spotted a overrated white ke20 corolla on king william st in the city today while looking out the window on the bus... too quick for me to take a pic. Bloody corollas, too fast lol. Cheers Tally
  8. If any of you have seen the Rusty Relics thread on ausrotary you would have seen a lot of old, tied and very rusty Mazda’s. Well I thought id start a thread on rollaclub for the same reason except this one will be about Corollas and other Toyotas. I have about 87 MB of Mazda Rusty Relics and only 4 MB of Toyotas so I hope others can contribute. I know most Corollas aren’t that desirable except for the TE27 and a few others but a lot of other models are real collector’s items. Very similar to Mazda’s. I hope to go on a road trip later this year once my KE25 is done and find all the hidden treasure in the bush. Mainly going to find old Mazdas but also early KE Corollas aswell. Let you in on more info once it gets closer to happening... So let me start the thread with me collection to date :locked:
  9. Thanks shane-o! Yes you are right. Mine had it on the drivers side only but casue it was cracked and is plastic I thought id take it off becasue it looked horrible... Also need a pair of them too. Thanks mate. I already got one but want a new one for some reason ;) Cheers Tally
  10. Just received my radio and plastic radio surround cluster thanks to mickeyke. It’s from his KE20 that he is parting out. All I need now is a overrated passenger kick panel and a passenger tail light. Going to get a few things off eBay such as: Weatherstrips Hood bumpers Pedal pads Electric windshield washer Want to make it look a bit better. Maybe do a full respray in the future in the original colour Bamboo. Cheers Tally
  11. Today fixed the bonnet catch as it was screwed. Some beating with the hammer and a little wd-40 it worked like brand new! Had to take the grill off and couldn’t put it back on as the screws were all rusted and some broke. Also my uncle picked up a cheap KE70 the other day. I told him id take it off him for the engine but he wants to keep it as a daily driver. Cheers Tally

Spotted a blue early KE20 today at Ingle Farm Shopping Centre. About a year ago we were at Ingle Farm Shopping Centre and saw the exact same KE20 and another one parked right next to it. The person who owns it must work there as it would be a massive coincidence if it had came the same day as we went. Still heaps around fellas…

  14. Thought id post some pics up of how it sits at the moment until I get my engine...
  15. Ok so lets get this straight. 2TG theory out the window. My 3K is bust. Leaning towards a 5K or maybe a 4K. Whats involved in putting it in the KE25?
  16. Maybe youre right Scott. Thats what my dad said. By what Redwarf stated its not a bolt in conversion. I’m not sure what I want to do. I bought the car purely with the intention on driving it with as less hassles as possible. I spent money on the 3k and found out it had no compression. I got pissed off so thats why I put it up for EOI. I got some interest like I knew I would and it motivated me to keep it because I waited so long to get one and I'm not going to let it slip away. Now I came up with the 2TG idea because my mate has a Celica with an 18RG (which is longer in length) in it. Now I understand that is a whole different ball game as it bolts straight in with the Celica. With the KE25, even though the te27 Levin/Trueno in Japan came with a 2TG, to convert a KE25 to a 2TG is much harder as Redwarf said with the custom engine mounts, hydraulic clutch, custom tail shaft etc etc. Maybe its because I like the sound of the 2TG. Sounds mean az. Maybe it is better to stick with a K series. As like you said I will have more money in my pocket then in a car that’s not on the road. Anyway I wanted to keep the car as close to original as possible. So a 4K or 5K would be as close to original as I could get. Wanted the 2TG because it would make it a bit more like a TE27 with a bit more power. Hmmm Thanks Scott.
  17. Wish my car would be ready... but it will be worth it...mmmmm 2TG, maybe for that end of year cruise for sure though
  18. yea I understand mate, I knew I needed to do that. Is it a massive task to do? Any complications in doing it? Well I think this thread is going to help greatly once I get the engine and start the conversion. thanks heaps mate for the help Cheers Tally
  19. so whats the catch? he is giving me the ta22 engine mounts/crossmember and I have read they bolt straight in.
  20. yea guys just went and had a look at a 2TG. Its in a 71 ta22 Celica. Its running, has extractors and is running sweet. Wants $1300 for the engine, gearbox and exhaust, or $1600 for the whole car. Told him to hold it for a month while I grab some cash together. Fits straight in apparently. So should be killer :P 2TG in KE25 = Street Machine!!!
  21. Hey guys Well not much has happened in the last two weeks. Just been working and trying to get as much money as possible. Well as my 3K has no compression: How much would a rebuild cost? Could I do it myself? (I have my uncles backyard workshop to do it at) What would need to be changed on it? New rings etc What does reconditioning a head mean? Would I need to recon mine? I'm still saving up for a 2T/2TG, but I'm not sure if I want to go through the hassle of the conversion. Anyone have any info on that? I have a bit of an idea of what is involved. Eg Engine mounts etc I just want to get this peice of shit running :P Cheers Tally p.s This is all a learning experience for me and as this is my first car I'm a bit out of the know.
  22. Hey guys As my 3K in my KE25 went bust I now need a new engine. I have found a 2T and was wondering if it is an easy conversion. Also I am on the look for a 2TG, I'm guessing that would be a similar conversion. I have looked at Jonnys Old Corolla site http://www.geocities.com/jonnyr_1973/ And also The KE55/2TG Conversion Pages http://ke55.1colony.com/index.html They provided some useful information but still not sure how I would do the conversion in my KE25. Will I still need to use TA22 engine mounts etc etc. If anyone could shed some light that would be great! Cheers Tally
