  2. Just a thought... someone on this forum might actually own that very car... Its possible...
  3. oooh boy.... thats funny. I've yet to meet someone who has actually reconnected the heater after bypassing it...
  4. half pint is about the size of one of those sample tins you get for house paint. The toyota ones I've seen are much smaller... like the same size as modeling paint tins.
  5. Don't repaint it... its perfect just the way it is... imagine hypothetical old mate's face when his fully hektic commodore gets dusted by a bucket o shit bowls club wagon :)

    Wreckers

Damn you southerners and your "wreckers-that-actually-stock-older-cars...." A shiny penny for the first person to load up a van full of KE70 panels and drive them up here for me!!! $ching ching$
  7. I've always liked the BZR levins... But always passed them over on account of my inherent dislike of FWD. But, having driven one just recently I'm beginning to view them in a different light... they really are a good thing. The only other FWD I've driven that had marginally better handling and performance was a Type-R Integra. I think come november when it's time to upgrade the GF's car, one may end up in my driveway. Since I'll be importing it myself, 10k landed is realistic... And when you look around at the other meagre offerings in that price bracket, nothing comes close.
  8. If its relatively unmolested and in decent nick (and a genuine GT) you've got yourself a bargain fella. I had one many moons ago (when they weren't quite as rare) and I butchered it and turned it into a rally car... :) stoopid stoopid stoopid
  9. Nope...
  10. That would be the crankshaft attempting to exit the engine... via the sump plug.
  11. Shouldn't be... hit the wreckers.
  12. New corolla/yaris/hilux/camry blue looks amazing on older cars with some curves :y:
  13. 1st guess... Door Control Module behind passenger side kick panel. Little green box. Get a new one.
  14. Just flog the bejesus out of it until you run it dry... it'll fix itself up.
  15. A tsunami, several plagues of locusts and a localised rift in the space-time continuum
  16. Dunno the story... but if donations are required to keep RC running, I'm in.
  17. 32/36 downdraft goes on easy and makes good power for a cheap n easy upgrade.
  18. I would wager 2rz-fe, basic spec and no frills for sub-rolla pricing (Base model) 3zr with nicer interior, electric things and a pissweak factory bodykit for just under 30k. Possibly an optional auto. (Sportivo) I suppose its just rude of me to request a convertible variant isn't it.... The GF wants one with no roof...
  19. You think thats bad... I've seen worse If you ever go to Tokyo, rent a car and cruise around the industrial areas (the man-made islands in Tokyo bay) from about 11pm onwards... all the different car crews have their own hangout spot... usually under the overpasses or carparks near train stations. The Boso boys n girls like do do things like this to "old" cars, like this poor AE92 sedan. The coolest part is, there's not really such a thing as a defect notice in japan... so you can modify to your heart's content. Most of the boso cars like that soarer aren't registered though... so they all scatter when the police rock up at about 4am... usually in "pursuit" vehicles like WRX's and R34 GTR's. Purely for show... nobody ever gets chased and they very rarely issue fines. I love Japan... :y:
  20. I reckon if you're in IT you were already pretty good at one-handed typing.... *fap fap fap* hehehe
  21. From what I've read, it does seem kinda feasable. What they appear to be doing is making a cheap n cheerful 'bitza' out of previous generation drivetrains, suspension etc. In this way, the R&D has already been done, and the costs thereof have already been absorbed by sales of the vehicle they were originally developed for. The only tricky parts are the RWD 'box and possibly diff, but if a suitable toyota 'box can't be used, they may just come from subaru or diahatsu, with a bellhousing made to suit the 2NZ. I've heard tell that the rwd floorpan is in fact a cut-down and lightened version of the IS200/Altezza pan... which would explain the short overhangs and cab-forward design. Hopefully it will share the suspension components as well. Two things to bear in mind though. Yes, its an Echo motor. Not exactly happy-in-your-pants material, but they're a tried and tested and generally unf@$kable motor. Plus, 88kw in a 1000kg rwd is still going to be a buttload more fun than the equivalent fwd dreck getting around... Bigger would be better of course... but its all speculation and conjecture at the moment so I guess we'll see. Also, given Toyota's history of not releasing the fun stuff in AU for fear of undercutting sales of their own bread-n-butter beigemobiles, its unlikely we'll even see them in aussie showrooms. Which is bad, and yet good. Bad, because we'll have to wait a couple of years for them to become eligible for import under SEVS. Good, because they'll be CHEAP... and cheap purchase price means more money left over for engine conversions... :o We'll see...
  22. That conversion would be so complicated, expensive and pointless that I'm wondering if its some sort of joke. Really.
