  1. While I've got you all here... I think the completely unofficial Rollaclub FNQ division (plus a few ring-ins from Brissy and a slightly insane flying Tasmanian) will be heading to the SUPER EXCITING Atherton car show on Sunday the 30th. Feel free to come along and say hello
  2. 86coupe also has an AE82 daily, amongst other things. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/33663-my-collection-of-old-junk/ Parts for either don't exist up here... Everything I've needed has come from Brisbane or further.
  3. Hah... Well its not often you see something built PROPERLY up here, I can't wait to see it finished :P
  4. Sortof... In our little circle we have 5 x AE86's, a few KE70's, a smattering of T18's and I've got a KE20 sitting on my front patio I should really get off my arse and do something with. Odds are if you spot something old, Toyota and RWD on the road up here, its one of us so give us a wave :P There's another guy in town with a couple of rotary powered KE25's but he's a bit shy... FNQ_Rolla has an epic KE35 coupe in the build... Jesse_B has an AE71 I sold him a while ago he's slowly ruining with primer and a hacksaw...
  5. There's a few of us floating around...
  6. And while we're here, I have a dirty little secret. I like Citroens. CX Break SM XM XM Break I know... I am sick and broken and I expect an intervention at any time soon.
  7. On that theme... Just because everything 80's is AWESOME I mean really, look at this dash. LOOK AT IT
  8. Oh look, rocking horse sh*t. An un-lebanese'd WRX... I've heard tell of these mythical creatures, but never laid eyes on one.
  9. Which isn't saying much. Early Hyundais were utterly dire... Actually even later Hyundais. They've only lifted their game in the last 5 years or so. There is a Greatwall dealer just around the corner from me and I chat to the guys in the service dept sometimes. They are replacing a lot of *everything* under warranty, especially the 4WD models. Clutches, gearboxes, other drivetrain components. Important bits. Mind you, that's not much worse than the Navara/Triton... Even if they had the driveline sorted I still wouldn't go near one. They're ugly as sin, build quality is awful, the rattle and vibrate, and the interiors are... Urgh.... A sea of cheap nasty recycled toy plastic.
  10. Hmmm... Cheap, reliable, economical, 4wd. Only one option really... BAM
  11. Yeah same same... For some reason the Soarers seem to be cheaper but the Celly's are just as good. Bit heavier, and a bit more to (potentially) go wrong with the airbag suspension and stuff though. With normal servicing a 1UZFE will run forever... Just budget for a timing belt every 100k, and a rear main seal every 200.
  12. 1UZ Soarer. Cheap to buy, comfy as hell, all the electric fruit, and they're actually very economical on the highway. About 7L/100k's.
  13. There's heaps of us, you're just not cool enough :P
  14. I'm like that when I buy cars (ask Teddy :P) I know how much its worth and how much I'm willing to pay, the seller's price is irrelevant... So I make one offer and one offer only, with the cash in hand, close enough so they can smell it. They don't like it, I walk away... aaaand usually get a phone call a couple of hours later accepting my offer :P
  15. I'm the opposite... I get cash out once a week, or even every two weeks, and pay for everything in actual cold hard folding stuff. I find its more tangible and 'real' so I'm less inclined to spend money on crap :) Eft is too easy... Swipe card, push button, money disappears...
  16. Not a bus in THIS country... :)
  17. Oh man these things are BUILT for slammage. I had a '65 Belair and they are waaaaay too easy (read: temptingly easy) to drop on their guts. Also, there is nothing that looks more awesome than a car the size of a truck barrelling down the road 5cm off the deck. You'd want bags though. I couldn't afford them at the time, consequently the Bel was extremely limited in where it could be driven :P
  18. SPEED HOLES Heading over to ol' Blighty... Bestill my beating heart... XK8's are an exercise in restrained muscle, wrapped with impeccable class And the C-X16 concept has me all frothy too
  19. The Morgan conflicts me... Its hideous, and yet... Isn't... Anyway, on with the show ^^^ Dat ass.
  20. Shady wins
  21. I don't even know where to start describing all the things that are fundamentally wrong with you, boy...
  22. T minus two weeks until update :)
