  1. Wow... what a completely lacklustre effort by Subaru... AGAIN... I mean is anyone really surprised with how unremarkable the new wrx is... Subaru's body styling has always been conservative to say the least, which is probably a good thing... lets try NOT to remember the mid-late 80's when some clown put LSD in the design studio's water cooler*... what happened? The SVX. eeeew. * Purely speculative But if we're being completely honest, lets look at the type of demographic who can afford a wrx brand new... Its NOT the 20-30 age group with a penchant for edgey futuristic designs. Its the slightly older mid-life-crisis accountant who wants a sports car but won't get an import cos his insurance won't cover it. (and he needs 4 doors to drop the kids off at soccer) Hence, it looks like a camry. This is a good thing if you're buying one secondhand though, as the these type of people have less propensity to destroy the hopelessly fragile running gear.
  2. Hellooooo ladies...
  3. There's a certain irony in spelling "grammar" incorrectly....
  4. I blame the parents. :kiwi:
  5. I feel slightly preturbed that my vitriolic spelling angst seems to have been the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back... in my defence I would like to point out that the subject of my relatively mild grammatical barrage is quite a bit senior to myself and possessing a post count over 200... one would think that by this point that if the lad hasn't wrapped his head around the guidelines beset regarding language etc, its about time the rapscallion received a damn good thrashing. However, point noted, and I shall attempt to restrain myself in future, and be content with playing a more passive role in watching the english language be utterly bastardised by the next generation. OUT
  6. My old Ke70 wags was "The Brown Hornet"... named in a rare and spectacular moment of creativity... and also cos it was brown. Fans of bill cosby's acclaimed and topically poignant cartoon "Fat Albert" will remember the character well...
  7. HANDEL, George Frideric. (23 February 1685 - 14 April 1759) German born Baroque composer. Most famous for his composition "Messiah" A particularly stirring piece. Seriously though, buy a f@$king dictionary you spell like a retard.
  8. Ahem... May I suggest Tawneee or Ysabell
  9. Unless the Vengaboys are involved, in which case all manner of pink fluffy hell is unleashed
  10. wicked ;) As for the clutch-coast resume, is that a factory programming option with the Autron units or is that something you did yourself... I haven't seen that feature before even on top-end cars with factory cruise... (mind you most have been automatic) Call me lazy but it bothers me having to press resume every time I downchange to go through a roundabout on the highway... :) My second question (and thanks for taking the time to respond by the way) How does the cruise unit integrate with the ignition to cut spark... are you running factory ignition or electronic? Is it a nice soft progressive cutout? Or does it completely snuff the engine like Holden's rather rudimentary traction control... Cheers mate
  11. Thats awesome... Nice and clean and not a hint of rice. I like it a lot. I'm interested in your cruise control... Do you have microswitches behind the horn bezel? If so, how have you run the wiring? Or did you make some extra contact rings on the boss? Cheers J
  12. Wow. Thats an amazing transformation... Very nice work... Looks like a lot of time and effort has gone into the restoration you should be quite proud of your achievement! PS: Interior pics please! :)

  15. My Ke70 was named "eddie" by the swedish backpacker I bought it off.... But usually I like to give them obscure british names if the previous owner hasn't named them already... Current fleet: KE70 1 "Eddie" KE70 2 "Calvin" Starlet "Lila" 626 "The Chad" AE92 "Sir Basil" Tercel "Little Winston"
  16. Being as there is a distinct and evident lack of snow and/or rabbits in the tropics, I'll leave you to make your own assumptions.

  21. Um... it is in fact a corolla hiro... the panels, doors, interior, dashboard, engine and everything else are interchangeable... same chassis, with small modifications to the floorplan for the 4wd drivetrain... hence still carrying the "E" chassis code. They were sold as the "sprinter carib" in most overseas markets. I used to have an AE95 4wd and when I smacked the front end I just replaced the panels with AE92 stuff. I currently have an AL25... and most non-4wd mechanical components are interchangeable with AE71 and AE86... with the exeption of exterior panels, and the dash which is from an EE80-82 not sold in oz. The AL25 has a Y-series locker diff which will bolt into an *e7*, just as a side note... I also heard a rumour the AE95 4wd diff is a T-series, but I haven't been able to confirm that as yet. Hope that clears up some of the conjecture.
