  1. go the mighty 20v!! theres 2 ways u could do it... get a halfcut and use the factory ecu etc. this means ull need to do some panel work around the firewall toclear the dizzy option2 buy the engine and loom and use an aftermarke ecu u can then use a crank angle sensor (like 4agze) therefore having plenty of room by the fire wall. id go this way. as it allows better tuning and more scope for later on, like a turbo!!! :blinks: ae71 crossmember would be a good choice. as for a gearbox and t50 box is easy enough. its the bellhousing thats hard.. how about going w55 and turbo.. mate of mine has a ke70 with turbo 20v. it excites me :jason:
  2. forged alloy that is... and i can supply a full set of 4agze rings and pistons from $500ishnz. aw11 s/c was late 80s mid 87 to 88 ae92 was late 87 to 91 ae101 91 to 95 (I'm not at work to check the exact dates, will do tomorrow if i remember) the internals of the 4age/ze are IDENTICAL apart form the pistons. there are 2 types of rods found in them which are the same as the same year 4age. as for the ae101 having lightend internals.. the later conrod is also used in the later(map) ae92 gtzs. these are also used in the smallports (after the 1st 6 months of production) and the s/t 20vs the later rod is lighter than the earlier redtop/4agze rod. hope that helps :jason:
  3. yeah i got the thing for $200 (it was the old small body shape, not the 80s rustang) was sitting in it one waiting for some one as just casully playing with the gear lever and it slotted into 5th! i though hang on..... and took it for a drive. damn thing screamed up2 170ks. i chickend out then as it still ahd little 155s but it was still going! to say i was impressed would be an understatement. i think the box was from a 180b maybe

  8. I'm sure it will be great! ill pass on your support guys! and i agree involvment in motorsport automatically extra points... but she has a b/f so don't get any funny ideas!! hot rally girls b/f
  9. hehe we don't have as many rules as you do! haha! :) i agree with what you say about working on them though! I'm definitly an old car fan as well, hence the shovit, but in going 4age in that, eventually 4agte cause i want heaps of power :) it also fits into my plans for what i want to do, build some thing myself. and race it!
  10. its come to my attention that you all drive old cars! nothing wrong with that, was just wondering if anyones got anything modern? iv got: 91 ae101 20v levin 90 u13 sss bluebird and my old one: 79 (i think) vauxhall chevette
  11. woohoo! off rallying again this weekend! crewing again for: Mr Revheads driver car is still being rebuilt after its explosion, and may not be ready yet. so theyv lined up an evo 5 just in case!! :) so I'm frantically researching evos in case any fast spanner work is needed!
  12. how do you make those bloody sizes work? :)
  13. hmm how about a chevette with turbo 4age? watch this space.... in about 5 years...
  14. i think they get most of their parts from TRD USA, which is seperate from TRD japan. there is no s/c kit or carbon fibre engine cover that i can find in our catalouges.
  15. yeah I'm a TRD dealer see here for zze12# parts: TRD corolla I'm afraid theres no TRD s/c kit for them. as for warranty it will depend on how toyota oz feel, i know here in nz its all good unless you start playing with the engine, eg springs are all good, but fitting TRD pistons will be frowned apon!
  16. i don't have the technology! ill see what i can do, I'm sure there will be some on a website in a day or so. i was like a kid at xmas!
  17. well the rally has been and gone... unfortunatly the engine developed a missfire and oil problem 15kays into the 1st stage (50k long). apparantly having a broken rod and 2 holes in the block caused this  so after arriving at the service park at 745am and getting the truck and tent set up we had to pull it down after less than 10mins. quite disapointing. the rest of the day was spent recovering the car and pulling the engine out so it can be rebuilt (replaced!) for the next round in 3 weeks. on a plus i got to hang out with rally drivers and crews for 3 days! surrounded by heaps of flash cars etc :D i was also lucky enough to be given a ride in the car (an ae111 levin) on the shakedown. i was AMAZED at the grip these cars have on gravel, rally tyres are amazing! the engine has been dynod (before blowup!) at between 170-200hp (shh secret) at the wheels, so it was no slug, the TRD gearset and LSD helps too. so all in all i had an awesome time, and must have impressed the right people cause they have already asked me to help out on the south island rounds of next years champs! yay me! :P :P p.s. we didnt feel to bad about not finishing.... 28 other cars didnt as well nelson rally results scareist one is the starlet listed as dnf, reason: off road-in pond.... standing on the side of the pond it landed in you can just see the car under the water.... :)
  18. not long to go now! I'm excited! I'm in the codrivers seat for the shakedown!! :D
  19. if been lucky enough to talk me way into crewing for: shes doing the local round of the natinal series in two weeks and as i 'know' people I'm in! :D
