I have just done that swap in my 30. I used the complete rack and mounts off a 70 crossmember also i have used the complete 70 column. I can not comment on how it drives yet because the car is still in bits. But it looks like it will work. Can i ask why you want to change to rack?

I am doing this same conversion but into a ke30 and i can fit the stock brake booster and have less room to play with in mine. What diff ratio is the r31 diff you have i know that the stock celsior is about 3.9/1. I will be running a xr6 rear diff in mine that has a 3.6/1 lsd head in it.

Hi guys I'm looking into doing a conversion from steering box to rack and pinion in my ke30. For two reasons one better feel from the rack and the ability to upgrade to power rack and two more clearance for when the 1uzfe turbo goes into the car. Has anyone do this conversion? I was looking at using an Starlet KP60 crossmember and rack already attatched to it. Thanks in advance Dan..

Going back to your SE badge there is also a SR badge in New Zealand that gets you Taco dash and factory twin carbs. I think there are a couple of more crome parts aswell..

I am in the process in doing exactly the same with my KE30 but with a big single turbo aswell.. I have seen this conversion before here in NZ in a KE35 and heard about another KE30 with twin turbod 1uzfe in it. We are lucky over here because both of them are legal on the road here.

Why are you selling your 30? The wire that you need to find for it to start is along the trans tunnel. From memory in my 78 ke30 4 door it was black with white stripe. It links into the auto shifter to make sure you can only start it in park or nurtral. Hope this helps if you havent already sold the car.. Dan.

I'm pretty sure that they are call SSR Mesh. They might be a Replica though but look very similar.
