i sold my complete running 4agze ae71 racecar, i'd rebuilt the motor, 5 speed, disc rear end, sold it for just over $3000.....

g'day, painted the engine, resprayed the engine bay as it was a bit warmer, came up great, bolted the cross member in, forgot to get a pic of it though, i really like how the motor looks, think it will go with the rest of the car, need a good pic in the light haha

this things looking sick mate, i ran a facet pump on my corona with bike carbs, seemed to work good, but i had problems with it overflowing fuel out everywhere, but my pump might have been a bit more psi too, mind you i didn't know what carbs i was running as i got them off a mate who didn't know either, they might have just been crap, good luck with it anyways i can't wait to hear it running :y:

ahh some people make me laugh, can't wait to see what he has to say when it shows up haha, god i sold a set of mags about 4 months ago for $600 and the bloke paid for them, he still hasn't picked them up, texts every few weeks to say that hes gonna organize a courier but still hasn't, until he does they are sitting on my car making it look pretty haha

G'day, got a fair bit done today, one thing i decided is that i'm painting the motor that was in it, then i'll build the other motor up as a bit of a hottie, just cam regrind, head porting and shaved, just stuff like that but nothing to serious, i'm now painting the block and side plate black, leaving head silver and the rocker cover green. had some trouble with the gearbox, there were no studs on the side for the slave cyl. so drilled 2 holes then tapped some thread in them. then made a plate to bolt on the side. template for stud location. bolted studs on, then welded the nuts on the outside, then cut the studs shorter, screwed them in untill they were countersunk in about 1mm on the inside and welded them on, did this because of no clearance for bolt head. i didn't get a pic of it bolted up but will get a pic of it on tomorrow all painted up... next i started to disassemble the front end was very dirty haha after a clean up and some paint so then i got the 12r that was in it out to clean it, gave it a degrease, will pull everything off tomorrow to paint it. before i cleaned it, didn't get after pic

thanks mate, keep an eye out on the corona, there was a bit of stuffing around with the 5 speed to be able to bolt the slave cyl on, there was no studs on it, but will post pics etc on how i did it, got a fair bit done today :D

no worries, i so can't wait to get it back together, i'm painting my engine black and the rocker cover and side plate the engine bay green, i think it will look ok, if not i'll paint the a different colour, i was thinking of painting the engine silver, but it would probs look a bit tacky and it shows up all bits of dirt etc, so i think blacks the go.

thats right, arent i smart haha, wait until iv'e finished the conversion and i'll tell you if there is any other things, but, speedo cable looks like it will fit, tail shaft fits, reverse lights are the same, shifter position looks close, bellhousing seems all good, only thing is gearbox mount is back a bit on the w50 so will need to modify the x-member, not hard though, once iv'e done it i can make a conversion thread if you want? will make it much nicer to drive as mine revs to 4000rpm at around 100kph haha, so a fifth gear will do it wonders

got the motor and box out of the red corona, motor seems quiet good, pulled the gearbox off and the 5 speed bolts up to the bellhousing, just the w50 has 2 bolts at the top that the w40 doesn't, still has 5 to hold though haha, very happy, will start cleaning up the engine and front end tomorrow, gonna wait for a warmer day and just give the engine bay another coat of green then clear it, when i went out thismorning the paint had gone all white from it being soo cold, buffs out but to hard to buff all the engine bay in all the little bits. the 12r out of the red one has a good heavy duty clutch plate too!

thanks mate haha, i got the front end out of the blue one, put mine back in it, now just have to get the engine etc out of the red one and start cleaning everything up

well the engine bay is painted, looks pretty good, its a flittle bit darker green but not much i could do as i dunno what colour it is haha, still looks sweet though, i couldn't clear it coz its too cold and was going white, but got it pretty shiny and will just buff it, looks so much better than before!! can't get pics coz its too dark in the shed and you can't see it very good, can't get it out coz its got no front end haha, will swap it when it stops raining....

got a bit done today, got paint, seems quite good and was well priced too, engine bay is sanded, unused holes filled just need sanding, front end is out, hopefully will paint tomorrow :D

haha nah :D i do agree though it looks good and close to the colour, yeah should be good, the drums did work quiet well but just have to push alot harder, but yeah the discs felt so much better just driving around the dirt side road in the blue one
