  1. well as i had skool up in melb didnt get alot of time to get things done, but i did gte the 40mm solex sidedraught carby all mounts up and running, not to good right now needs some tunin, will work on that tomorrow, but f@$k does it go better, pulls harder and pulls right out to 7000 and ssstill wants to pull more in 2nd and 3rd, not so much in 4th and 5th but still pulls. got some pics, had some truoble with the brake master being in the way a lil so had to cut a lil of the carby and lay the motor over to the right a lil to egt a bit of a gap in there. just need to make some fiilters and tune it all up right and it sould be sweet. AS for the throttle and that i used a custom mount to hold the T-18 cable in place that pulles on arm off a 2TG EFI throttle body, bolted striaght onto the solex rod, works a treat

  3. well the thing is running people, it seems to go not to bad but could/would like to get more but for what it is it not to bad:D i am still running the stocko carby for now till i get the twin 40mm sidedraughts up and running, might be dis week if i get my ass into gear? also the origianl air cleaner choked the engine way to much so i made up a quick lil pod adaption out of some 2 1/2'', not my best welds but it holds and doesnt leak. ALSO NOTE THE SIL SCRAPIN 1200 UTE IN THE BACK, YES IT SITS ON ITS RAILS;) motor is goin on its first run down the GOR sunday morrning so will see what it is like?
  4. well i got the thing all running tonight:D set the valve clarances and that did a lil ign timing ajustin and tuning, I'm still running it in so don't know for full what it does lil but it no to bad to 4000rpm. and f@$k ME DOES SHE SOUND f@$kIN TUFF:eek: got some pics to. me puttin box on long motor in Now thats the go, was lookin to see if the injection will fit and yeah ill get it in there:P will tell more soon, i need sleep
  5. ok well ive been upto a lil bit this week and didnt get time to post, ive got the bottom end all together now, and the head is goin back together, most things are painted and the old motor is out of the car Went to dads mates place and did a lil bead blasting to make is alot easyer to paint stuff. Block together and painted. My bro polished the vavles for me, thanks nick lookin shiny and smooth;) Vavle springs back in. Painted the rocker cover in black krinckle paint, look alot better in the pis thow and look at all that empty space in there, so much room for big things oh and got a pic of the stock flywheel now. Before = After = 8.6Kg well thats it for now, looks like it might be running on the weekend now? might put the bat in the boot and change some other studd before the motor goes in.
  6. will i started to put it back together cos i got all the bottom end back today, its a lil lightned full balanced, linished crak, polished crank and rods, lighten flywheel, and fully blueprinted ;) I forget what the stocko flywheel weight was but the new one is now 8.6kg Also painted the block and cheaked the oil pump out and cleaned out all the engine oil gallerys to. Also here is the balance sheet just incase some one wants to look. Also i was goin to start to put the whole block back together but i found out that i didnt get/reseave some bottom end bearings, the thrust ones so i will have to get some tomorrow.
  7. ok well ive been goin nuts dis weekend, i had no money are fuel cos i sent the bottom end of to get balanced, linidhed, and machined, but before it get completly finishe dthe guys in there at the shop said to finish of the rods, so i still got them and pretty much polished them, just had a lil trouble getting to some spots but its not to bad really, i will finish plishing them later cos i have to take it back tomorrow to get the balancing done :jamie: the motor is getting there thow :jamie:

