1. Been searching high and low and unable to find this headlight trim or the amber side light, any help would be appreciated.
2. Here's a small introduction to what's resulted in countless hours, days, weeks, months, years of hard work, tears & dollars spent. The year is 2004, I acquired a Toyota Corolla from one of my friends, Nick. The vehicle had been stripped out with the engine bay painted, sitting beside a colossal pile of parts. Due to lack of time and a few others things, I acquired the old girl on her journey towards a better life. Its an Australian Delivered, 1982 KE70 Sedan owned previously by a Family from the south side of Brizzy. Maybe the 2nd owner? 3rd? who knows. The vehicle drove into the shed as presented below, eventually to end up getting a complete nut-and-bolt restoration. Well, we did use some of the old hardware.. but you get the point. More Pictures of Day 1 -> Click HERE <- 17th September 2005 was the official start date of ownership & spanner throwing on the old girl. It's become an unofficial 2nd birthday ! Looking back at the project now and the 50+ pages of updates over the next 13 + years, Its turned into a digital diary of the ups, the downs, the successes and the failures. To all of the people that have looked at this over the years, I thank you for your continued support and hopefully i'll try to update this on a semi regular basis. It still gets driven, every day, as a daily driver - as originally intended all those years ago : ) T
3. So it’s finally time and tomorrow morning I’m travelling to the goldy to pick up my Ke70 project. It’s currently in pieces and has already had rust cut out and fixed up so the first thing that I plan to do to it, is strip it fully and begin paintworks. As a tribute to my first ever car, I have decided to paint it green :O My dearly beloved Toyota Lexcen, bought for $50 off the back of a mates swamp and done up as a replica HSV SV5000 commo (but with SV89 body kit, go figure), was sadly written off after a very intimate encounter with a roo. So to revive some of my dearest memories I decided to paint my new Toyota in the same colour. Now, I haven’t painted in 6 years but nonetheless it’s something I can’t wait to do again. Pics of Ke70 to come tomorrow. Ps. Me painting green when I was 14. Ha. That rhymed. Painter and a Poet.
4. I’ve turbod my ke70. Just wondering if anyone has done the same. How did you do it. How much did it cost. Any dyno results. Anyone need help with a similar project
5. Hey people just wondering if there is such thing as a mini spool for a ke70 diff or a way to lock it that is stronger then welded
6. Hey guys just wondering how much a working standard diff and 5 speed gearbox out of a KE70 are worth at the current time?
7. Hi all thought I would start a bit of a thread here with my rolla. I bought the rolla about 5 years ago now and had been driving as a daily until i had a work car so started to do some work on her. I pulled the motor out and did a rebuild myself (lots of learning). Tried various combinations of carbs from stock to weber also tried twin SU's worked great but my cam was to lumpy so did not work so well at idle. Anyway moved to Sydney and the car stayed here in QLD and unfortunately had to be stored outside and very quickly grew rust and was not quite the same. However I have now moved back to QLD and have decided to get it back on the road and make a project out of it. I am going to keep the k motor but make it a turbo blow through set up.
8. Hey team need some help tried looking all over the net and can't find what i need, Currently trying to install my speedo cluster into my 1981 AE70 sedan but have a slight problem. There is ment to be 3 connector plugs leaving the loom into the back of the dash like the first photo. In my car i have 2 of the 3 plugs but where i should have the 3rd one i have two smaller ones that don't fit in any kind of way and have me all confused on why they are there and what they would have been for(see second photo). Any ideas on how to fix would be awesome or if anyone has any type of wire diagram so i could try wire in a normal plug Cheers
9. Hey guys. Have recently put in another engine and running into a few issues It starts but begins to play up and stalls. Only runs with choke on and ends up dying still within like a min . Could this be something to do with a blocked jet, timing, bad fuel, dirty fuel filter or air fuel mixture ?? Second issue I have is that my radio and clock are running as soon as you put the negative cable on the battery. Have checked the earths in the engine bay but they are bolted in. Any advice would be much appreciated Cheers. Engine is a 4kc and the model is an 83 ke70 wagon which has had egr deleted before I bought it 2 years ago. Will reply on smoko

