pvc intercooler piping melted, but no... :no2: was as good as new with another gasket, hopefully yours will be as easy :y:
  23. that sucks, as long as it was fun for the minute it lasted haha :y:
  24. haha mines getting close to doing that, looking forward to owning a new car haha ;)
  25. cool as mate, that looks like a really steep hill climb haha