  9. yeah the cotum springs are the best :) i did to some more smoothing, started the con rods with a elec die gringer, i got over polighin the crank so i stoped, but it is still very very smooth so i think that it will do, like i don't really see polighing it to a shine will heap any more that what it is now:rolleyes: and i want the motor back together so i can start on the turbo one:)
  10. well the smoothing has be finished now, but i don't know if i can be f@$ked polishing it all :rolleyes: we will see maybe just a lil B). umm what ellse did i do? oh might have a cooler for it ssoon, nothing flash just a small one cos i don't want it to be able to be seen very well :cool: mad a cardboard one though to see what i size will be, lil smaller than i thought but for the price it will do the job :) oh and its not in the spot that it will be in ether, it will be allllot higher so you can't really see it.
  11. sick got the injection today off a 2TG, so as soon as i get the N/A motor finished then i can save for a megasquirt ecu and other stuff and the turbo will be on the way :D Retrospekt - ive still got a mtor in that car and as it is with the 3t in it and as low as it is now with stocko cut springs and no sway bar in it (cos it no longer fit) it was out runing my mates r33 down the great ocean road, but i was pushin the lil rolla to the limit was gettin a lil hair at points, EG side ways at over 100 next to rails, that have cliffs behind them :)
  12. we did a lil more work on the crank today after i got back home, pretty much finished all the smoothin with the flap disc on the grinder and then started to get it ready for polishing with the die grinder. and MMMM what would this contraption be handing off the side of the motor? <_< oh and dis was the results of the last time the turbo was in action :) injoy and lots more to come
  13. ok well ive done some more work to de old rolla, i got the 215/50/13'' tyre in it with some guard moding, after dropin it another 1'' in the back, had to cut the inner guard away from the oter to roll it far enough :D STOCKO <_< 3'' drop and some guard moding later :) also olmost go the manifold finished, it welded just need some smoothing and got the head back now, all welded and shaved, started to clean the ports and chambers up all smooth and not sharp edges. and now for the bottom end, crank is getting smoothed and polish, with some miner lighting gone, not very much on the crank though, will all be off the front pully and flywheel.
  14. ive got a single weber manifold and a 45 webber rebuilt a jeted to the 3t-c so that would work, don't know if i will seel it yet but the place that i got it done at saidd the it would be around $500 cos it is a real weber, genuie one.
  15. i got my cam back today, and block back after gettin decked 20 tho, and will have the head and modded inlet manifold tomoorow i hope and the bottom end back bay the end of next week at the best, and got the single 45 weber in the bay tonight but will not be running it since i will have the twin manifold tomorrow.
  16. a 28 spline r31 diff cut down, HAHA nar only an old jap diff 20 spline, will have r31 cut down when the turbo is running on it and i have money left.

OK well was out cruisein sat night and yeah did the shit, and it was time to leave, so as i do had the rolla allover the place sideways all up the road.. well all was good till we must off hit a really grippy part on the road and he broke the right hand side axle :P so good thing i had the locker cos i drove it home, was ok to drive to, still did 100 on the high way :dance: and was stuped for gettin the power to the ground when she only had the one wheel drivin it, was spining into 5th gear.. it was mad. LOL THE OLD TWIST AND SNAP the splines on the left axle if you can see have started to twist. Also cos we were just doin singles cos the diff centre was spining and the axle was not it eat out some metal in the part were the splines are. SO that were the rest off the axle is <_< :P :) All the left over bits. well boys that what a mass 46rwkw will do with out clutch dumps, just think what will happen if the turbo goes on again <_< :D MM i wonter if i can weld it all back together :blink: Cheers, DAN

DAM ifully forgot, ive got a 3t-c in the rolla now, its all stock but goes like f@$k :D in the wet it will spin the wheel over 100Km/h, broke the tailshaft once already, even with the dstock motor out of the padockbomb it will pull away from a stocko VN commo auto :P Well the motor was piss easy to get in made all the stuff and did all the work al on my own i about a week and two days, workin on it after work and on the week end, the bay is set up for the twrin cam head and the motor is sittin as low as it can with out moding the X-member and the sump just hits is just have to tap it in a bit. only ahde to mod the engine mounts on the x- member and some minor mods to the gearbox X-member and had to make a hydro clutch set-up, all the other thing were all of the rolla or a TA22, will have better info and pics soon but thats it for now. cos it is the motor out of my turbo TA22 ive got the turbo set up for it but just goin N/A for now, cos might go injected soon?

  24. yeah stuff buying stuff is you have no money, and makin stuff is so mutch more fun ( sometimes) LOL, another thing you could do is make one from scratch and make it out of mild steal, then tha carbys will sit lower to cos you are not runing it onto of the origanal manifold. so make ya runins out of some sort of pipe, and make to bass plates and put it all together, I'm goin to make my own sidedraught manifold for the 3t in my ke20, cos got no dosh to buy one, and will be easy as. i just love crazy ideas.   25. yea hlove the car very must, one of my mates has a ke20 with a 186 turbo in her and yeah there good.