My 20V KE70

Hey guys I’m Finally starting on my project, I’ve had this Rolla for about 4 years, I drove it for about 2 years it started to show signs of rust, I was about to start cutting the rust out but had to move house and parked it at my parents place and bought a motorbike. So it sat there for 2 years and now I have a place with a small shed so I have brought it home to start fixing her.
11. Hey guys, I was just wandering if anyone has a solution for the cheap made rear tail lights for the KE70. I bought a few months back a pair from ebay and now the colors have faded out. https://www.ebay.com/itm/TOYOTA-COROLLA-KE70-E70-TE72-1979-80-81-REAR-TAIL-LIGHTS-LAMP/132739016963?hash=item1ee7dca903:g:cRQAAOSw8GtZWPeW:rk:13:pf:0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/PAIR-TOYOTA-COROLLA-E70-KE70-TE71-REAR-TAIL-LIGHT-HOUSING-LAMPS-RH-LH-1980-1981/123009582810?hash=item1ca3f146da:g:S6AAAOSwSB1aoXXo:rk:23:pf:0&LH_ItemCondition=3 Is there a way I keep the bright original color?
12. I have a 1985 KP36. I've made a lot of mods on it mainly on the mechanical part. 1. Changed the stock 2K for a 4K motor (Brand new cylinder block) 2. Put a Weber DGV 32/36 3. Switched the T40 gearbox with a T50. 4. Put new Headers and new Radiator with a low temp racing thermostat. All these are great. The problem I have is on the freeway. My Differential is a stock KP36 (picture attached) one with a ratio of 43:10 (4.3) so travelling long distance is a pain and hard to reach top speeds. I need to get me a 3.9 ratio differential in so I will be able to cruise at 100-130 KMH with the engine at low RPMs. Is there a way I can only switch my Final Diff Gears without removing my entire rear axle? Any suggestions ???
13. Hi team, First time post here so let me know if I’m doing this right.. basically I’m wondering if any members here are able to point me in the right direction for a tuning/carby specialist shop in the Rotorua/BOP area. Might be a long shot but worth a try. I’m currently battling with my 4k build and hit a brick wall with the finer points of fuelling and breathing. Main points of interest on engine are - 1mm bored block/oversize pistons. 3k head with 20 thou skim. Wade 140 cam. Lightened flywheel. My current work schedule and being overseas has meant that I haven’t even touched the car in 3 months or so. And I can’t even remember where I left off, so pretty much wanting someone to come solve all my problems for me haha cheers
14. My AE71/KE70 drift build. Follow along, help me out, learn things, drift things!
15. OK, I have always had an obsession with the trd 3kr engine from back in the day, realised I was never going to get a real one so I decided to build my own. I don’t recommend this conversion to anyone I did it just to be see if it could be done. It took a lot of time and if I was not a fitter/turner a lot of money. Hope you find it as cool as I do. - Phil Matthews-Frederick. To save a lot of questions here are the specs. 16. Hi all, I have a 1981 KE70 and need to know what gearbox oil to use (it has a 4k engine with a 5 speed manual trans). I have done quite a bit of research in the forum, but I need to be sure Is it 80W90 or 75W80 or something else? Any other variable to worry about when choosing the oil? Thanks! Looking forward to your answers
17. I decided to replace my front shockies due to a major leak which caused a failed warrant of fitness. So i ripped into bnt and ordered a full set thinking all would be all cool.... Backs went in piece of piss... But to cut a long story short the front struts were completely different to the ones that i ordered. Apparently the ones i ordered were factory Carina inserts, but they have no seat for the spring?! Surely i shouldn't have to weld one on? so I'm guessing somebody along the line has converted the fronts to ke70 struts maybe?! I'll attach the struts in comparison and the list the part numbers. Because both struts have different part # Any help on the part numbers would be ideal! Please and thank you(:
18. WTB ae86 coilovers and brake setup for my ke70 cheers.
19. Looking for a ae71 ke70 slant front apron and bumper (the STEEL SUPPORT that sits behind plastic sleeve- pictured is of a rear bumper but I am after the slant front version of the steel insert - both have the steel support bar inside) Anyone in Victoria (or other states willing to ship) wrecking a ae71 or ke70 slant front (red preferable but not necessary) PLZ contact me - tell your friends! my mint 1984 red ae71 Corolla was crashed by my now ex partner and have managed to collect some parts needed but need these last two to finish the job. Have been looking for these parts for almost a year as Victoria seems to have a massive shortage of them available :( had a bumper shipped from tassie for $120 + $200 shipping and the seller failed to mention he threw out the metal support bar so this search has become extremely frustrating and expensive, so Not looking to pay crazy prices pls Tags : wrecking, ke70, ae71, slant front, bumper, parts, front end, panel, repair, apron, valance, Toyota, Corolla, 1984, Melbourne, Victoria , spares

22. Hello guys this is my first toyota Sprinter KE70 with Toyota 7KE engine . Thoughts please , Bought it as a daily driver .
23. Hello all. I have recently purchased some new machines for my wifes home business and have decided another cash flow for us is old car parts. I will be manufacturing tail light gaskets for ke series corolla for a start. I have managed to find a ke30 sedan taillight gasket in my garage ( in very rough, 40 year old condition) but have scanned it and measured it to be "as new shape". I would like ke30 coupe, ke25, ke10 and possible ke70 owners to to contact me if possible so I can measure the tail light gaskets on your cars so I can manufacture them for those models too. I have not managed to find ke30 taillight gaskets anywhere, not even when i purchased new taillights from fleebay. Depending on cost of the rubber sheets, a pair of gaskets will be anywhere from $50 -$100 a pair, made from 3-5mm thick black rubber. If this is in the wrong section, i would appreciate it if the mods could move it :-) Regards Mac
24. Hi all, Looking for a nice slanty front bumper bar if anyone is wrecking a slanty in Tasmania. Let me know if anyone can help! Tom
